My gosh... somebody call the ambulance... It was all fun and games while unboxing section... But the moment you started to show updates.... Im not welllll..... sheeeeeesh.... THEY ARE STUNNING!
I bought my first real anthurium in my last plant mail (forgetti, we won’t talk about my vittarofolium), and I might be obsessed. I needed a fern video today! Got my croissant and banana bread, my cats yelling at me, and finally on top of my plants after a bad depression stint that nearly wiped my collection.
It's a huge source of frustration to me that they don't label their plants honestly :/ gorgeous plants though and you've grown yours over the past year so well!
I just wanted to comment and say how grateful I am for your videos. My husband and I recently got the news that he'll have to go in for another round of chemo and surgeries and - I don't know. Seeing your videos where everything's so calm and beautiful just always makes me feel better. It reminds me to keep getting up and going and checking on my plants and I just wanted to thank you for that.
Kartel is amazing. I absolutely love their anthurium hybrids. I order frequently from them and not one has tanked. Plants are gorgeous and healthy can’t wait to see how these new ones grow for you💚🌸
I really love these heart shaped Anthuriums. You have an amazing collection!!!! May your latest unboxing do well. Love the early beginnings footage. Amazing growth eleven months later. Jaw dropping!!!! My favourite is the Anthurium - King of Spades. Anthuriums give such tropical vibes. 💚💚💚
I love your collection, not just your anthuriums but as a whole; it always inspires me to look for the more unusual or plants I wouldn’t have normally thought of - thanks to you I bought my first begonia a few days ago! My personal favorite is the superbum, it’s a slow grower but their leaves can get so tallll!
Beautiful anthuriums! I love Kartel. I received my first shipment last week, and I was so impressed with the quality of the plants, especially considering that they traveled 13,000 km from Jakarta to Calgary, lol. Interestingly, I've received plants shipped from Canada that looked quite beat up despite the "short" transit. Just sharing my experience. Don't be afraid of ordering, just be afraid of going broke because you'll want to buy everything!
The bold silver veining on the one is stunning. And so is the doriaky. I love the leaf shape. And the venation. Visible venation, big or small just gets me.
Beautiful, beautiful collection!! I have only two ... Crystallinum that is thriving and a Dorayaki that I thought died, she pushed out a new leaf only last week) I've had them for several years!
The super round leaves on the king anthurium 😍 Today I got a standard red flamingo anthurium for £1 off the rescue shelf, I know folk think they're boring but I love the foliage! Dorayaki on my wishlist next!
As an anthurium person I absolutely can appreciate the "ears" on the flamingo anthurium. I got a silver blush x dorayaki as my second anthurium following the flamingo. The difference in their leaf shapes is part of what got me hooked, the round vs the bunny ears :)
Seeing the old videos looking at your much shorter hair is like a time capsule. My sister and I take pictures when she and I get together, and my google photos put a real of the two of us together. It could be labeled the many hairstyles of Lisa. From long and blonde to fuchsia, to shorter to wave and gelled to now it’s short ear length bob. My sisters hair is just long and blonde.
Fern, I blame you! I blame you for forcing me to order 3 Anthuriums this week. And 6 other plants 🙈😄. I’m OBSESSED with your doriyaki silver red crystallinum. If you ever have seeds from that, please let me know 🙏🏻
Beautiful Ant. Minahasa you have there.. I am from Minahasa 😂 it was believed that some pure-breed Crystalinums were brought to Minahasa from S. America by the Portuguese or Dutch colony and they survived in many households and it was rediscovered by plant enthusiasts recently, and they call it Anthurium Minahasa or King Crystalinum.
I'd be tempted to put that moodeanum on a moss pole honestly with how tall its stem is compared to the others! Super impressive how amazing they all look 😊
Those are beautiful!!!!! Anthurium is now my favorite. 😂. The second one looked like a Magnificum I just got one and the leaves look like each other, but no red like yours.
I just did that with my first anthurium, a couple of flamingo plants lol. didn't realize they got bone dry in less than a week after receiving them in the mail. then one I watered i accidentally left it sitting in water all day. on both plants all the leaves are curling up almost completely closing they are both in completely different rooms and I don't know if its from from poorly watering, or from not enough light or humidity or drafts, vents. not idea but its not looking good lol. I knew they were going to be a challenge but figured I'd give it a shot. hopefully they keep their flowers for a while at least.
