I recently watched a first person account of an Italian-American who used to be a nazi/white supremacist (etc.) in his youth. (Luckily he got out of that shit and has become a good person now). Long story short: Anyone can become bad Using one´s ethnic background as an alibi is not sufficient.
@Julia Mimi exactly... a big number of nazi officers fled to Argentina and Kat Von D was born in mexico but both her parents are from Argentina and her last name Von Drachenberg I'm pretty sure is german I think that's very suspicious maybe she was taught this ideology at home
In Mexico, Mexicans who are Nazi sympathizers are mocked by being called "morenazi", a combination of the words moreno (to have tan skin) and Nazi. A lot of them aren't descendants of Europeans, either. I can't fathom how they justify it in their head, they'd be among the first to be killed by the original Nazis...(excuse the use of the term "original Nazis", you know what I mean)
Well the doctor I go to wont let unvaccinated people or children in his place he will tell them to leave cause most of his patients are elderly and children and ppl who cant get shots and I go to his daughter who is a doctor at his place as well and she is just like him.
Maybe a bit unrelated to this, but maybe you could do a video explaining how to do proper research. You said before that anti-vaxxers probably did research but the wrong way. I do think many people do research the wrong way.
@@Pr1ncess1ly I study psychology myself, I get research courses, so I don't necessarily need the video. Although I wouldn't mind seeing some extra tips and tricks. But thanks for the recommendation!
Most pro vaxxers don't do anything but what they are told to do. They don't research or read books or anything. They often don't even know what they are letting someone inject into their children. I have heard "I don't know if they had that one, but they had all their shots".
No they don't "research" they watch quack documentaries, read pseudoscience blogs and have never glanced at a single research paper in their e tire lives.
My mother suffered an injury from the Flu vaccination.... She was hospitalized for 10 months paralyzed from the neck down from the flu shot. She had an autoimmune disease called GBS and CIDP that is a response to this vaccination. She is currently 5 months out of hospitalization and slowly improving but will remain permantly disabled. Through this journey we have not turned to the anti-vax cult ways.... On the contrary we understand how important vaccinations are to our entire society and encourage anyone asking about her story to know the symtoms of vaccine related illnesses. I think people would benefit with the knowledge of what can happen in the case of a vaccine related illness and an understanding of the intervention an medicines that can actually help stop the progression of these responses. Yes, GBS is SCARY. Yes a vaccination almost took my mother from this earth but medicines and medical intervention also saved her. I am a mother of three children who are all vaccinated.
My husband had an older brother who died of anaphylactic shock from a vaccine. I'm sure his parents were terrified to vaccinate their other children but they still choose to vaccinate.
@@kv7310 If she hadn't gotten vaccinated she wouldn't be sick in the first place. No fucking way would I vaccinate if I got GBS. She will now be permanently disabled...over the one vaccine that actually doesn't even work. At least the others work.
NOLA_ Danielle So sorry to hear this happened to your mother. Good that you share this. The problem with vaccines is that they are not studied well beforehand like medicine are. And they are the only ones who are safe from prosecution. They are not tested alongside a saline solution but test with the other ingredients without the virus. I heard some studies last only 5 days! Dell Bigtree is a journalist who covers stories about vaccination. And Robbert F. Kennedy junior is a lawyer and just won a case against Monsanto about glyfosate (a whole different story). He has written a book about this subject. It’s not so much that people are against vaccination as much, more the safety and some other issues. The rich make a lot of people through the many many vaccinations, trying to push more and more. Many do not even vaccinate themselves! And all people unvaccinated seem to be in good health. I’ve met a girl (in her 20’s) who has not been vaccinated and has had 5 colds in her lifetime and did not ever get the flue. Her mom used natural remedies for everything. I used to get 5 colds a year when I was younger!
Vaccine hesitancy, gender critical, race realists. I am so sick of this soft rebranding of dangerous ideologies. Also I wouldn’t be shocked if the controversy was actually hurting the business. A lot of her hardcore, buy every release customers are probably vegan, and vegans are obviously pretty good at not purchasing potentially unethical products. I didn’t buy a lot of her stuff because I’m not a huge makeup wearer but I definitely decided not to try her concealer when looking for a new one recently because of this stuff. Also that bamboo piece could be painted a glossy peacock or Kelly green & be super fun in a mid century Floridian way.
