I agree. Karthik Subbraj has good concepts but when it comes to execution idk what went wrong in his recent movies.I absolutely enjoyed Petta until the Petta parak song and Mahan until Sanath's character death. Hope this Jigarthanda Double X will be his comeback. Jagame Thanthiram was overrated as fuck before it released.

Hello VAAISAVADAAL , Mahaan movie is so good and a brilliant work of him in which he conveyed that the "Freedom is not worth having, if it doesn't Include the freedom to do mistakes " said by gandhi. As the movie , only follows this philosophy. Screenplay is also so unique and it didn't make us to feel bored , especially at 2nd half and climax . If you don't like this movie, the problem is with you , not with Karthik subbaraj sir.

Karthik Subburaj is always influenced by Western Classic. Using 80s pistol and cars. Jagame Thandhiram had a poor writing. Mahaan (which is inspired by Breaking bad) failed me in second half in my opinion. Otherwise, he's good filmmaker though!!!!

Im not sure you can say he moved from writing to twists. Pizza is more of a video than a movie. Over half of the story is a lie, this is pretty much dishonest misdirection and breaks some quite basic movie making rules. Except for sethu none of the characters in jigarthanda are rootable. Awful heroine, lame hero. And completely unbelievable plotline that he filmed a movie for months without thinking that he had evidence to arrest the villain (for the record that evidence isn't worth much either but according to the movie it can finish him). By contrast jagame thandirams interval twist lead to some great character work. How many movies do we have where the hero admits he was bigoted when he was king in his turf, and learnt to accept aliens later? Peter is just the hero's foil, hence why he was spared at the end. And a heroine who was actually tough too.