If you like pink and sparkly veins, you would like A. Michelle. Or Zara. Or Zara x Michelle hybrid. Or them all. 😂 Video full of Anthuriums, ooh la la! 🤩 My fav of your collection is moodeanum. 😍 Dark leaves are my thing! 😊
Oooh i love anthurium so much! Im on the hunt for a seriously dark boi with minimal veins. My current fave in my collection is my forgettii x gigi though, irs so cute!!
Fern I only have a plain old crystallinum..but it seems to have a few babies growing and I don't know if I leave them or try to put them in another pot.. I know waaayyyyyy less then you about these plants. I know orchids 😂 I find the anthuriums all kind look the same.. I just don’t understand the draw..But that’s just me.
I am new to anthuriums (I have had them for over a year but I haven"t done any researching so they are just being there getting watered every now and then😅) My anthuriums are having a hard time. if one leaf emerges, older leaf crisps and dies off... I haven't been doing my best in humidity wise but I envy your anthurium crew😂😂
happy monday fern! i recently passed through some anthuriums planted on the mall that had berries, so i did what any plant person would do and stole some berries 😂 2 of them have sprouted and they’re sooooo cute
Some of them are in Molly’s Aroid Mix and some of them are in my simple DIY mix (soil, perlite, & orchid bark). In general for my anthurium (including the ones not featured in this video) I would say the younger plants do better in Molly’s, but the more mature ones aren’t as fussed with what mix I put them in.
Hi, Fern! Love the update! But can you do another plant fail or rehabbing type of video with some tips? Not that I'm expecting you to fail in your plant care 😁 but sometimes we need that type of video to remind ourselves that it's okay to fail sometimes, we're not alone, plants are living beings that throw tantrums sometimes... Lately I'm quite struggling with some of my plants idk why and the plant videos I come across are always the ones that show how thriving their plants are, plant haul, plant collection, plant tour that mostly show only the good side of their plants 🥲
this is unrelated, but I saw fern using osmocote for her plants as a slow release fertilizer. does someone here has any expierence with it? i'm not sure if I can use it on my aroids and if so, how much. I know there's a manual, but I don't want to risk burn oder something. so, does anyone have a expierence with it? i would be really grateful! also, ofc, i love your vids fern < 3 you made me obsessed with anthurium!
Hi! Thanks for watching :) you can definitely use it on aroids. I *roughly* follow their guide, but honestly just kind of eyeball it now. I’ve never experienced burn from it, but if you’re worried just use a little less. You can always add more in. Hope that helps!
No labels is a big big no no for me when buying anthurium hybrids. It is a very critical information to avoid mislabeling in the future. Is this a silent negative review for the seller?
Damn can we say plant "growers" gone wild? So many people/new companies naming and renaming plants & "hybrids" from pseudo new hybrids plants. All these new plant "breeders"/sellers and implying they're botanist is all craziness and an attempt to profit off of this plant trend befor the plant bubble bust. I cannot pin point which consumers are falling for these rare. new plants and paying high price for plants that 1) Plant hybrids and cultivars take a long time to create in research and establish stable hardy plants 2) A person/company simply crossing plants with hybrids, even more bogus hybrid with hybrid doesn't mean you created a new unstable or stable plant. Without the proper documentation research to show, it is not legit. And this sense of entitlement, in which "breeders" "growers" are naming old plants as if they created a new type of plant in the genus or species is freaking ridiculous but their scam is actually working because people are actually buying "rare' "new" plants is seed and tissue without knowing if they're are consuming a frankenstein plant that can potentially be weak and prone to fungal and viral diseases.
I use tree fern mixed with perlite and a bit of pon, and then I mix that with a normal aroid mix. I was inspired by @youdontevengrowhere and my anthurium have been loving it, tree fern is a bit expensive though.
@@IsabelleHayden-ld1lc Yes yes yes. I throw about 50% anything chunky in there like bark, large perlite, and even lecca then tree fern fiber plus a nutrient dense loose mix like potting soil or worm castings. As of last year kartel daun said they were using exclusively slow release fertilizer, so their soil mix has to be very nutritious. my source for that info is the video OnlyPlants posted 1yr ago at their nursery