Champagne and Gummy Bears Nah, her band was huge. Considered to be up and coming, edgy. After this, her shit just keeps going sale. Almost all of her recent releases have been panned, big time. While the hardcore people probably still support her, but something like 40% of people supporting her were not hardcore fans or vegans. Just make up lovers (like me). And I (and they I think) would never, ever purchase shit from her when she is promoting dangerous ideals. Especially when there are a bunch of beautiful, amazing vegan brands out there. A lot of people think that she only made this apology because Sephora forced her due to her terrible sales. I hope the financial bleeding part is true because she would honestly deserve it.
ah yeah, knowing that female and male are real biological categories is exactly the same as literal nazis that kill people and anti vaxxers that indirectly kill people is the same thing. bruh if second wave feminists didn't exist, you would have no divorce or abortion rights or laws to protect you from domestic violence and rape. have some respect.
@@shadycatz85 Ah yeah, because we check each other's genitals or chromosomes when we use/recognise gendered terms or facilities, or identities. And assumption that TERFs are derived from second-wave feminists! Wahey:D Btw: transphobia *does* kill.
While there is debate on the subject most US courts will accept letters, signatures, etc along with expert handwriting analysis as primary evidence (primary literally just means it's the original and not a copy) in a case as long as the judge rules the analysis/expert used complies with Rule 702.
When he was 8 years old, my dad contracted Polio. He spent a couple of years in a hospital bed. He then had to learn to walk again. He only told me about it once and it was horrifying and terrifying. Shortly after he recovered, his cousin fell ill with the measles and died. After hearing his stories I am baffled by anyone who'd choose not to vaccinate (medical exemptions aside)
For two years in our old home I‘d always watch/listen to your videos while cleaning. So now when I hear your voice I feel this overwhelming need to clean something 😂😂🙈 Totally random just wanted to share haha :)
Mai KetoSheen curiously, do you buy vegan products? Aha like Veganaise, or mock meats, or ohh vegan marshmallows? Try Dandies marshmallows. They're so so good. ☺
Which she is, her parents are both from Argentina of Italian, spanish, and German descent. She was born in Mexico but Mexico is not a race. She has European White Ancestry and I can only believe that with all of the nazis she surrounds herself with, she prides herself on that White ancestry. Nothing wrong with being proud from where you come from BUT not when it's meant to convey ethnic/racial superiority over others.
But you would have to be born in Europe and then move to Mexico or your parents would have to be European, move to Mexico and then you'd be born there? (In order to be European and Mexican). Right? Cause otherwise... you'd be Hispanic? Mexican is not a race but Hispanic is..
@@evab.6240 ......Mexican is a nationally. There are plenty of families in Mexico (a colonized nation) that have been white since they showed up generations ago.... Hispanic means you come from a Spanish-speaking country.
I convinced my mom to get me vaccinated again for the first time in about 8 years! She was just scared because once one of my younger siblings had a bad reaction to a vaccination (no she doesn’t have autism now, And I don’t remember which one) when she was really young. I got 3 shots yesterday and feel just fine. I plan to get more shots in about 6 weeks to get me up to date. (I’m 16 btw)
@@charlesswedenburg9449 you can get food poisoning and yet people still eat those same meals again. Vaccines work by injecting weakened virus cells into you - getting a mild version of the illness is something that can happen, but it does protect you from the full blown version of that illness and protects those around you via herd immunity. It is still worth getting vaccines even if you have a bad reaction to one. Also, just like food, you can find things in vaccines that you are allergic, intolerant or simply have a bad reaction to. However, just like with food, the answer isn't to never eat again, or to never eat something with any of those ingredients in again. It's to take note of the specific food, or in this case vaccine, you had a bad reaction to and try to work out what you might have had caused it by looking at other foods, or vaccines, you haven't had reactions to, and then be cautious about getting food, or vaccines, in the future with those things in in the future. Almost all medication has potential side effects. Look on the back of a box of Ibuprofen and you'll see loads of symptoms that have all happened to someone at some stage. That doesn't mean if your sibling has a bad reaction to ibuprofen you should never take it. It also doesn't mean that if you have a bad reaction to ibuprofen you should never take different medications. It's the exact same thing. Vaccines are good for you and others around you, but as with literally everything in life, there is risk attached with it. It's not that high and its rarely serious though. Get vaccinated.
