1:17 I know what you’re talking about when you said everybody needs milk and bread during a snowstorm...I live in Ohio and when we had a little snowstorm a week or two ago, I went to Kroger for something, and the WHOLE bread isle was COMPLETELY empty. 😂😂😂

Awesome job on your solo Karli!!! We are gearing up for competition season and I as a dance mom I get just as nervous prepping to go to comps as well!! My daughter is very hard on herself, she never seems to be happy with how she did!! My son on the other hand always thinks he does great!! Lol. Must be a girl thing!!

I am 14 and I am a competitive dancer in New York! I do get super nervous and I know I can relate to Karli, because I'm always super nervous before I go on for my solos. The clip of her solo looked great! Especially her fautte turns, she had very nice control!

WOW Karli!! You really see the pogress you made! Your turns looked absolutely stunning and you could really see the passion that you put into your dance! You got so much better!!! You really did an amazing job for a first time solo, you should be very proud of yourself and I think this is why a lot of other dancers and people look up to you because you are a beautiful, hard working girl and dancer! My daughter, Carly, and I did competition dance from age 3 to 20, including college. Regional, national competitions, many workshops, Disney, including Daytona National College in college, many times. She’s 24 now. I know all you know and feel. 😉❤️ Best of luck! 💃🏼👯‍♂️ Omg, and you love cats too! 😻 PS. Don’t you love it when they get older and don’t have to get up at 5am for an 8am performance, and they do their own makeup and hair? Those days were the best for me. I could sit back, make a lil adjustments, until college, then it was all her, and enjoy. Lol Did you have her costume altered? For me, it was easier to pay a local seamstress. She did Carly’s costumes for years, and then 5-6 years of formal and prom dress alterations. Anything to make them more comfortable. Especially at this age, if they are hesitant about their costume, it will make a difference in their performance. You probably already know, but if not, just sharing. 😊❤️ My Carly started solo competition at age 7 and has been tough on herself since then through college. Andyes, even blaming me. 😘 Now lastly, you did awesome Karli! No traveling on your turns at all, beautiful stage presence and expression, you have a natural talent. Don’t stop! Don’t doubt. The only thing I noticed was your releve’ in your turns could be higher, BUT, I’ve been very recently proven wrong with that critique from nationally broadcast TV dance shows, so it’s probable not important anymore. You are always going to be your toughest critic, and you Mom will be proud no matter what. She may even suggest corrections she’s learned over the years. But, listen to your teachers, and the tapes and comments from the judges. And strangers. I really thought you did well! I’m a fan, you’re awesome!)))

Karli's solo costume is GORGEOUS! I really like it. The music (from what I heard) is beautiful! When Karli said she was nervous about falling out of her turns, she shouldn't have been. They looked great!

You did great on your solo just a few tips 1. Try to flow the moves together a little more to make it look less robotic 2. Try to change your emotions And that’s literally it then it would be perfect

she needs to really work on her technique, flexibility and control. She does not get to the correct positions. She never pointes her feet, stretches her knees or uses artistry in her movement. Everything was a super sloppy mess of movement that never really looked cohesive.

I used to be very hard on myself and get so upset if I didn’t do my best. Then just one day I realized how much it doesn’t matter. If you know you are a good dancer that’s all that matters. Once I stopped caring how I placed or if I nailed everything perfect I started to do a lot better. Last weekend I was in the advanced category and placed first with my solo!

Don't worry Karli, I'm the same way. I am a ballet dancer and am a complete perfectionist. I can be extremely hard on myself over even the smallest mistakes. I've learned that the ballet world isn't easy, I struggle with self confidence often. But I've also learned that you can't compare yourself to others, you are your biggest competitor. As dancers we have good days and bad days, but I constantly remind myself why I started and why I love to dance. My dad always tells me "dance like nobody is watching" and that is exactly what I do. I think you are a beautiful girl and beautiful dancer Karli! Good luck this season and remember to have fun and enjoy it.

As a dancer I am always hard on myself because I always feel like I could be better. I know I’m one of the better ones on my teams but I still compare myself to other dancers because it’s so hard not to. I always feel like I could do better. I see where Karli is coming from 110%

That’s a nice auditorium! For my comps we just have a built stage and chairs and then an actual stage but the seating is so weird! But we are going to a new venue place and I don’t know what it’s like

We did the same thing this weekend about going to a hotel late at night. I️ had a gymnastics meet early in the morning and we were worried that the snow may stop us. So we hoped in the car and got to the hotel at 11:30. Always better safe than sorry!

I agree with you Candi I can't wait for Spring either!!!! I have this bad feeling it might snow here in Eugene Oregon in March it probably won't but yeah I hope it doesn't.
