you should always post a picture of a map with route marked, for the reference for the users about the trip. along with it, if you can mark the charging spots on map that will be a wow factor.
Thanks for the feedback Siddharth. I will make sure I do that from the next video onwards. Will check the route for you from Gurgaon to Lucknow and respond to you with the answer on the other comment. Meanwhile, try using this Plugshare portal, it helps in planning road trips. I use the same :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ukG9XOGq2tg.html
@@RahulKaushik09 Thanks for the reply, I just saw one more video of yours where you have provided multiple google maps links to some user in comments reply, then I thought oh wow that's what I wanted. I will check see the Plugshare video now, thanks.
For most of us who has not been to the places that you mentioned, we simply do not understand anything about the car battery consumption which is the most important factor.
Hi Rahul, nice attempt at vlogging. I'm also from Dun and a proud Nexon EV owner. Glad to see a fellow Doonite preparing vlogs on their Nexon EV experiences. Keep up the good work!
Very good video Rahul. The place where you stayed was beautiful. Thanks for touching upon the range issue which I had highlighted last time. I went to Tata service centre and got my car and battery checked thoroughly. They kept the car for three days to do extensive tests. But they stated that there was no problem found in the car nor in the battery. So let's see if summer heat is the culprit of the reason why my car's range has gone down.
Hi Alok, hope you are keeping well. Thanks for sharing the info. Lot of EV owners are complaining about the same thing and we are just in April. Hoping it doesn't go down further in peak summer months of May-June. On the positive side, you got your whole car inspected extensively and its good news that car is trouble free and reliable.
I don't think that India is ready for the Evehicle because frankly speaking the infrastructure is completely lacking. If you expect to customers to invest 17 lacs and then only drive the vehicle in the city and charge it at home, then I think it is completely impractical. Will take another three years to come to a more comfort zone I feel.
We have to understand that there will be no charging infrastructure if EV adoption doesn't increase in India. Whether it's Tata or any other private player like Statiq, Zeon or EESL, the end goal is to make profit. Today they are investing money in charging stations, simply because people are buying EV's and they see a future business propect. If there is no ROI, then investment in business is a no go. Nexon EV is first mass market electric vehicle that people are actually keen on buying. Considering it was launched in 2019 and after that we had two years of covid lockdowns, still the deployments of chargers have been at rapid pace. There will never be a situation where people will stop buying EV's and we will see vast deployment of chargers. If EV sales drop, charger deployment will stop as it will become irrelevant for businesses to invest in it. So these things will go hand in hand.
As a first time buyer should i consider Tiago EV for 60% city and 40% outcity ? I am living in Mohali. Having so many questions if it will be worth buying for outdoor trips in hills and other part of North area?
Hi, great video as always! Could u provide more details about the steep ascent from Panchkula to Kasauli, like percentage battery at start and end, distance, percentage consumption per km etc ?..actually this is very important for early ev adopters in hills. Thanks in advance...
Hi Vikram, Thanks for the support. So when we started from Panchkula, our battery percentage was 95%. By the time we reached the crossing in Dharampur, where you take left for Kasauli, our battery percentage remaining was 55%. From there Kasauli is around 8.5 Km, so another 10% will be consumed. So expect around 50 - 55% consumption, if you start from Panchkula till Kasauli. Now our consumption could be on higher side because of full luggage, 4 occupants and AC working full time at 18 degrees on level 2 or 3 blower speed. But plus point is that you have a Statiq charger in Jabli, which is on road. So you can top up there as well if you need. Going forward we will do a break down of consumption and charging information, that way it will be easy for everybody to plan. If you need more info, let me know :)
What headlamps do you have? They look exceptionally bright.. Super fun video, how would you compare the tyre noise to ice cars? I’ve heard my mates say it’s more irritating because it stands out…
Hi Degen, these are standard headlamps that come with Nexon EV. Using the high beam in some parts which might appear bright. The low beam is a bit weak. Honestly I find the road noise very less. The insulation in Nexon is really good. Tesla Model 3 is way louder inside the cabin and so is Hyundai Kona, both of which I drove. In terms of road noise both Nexon EV and ZS EV are good, the cabin is quiet. They are not some German car's like quiet, but better than many Japanese ones :)
@@RahulKaushik09 thanks for your reply, I actually didn’t mind the road noise in my Model Y so this made me worry less. Your content has been exceptionally helpful in providing an unbiased review and I am truly grateful. Much appreciated!