Samantha Liggio it wasn’t life threatening in any way, but it’s scared my mother. My sister is completely fine and healthy. Well yes you can have a bad reaction it won’t be life threatening or produce permanent harm to a person and such reactions are very very rare. And the benefits far outweigh the risks
I am not defending KvD, but I cannot be the only person pointing out that the symbol on her husband's neck (in tandem with the lotus) is the svastika, a sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, etc., but I cannot be arsed to read through 600+ comments. The svastika appears on temples and houses in India and Indonesia, as well as on pre-Christian European artifacts. Depending on the source image (Hindu, Buddhist, etc.), the modern hooked cross is flipped or rotated.
She is not Mexican. Her parents were 7th Day Adventist Missionaries doing work in Mexico when she was born. She is Argentenian, , German and a few other things but no Mexican. Very, very odd that she is trying to to pass and deny her German heritage.
The thing is, the majority of the people in the makeup world follow online beauty influencers and many of the top influencers including Jeffree Star, and Tati have made remarks about her being cancelled and referencing her antivaxx status. Her business was plummeting. Her stuff is constantly 50% off at Sephora because it just wasn’t selling fast enough, her makeup has been popping up in TJ MAXX which is better known as “the makeup graveyard”, where brands go to sell cheap when Sephora can’t move the product.
@@aluminium4303 because they are actively supporting her? Mrs Lollyphunk very true, and if it was just the one issue of being linked to Jesse James I would brush this off, but as I assume you watched the video, there is much more linking Kat to antisemitism, sooooo🤷🏼♀️
@@aluminium4303 I get what you're saying. Dolores/Lolita existed as a name way before Nabokov decided to use it in his novel. That tainted the name, though, as people would associate it with the book and its themes. However, it's a bit of a strange and convenient coincidence that a fashion trend that emphasizes childlike aspects bears the name Lolita. Why not anything else? I mean... I doubt there's no correlation there.
@Stevie Swartz I agree with what you're saying completely, but I must say (I think you were saying this anyway, but my dumb ass just gotta clarify) that age-gap relationships are NOT necessarily Lolita-esque or age-based relationships. My boyfriend is 32 years older than me so we have a large age gap, but our relationship was formed in spite of our age, not because of it. Also, age-gap relationships are not, by default, manipulative - at all. By association I know several age-gap couples, and none of their relationships are manipulative. Obviously Nabokov wrote about Lolita and brought age-gap love into mainstream society, but you have to remember that she was, at the beginning (I think - please correct me if I'm wrong), underage. THAT would be damn wrong, at least by today's standards (and definitely by mine).
Lolita is not about big age gaps, it's about abuse and an experiment in how abusers can garner your sympathy via unreliable narration. If you read the first few pages of the novel, the author explicitly states the intention of this novel and warns people of romanticizing it.
As someone who had whooping cough when I was 13 because the vaccine isn't obligatory in the country I was born in(Germany)I don't even want to know how it would be for an unvaccinated baby. I had it for 3 months because we didn't realise it was that and I nearly felt like I was going to vomit my lungs out everyday because of the pain. It shocks me how some people actually think that not vaccinating their children is a positive thing.
Anti-Vaccine is one of the most debated and sensitive topics. It involves the lives and quality of lives of children. It’s better to be on the safe side on matters of life and preventable death. The low and/or nonexistent “risks”of receiving vaccines is far outweighed by the fatal consequences of you, your child, or other children becoming ill.
This was such a rational comment, I feel like if this subject was addressed more like this both sides could actually begin a conversation. Instead of just being angry with each other.
chicgeek95 Yes! More people need to have enough respect for one another to peacefully discus their differences in beliefs. Hostility never breeds compassion and respect.
In German the term “Selektion” is not (solely) linked to Nazi-language. It is used in many instances and has a lot of different meanings, just like the word “selection” in English (which at least to me does not carry a negative implication either, but English isn’t my first language).
