On this weeks episode we continue our free camping odyssey down the Stuart Highway as we get closer to Alice Springs, our first stop is Larrimah the township with Australia’s smallest population and also made famous by Netflix series.
After leaving Larrimah we find a fantastic free camp called Newcastle Waters south where we set up camp for a couple of days so I can catch up on some work and I can do a little bit of editing before picking up and heading down through Tennant Creek to our next destination the Bonnie Wells roadside stop. What a fantastic campsite so quintessentially Australia with an old comet windmill, water tank and an old well leftover from the stock droving days.
Bonnie Wells is located a few kilometres north of the Devils Marbles a fascinating ancient mountain range reduced to small mounds of boulders over millions of years of erosion.
After leaving Bonnie Wells and checking out the devils marbles we continue our track south and set up camp just outside of Borrow Creek at a campsite called Geoffies Camp. Geoffies was one of our favourites positioned at the base of the magnificent Davenport Ranges.
So go and get yourself a cold drink and come and us for the adventure.