Thank you so much Vikas. Also congrats on booking your Nexon EV. I hope you get delivery really soon. We are working on that video, and will release it this coming week :)
Very nice video... Just an advice... As There r few hotels who allows to let us charge our car, so pls mention the name of of the resort or hotel in the description ...
Hi Rishabh, you are right. The issue was this was a private property, so we couldn't provide any link or information. But will surely keep your point in mind next time we stay at a place where they allow charging :)
What about AC performance in Delhi/ Chandigarh, asking this because it's dark edition and does this selection has adverse impact, I wanted to know as i booked dark edition ev and i am in Delhi -NCR
Hi, it shouldn't be a problem. Before this trip we went to Gurgaon and posted a vlog of that trip too. AC has never disappointed us, it works very well.
Nice video Sir. Recently got delivery of Nexon EV, decided to buy it by watching your videos and got convinced that it is worth the money. Thanks a lot 😊 can you please shed some light about Extended warranty? Is it necessary to purchase it ? In extended warranty booklet, most of the parts mentioned are for ICE components... Can you please explain, if it is worth buying extended warranty for Nexon EV ? Accordingly will take the decision. 🙏
Hi Vida, first of all many many many congratulations on taking the delivery of Nexon EV. Really happy for you. For now I won't recommend buying the extended warranty. It is too expensive, from the quote I received for additional one year it was 21,599 and for two 29,999, which seems really expensive right now. EV's come with standard warranty of 3 years and 1,25,000, so for now you don't need to get the extended warranty. We will see if prices go down in future and then decide :)
@@RahulKaushik09 Thanks Sir :) , for me the amount quoted was 24,999 for 2 additional years till next 2 months, after 2 months , the price would be 29,999. According to tata motors site, extended warranty increases after 90 days from purchase, So a bit confused.
@@vidabonita8095 I think its still too expensive. You have 90 days, drive the car and see how confident you feel about it. Also in extended warranty, suspension components have limited warranty till 50,000 km only. That is a deal breaker for now. I personally will hold on to see if Tata comes up with better plans.
@@RahulKaushik09 Yes Sir, you are absolutely right, will drive it for few days and will decide then :) Recently watched a video (1 year old) , where a TATA official said that most people were not taking extended warranty for EV , and some were complaining that they need 5 years extended warranty and were ready to pay for it.. and that TATA was thinking of some AMC plan or EW plan for the same. Who knows, maybe they will introduce some plan for EV owners in future :)
Hi Milan, it was a private property. But the closest resort to that property is ITC Forest Hill. Has the same view. Fortune Select Forest Hill, Kasauli www.google.com/travel/hotels/s/JD3yeRZYYJR8T9iHA
I checked through various apps for all the charging stations between Gurgaon and Lucknow. Currently I couldn't find any in Agra where one needs to top up. So don't think its possible to do the trip at least on highway speeds. You have to pretty much drive at speed of 40 to reach your destination. Which is going to be annoying. Hope they setup chargers there quickly, UP has highest numbers of EV in India but charger deployment is really slow, don't understand why.
Hi Raghavendra, If EV's are parked under the sun for prolonged time, then what happens is that battery pack tends to get warm. So to control the temperature inside the battery pack, the car turns on the AC compressor which circulates the coolant through the coils in the battery pack. This cools down the battery and that consumes little bit of energy. If it happens, expect 1% to 2% drop in battery percentage. It also depends on how warm the day is and how many times the cooling system turned on itself. Its common with all EV's including Tesla, which has a cabin overheat protection system. It turns itself on when cabin temperature increases too much. Hope it helps :)
Hello Kishore ji, hope you are doing well. This was a private property where my friend has his house. The nearest resort to this place is ITC Forest Hill. Pretty much same location and same view. www.fortunehotels.in/fortune-select-forest-hill-mahiya.dh.59
Iam a user of nexon ev in shimla it's the worst performer in hills 1.5 %battery consumption per km I have proof on my software of tata app Contact me any time