The only other option I know it from is natural selection. I haven't really heard it used in another context, the English "selection" would be usually the German "Auswahl".
What other connotation is there for non-German speakers? Unless you believe her German-Argentinian roots are coming into play, but if you believe that, surely the connotation is more likely intended than unintended 🤔
I think it was supposed to be a PR move because she recently came out with some new makeup (the Vegan Love palette...a last-ditch effort to appeal to peoples' ethics I think) and it does not seem to be going well. From my perspective as someone fully steeped in the online beauty community, it seems like a lot people are completely done with her. I was telling my bf the other week that I think it's funny that people who are into makeup are now also really vocal about vaccinating. "I'm into blingy highlighter, colorful eyeshadow and HERD IMMUNITY." Like that. :D Happy to hear your thoughts on this.
Being a POC may effect someone's alignment with nazism. But it absolutely does not effect their ability or tendency to be anti-semetic. (I'm an orthadox Jew for context.) Anecdotal but some of the most anti-semetic things that have ever been said to came from POC.
My oldest is almost 13. When he was born, it felt like the "anti-vax" thing was just starting. I was kind of freaked out and couldn't find very much information about it online at the time. I told my husband and he encouraged me to speak up at our son's first vaccination appointment. He said we should not be afraid to ask whatever questions we had. So, we did. Our pediatrician assured us that vaccinating our son was the best choice and squelched any and all fears we had about whether we we're doing the right thing or not. Our youngest child is now four. When it came time to vaccinate him, I didn't have to think twice. Yes, we wanted him vaccinated. I understand as a first time mother, Kat's nervousness. I just hope she went to a good pediatrician that provided me her with actual facts like mine did. There is a difference in being a little apprehensive and being an 'anti vaxxer"!😂
this has nothing to do with vaccines, but when you were talking women in developed countries safely giving birth, i really think you should’ve mentioned the extremely high mortality rate for both mothers and infants in the united states compared to other developed countries..
That data is highly skewed because while we do have higher mortality, we are also one of the fewest countries in the world that a) considered a 23 weaker viable and has high amount of premature deliveries that are most likely to end up in death of the infant and b) we are also one of the few countries where women wait until an age where they are out of the biological norm to have children. As a biologist, I can tell you women weren't meant to wait that long and thus, there a numerous complications that arise such as preeclampsia, genetic abnormalities of the infant, and increased risk for complications and death .
Also, her husbands tattoo under the neck is a Hindu peace symbol that Hitler took and turned into the Swastika by turning in to the right so it was altered slightly but is always commonly misunderstood because of him and that was what he was going for in taking an ancient symbol of peace and making it evil. If you ever go to India or Nepal you will see this symbol everywhere :)
But still in the west the symbol is most associated with Nazis. I mean he hasn’t expressed any belief in Buddhism or Hinduism and he isn’t Asian so why have a symbol that is most prominently associated with WW2 in our culture?
trayas22 I'm not excusing anyone. However the Hindu symbol dates further back so its ignorant to say that someone who bares this symbol is anti-Semitic or a Nazi and that the symbol can only be associated with that group. However, it's also on top of a lotus which is another symbol of both Hinduism and Buddhism and the dot work in the Swastika is also a Hindu indication. A lot of people get Ganesh or Shiva tattooed without following any belief. Some people just like the tattoo, I disagree with them doing that without belief but again it's their choice. We don't know if Prayers himself isn't following a spiritual path. However, Kat Von D's behaviour is gross.
Okay, but is he Hindu or is he a white Dude in the USA covered in tattoos? Context is key and a neck tat of the swastika on a white dude in the US doesn't scream "This is a symbol of my deeply held Hindu beliefs"
Not trying to defend anyone, but I can't believe no one's pointed out her husbands neck tattoo is a geometric Buddhist tattoo. No idea why he has it, or what his intentions were, but I've met people with pretty much the exact same tattoo (backwards swa.sti.ka) that had 0 intention to be hateful, they just got because it's a sign of prosperity in the Hindu religion.
