Karpe Diem, I admire their music so much, their lyrics are meaningful and their songs give me goosebumps! What I also like about them is that they are intelligent educated people, not like other rappers, singing about booze, money and girls...THUMBS UP FOR KARPE DIEM !!!
They are singing about "peacocks" as the peacock represent the children that were killed on Utøya 22 july. The peacock is colorfull, free of rasism with all its wonderful colors. The children were peacocks, sweet innocent.
I can translate: My gray hoodie matches with the slurp The concrete here is feeling less The building we live in is is drenched in fog I’m a peacock I’m a peacock I’m a peacock I’m a peacock Dad had refuge housing Bad economy But now my sister has house in holmenkolen And that’s the way I am So I cry when I’m gray It’s cool the way a crow pretends to be a peacock Cra I see the turban on my brother The little girl that dread going to school I see mom and dad Even though I dated a white woman and things flew in between walls Mom said it’s rase siestem It makes you angry Angry and throw things I put my people under ballerkim To hassle never hurried to fit in These black peoples now this is true We are the only people who can be there voices My friend grupp is a pack of non stop and m&ms And all the money at there theaht My gray hoodie matches with the slurp The concrete here is feeling less The building we live in is is drenched in fog I’m a peacock I’m a peacock I’m a peacock I’m a peacock Because a demon hates peacocks Had that demon with him gray bullets It’s not the first time I stand on a stage But they on the first row is survivors And I’m a peacock Live my home And I’m all god My friends are non stop But my brother is peacock where I grew up Our languish is ugly He cries in silence And our city has a tan line Different You can’t find the dreams of the boy I tried to make center parting of the culls with hair gel He did the same last year Hiding color map But when he’s grown will he see the tail behind Which he should be proud of picture city ansemalt No matter what you were thinking the hours after it said pang My gray hoodie matches with the slurp The concrete here is feeling less The building we live in is is drenched in fog I’m a peacock I’m a peacock I’m a peacock I’m a peacock My gray hoodie matches with the slurp The concrete here is feeling less The building we live in is is drenched in fog I’m a peacock I’m a peacock I’m a peacock I’m a peacock
To a peacock on its way to the first day of school To her pink backpack That hangs from her small shoulders To her dotted Hello Kitty food box To the blue waves that sleeps upon her dress To her sweet voice when she corrects my broken Norwegian Since I, speak so strange To her white shoes, the yellow book The red bottle, my daughter My peacock The best girl in the whole world Sine her, eats healthy, grows so fast and brushes her teeth Since she can wear all these colors All by her self This is a poem written by Mohamed Ali Fadlabi. He is a friend of Chirag and Magdi (Karpe). They asked him to write a poem that fits to the title of this song "Peacock". He wrote the poem about his daughter. The poem and song was first performed on the memorial concert after the terrorist attack on July 22th 2011.
I understood only word : school but i believe that the people admired , enjoyed and appreciated your real feelings towards your city- I think I met you in Sudan
