So far I only have one of the 5 up. ru-vid.comUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe My son ran out of time, with motion detector etc. I have it over my garage door. It works great. Have seen a couple of cats, my dogs, when I am out front. And had a bee buzzing around right in front of it. It works very well. It even shows the neighbour's driveway, but only shows movement just past my own, which is very long. I highly recommend them.
I have the 1080P model and I love it. It is super handy. Thanks for the review, the user manual and documentation is minimal at best. Kudo's to you as I will now be able to finish my install!
Unless you removed my previous comment, I dont know what happened to it? I came back to tell you and your viewers that I received the Camera and am very happy with it! For less than $50 (using your Amazon link) the feature rich camera has all the features you mentioned and most of what I needed. Now I need to find a way to conceal it but allow it to operate so it won't be stolen (along with the on device stored data) in case of intruders…haha!
Not sure what happened. :( I didn't remove it. I usually only remove spam comments. Maybe you could hide it in plain sight. Put some ears on it and it might look like a toy character from a Star Wars movie. 😁 The problem with that is that the thief might think it is cool and steal it.
Ive owned this camera for a few years. Is there a way to have this camera stay on a subject when its moving? Ehat mine does is only follows the subject for a few seconds then it goes back to its original spot.
Thank you for sharing this video with us. I don't have much knowledge on cameras and I purchased this camera. I followed your setup instructions and it work; however, I don't know what type of SD Card you purchased because it is not in your description box. Please help
Great video. Just wondering, what if a burglar comes in and recognizes this camera and took this camera, then, there will be no record of proof? If the motion detector works, will get a notification while away from home, but as soon as I turned on my cell, the burglar took the whole camera, then, there will be no proof?
That is correct with the basic setup. They do have a paid subscription service that stores video in the cloud (www.kasasmart.com/us/kasacare). Other cameras, like the TP-Link Tapo, can be connected to a central NVR (network video recorder) that you would install in a secure location. This way if the camera were stolen, you would still have the video... unless they find the NVR. With a camera like the Kasa, it is best to try to mount it out of reach if possible. You could also try to hide it in plain sight, like in the middle of a bunch of children's toys.
I'd recommend taking the camera very near to your wireless router and configuring it there. Once you've got everything set up, unplug the camera and move it to where you want it to be permanently, then plug it in. It will automatically try to reconnect to the same wifi if the signal is strong enough in that location.
How do you delete the local storage video s history? I have a micro SD card in mine and it recorded a lot of motion detection, but I can seem to delete them
I have the camera and where I once was getting the notifications I’m not receiving not 1 notification and I’m not understanding why I’m not getting any at all what can I do to get the notifications
Just bought the camera for my 94 year old moms room to make sure that she is ok in her assisted living. Cannot get the wi to go on on the camera?? Is that the same Wi-Fi as the assisted living wi fi?? Thank you for any help.
Question: I have my kasa app and I have different zones set. My camera does not record when there's activity in the different zones. It only records where my camera is positioned (ex: pointing at my drive way) i deleted the zones and reset the camera and set up the zones with still the same issue. Any advice ?
I would think it can only record where it views. The different zone are where you can access the camera to that specific spot at the time you want to see a different zone and then it will record that other zone now.
I just wanted to give a reference to distance. I'm guessing it could detect motion at double that distance. That being said, the further something is away, the less detailed it will be.
So this thing has stopped working randomly. I have made no changes but suddenly it is offline now and no matter if I reset it and try to set it up again it works for a minute then goes offline. I’ve only had it for a month and it’s just a piece of junk now. I have reset my router, nothing works it’s right in front of the router and had no issues previously. Would love to know how I fix this crap
This doesn't have a built in battery. You can power it with a USB power bank or portable power station. It draws around .3 amps when idle without and SD card.
It sounds like something may be blocking it from the internet. You could test it by turning wifi off temporarily on your phone. Then see if you can access the camera. If that doesn't work, you may need some configuring of your network. It is hard to say what could be blocking or hindering it.
Do you know if this camera can turn itself on and off through the user's geolocation from either using IFTTT or Google Home? I have a Eufy, and it does use the owner's geo location, but it merely disarms the camera (meaning no alarms or alerts), but a live feed is still active.