I didn't know about the lipstick shade name until very recently, and had decided to abstain from purchasing anything from her brands after learning about Prayer's tattoos & seeing them posted on her makeup brand's instagram cuz that felt like a stamp of approval & I was concerned about her potentially holding antisemitic views. But recently, I read a Vice noisey article from last year in which her husband also blames his daughter for being sexually assaulted by his friends... *when she was below the age of consent* and said that she "betrayed" him by her being harmed in that way. So even if KVD's potential past antisemitism was somehow proven to be a case of misinformation (if that were even possible?), I couldn't feel comfortable purchasing anything from any of her businesses ever again as long as the two of them are married (at a minimum), since that money would be supporting him, even if indirectly. I can't ever have good faith in someone who would marry & stand by a person who spouts that sort of victim-blaming (if it was legitimately their choice to stay & they weren't being abused by that partner, anyways)
Yeah, she likely was raped or harassed into it by his gang members. And he choose the side of his gang members. Really says a lot about the kind of person/father he is. He's trash and Kat is trash for marrying him. She's also trash for the nazi and anti vax things.
I'd be careful in using handwriting analysis as proof. Its been shown to be dangerously unreliable in trials. I recommend the show "Adam Ruins Everything" for more info. He has a whole episode dedicated to this.
I had all my shots as a kid, but still got whooping cough. Chances are, the whooping cough would have probably landed me in ICU (or worse) if I hadn't been vaccinated. I make sure I am up to date with my shots. Get your vaccines, jeez. And get your kids vaccinated (if you can) The n*zi thing is just unacceptable. I'm over people trying to excuse stuff like this. I had no idea until her initial video but yeah. She is cancelled.
First off, I love you. Your logic is refreshing. Second, I am pro vax and fully understand their importance. That being said i am hesitant on goverment intervention. Having a governement force me to put something in my body gives me the creeps. Us questioning the decisions of our medical providers is a good thing. Medical error is 3rd most cause of death in US. Drugs have been put on and pulled off the market for causeing harm. I think the medical community should be more transparent and share information/studies/ trials in easy to obtain ways and understand language at drs appointments. Take some of the ignorance away. This may not convince the conspirators but can help regular anxious mothers.
I think in general makeup is suffering, like if you go to sephora all these new palettes like the naked reloaded, all the new anastasia palettes... they are now priced in the low 40s. I remember just a short while ago, a new palette like this would be priced around $50 bucks. I think in general makeup was like a cultural THING and it is getting to be more "meh" like it was years ago, so most brands (with a few exceptions) are feeling the hit. It would not surprise me if kat von d's business is taking such a hit... because of the bad press, she's fallen out of grace with the youtube scene, almost no youtubers (who ARE still doing well) are using her products. If her brand wants to make a come up, she needs to start going after THE INFLUENCERS on youtube as they are controlling makeup purchases at this point in time. That's why jeffree keeps going unstoppable, meanwhile kat's bran is lagging behind. Bad move for her to burn bridges with him, as he ALONE could probably bump her sales a bit if he was still using her products. Jeffree LITERALLY went out of his way to avoid all products from his enemies, like he stopped using toofaced better than sex, stopped using shade and light palette or the tattoo liner, etc. So what should do is target moderate sized influencers, gift them with products, maybe do a few collabs like kim kardashian did, that would bring her back in the spotlight of the makeup world. I mean 5+ years ago, kat von D just putting out a new product was OMG, but these days it's not enough. Makeup has shifted to youtube, they expect a personality with the product, and if the personality sucks, you're in trouble. Even jeffree was able to recover from seemingly devastating blows to his image, and so can Kat if she plays it smart and gives people a reason to like her again.
There are RU-vidrs who have stated that they won’t use KVD products on their channel simply so as not to incite drama. I think it’s too late for her? I will say that I admire her for sticking to her guns. She could do a total backflip, grovel up to everyone, say that she had done the research and vaccinated her child, and then let the dust settle. Instead she’s jumped through a couple of PR hoops and shaken it off - she hasn’t even tried. Guilty, but kind of less shady than pretending to have changed completely in the name of protecting her business interests. It’s a shame. Her signature brow pencil is that good. Smh.
Everyone pulls up the makeup thing. Most people probably assume "Selektion" is just a rebellious way of spelling "Selection", not a German word with evil history. There have been multiple times where I thought I was making up a word, only to realize it's a real word in a different language with a meaning I don't approve of.
If your "side" is to risk the lives of your children and other people who CAN'T receive vaccines for legitimate reasons, then go ahead and fall off a cliff, instead. It's safer for the rest of us. Doctors have already done the research, it's just idiots on the internet who think they know better.
My mother did not vaccinate me. I have never received a vaccination. At the age of 18, I had only been to a doctor one time; it was to Urgent Care because I fell from a swing set and a screw gashed my leg to the muscle. I was also born at home (with a doctor present, just pointing out I had only one encounter in a hospital/doctor setting as an adult). VERY long story short, I have a severe autoimmune disorder. It presented itself when I was 25 (2004-2005). I can't get immunizations because of my compromised immune system. Instead of immunity, I will contract the disease. I get any and every illness that I'm ever exposed to. I can't be immunized for something like Measles. But if I am exposed to it, it could be very serious, even deadly.
As a German I‘d like to add to the countless comments under all the reaction videos: „Selektion“ in modern German is no longer associated to the Nazi vernacular. The first association I had to the term was biology, the second was the same you’d have in English selection=choice. And I consider myself to be fairly educated on German history and also have been dating a German Jew for years and have good connections to the Jewish community. If I couldn’t make the connection between the word and this part of German history as someone who’s native AND a history enthusiast, in my opinion Kat must be given the benefit of the doubt on this point.
Look into her husband's treatment of his teenaged daughter. You can't conclusively judge a person by the company that she keeps but yeah, he's trash and that's what she keeps choosing.
My ex was a horrible person and I wouldn't want to be lumped in as a similar person to him when he was racist and verbally/physically abusive to me.. sone people just feel stuck in a marriage. Though I have no idea who she is or anything like that
Our entire house contents were secondhand, kerbside collection and op shop(goodwill).....was such an awesome thing we did while the kids were dribbling climbing weeing and pooing. Our house was so relaxed compared to people who’s madly renovated and rushed out and bought all new stuff for the impending arrival of babies. Invest in paint and cheap throws to cover or distract from or upcycle your bargain purchases. Also, I love the bookshelf! It’s hella kitsch....have fun with it and go jungle theme with a bright colour and lots of plants.
I don't want to defend Kat von D but she tends to name a lot of her makeup after bands and songs. Selektion is a goth band so it's possssssible she named it after them. She has shades named after Lemmy, Bauhaus, etc. Also I asked my German friend if "selektion" is associated with Nazism in Germany and he said it wasn't unless it's used in that context.
Can you do a video on the channel "Wild We Roam"? The just did a "what I eat in a day video" and it's so unhealthy! They're promoting an oil-free plant based diet. Basically another HCLF diet to their 144K subscribers. It makes me so angry because I feel like these are the type of videos that set ppl up for failure by making them sick. It's these type of videos that make people go back to eating meat AND makes veganism as a whole look unsustainable.
using facist Symbols as a Fashion Statement or to be edgy is disgusting and makes you a bad, dangerously thoughtless Person. I think it can totaly be held against her, that she doesnt mind this behavior in someone associated so closely with herself.
I always make the comparison to the dangers of driving, i find it so obviously similar to vaccinating. It is possible to have a major accident and get severely injured or killed, but we all still do it daily. We put our newborns in it. All of our children. Daily for years and years. We try to minimize any risk by using seat belts and kid seats. By driving sober and carefully, by respecting the traffic rules. But there is still a chance to have a crash, even when you are not at fault. And why do we all do it? Because it is convenient! Not life saving, not really necessary. Just convenient. When we vaccinated our baby we knew there was a very, very small chance she could get sick or die from it - yet we consciously took that risk because the benefits outweighed it by far. The likelihood of that happening was very little. And i knew if my child otherwise fell ill with even a non deadly infection like the rota virus, i could not forgive myself to have let my baby go through something like that when i had the chance to avoid it. And i knew she could get injured or killed by one of those diseases if she got infected. Which is far more likely. So what is there to still think about? I truely dont understand the logic of antivaxxers.
Emiliana Totally agree with what you’re saying. In many ways, we constantly put our lives (& children’s lives) at small/minor risks each day - even just eating out at a restaurant that you’ve been to a million times before could still lead to food poisoning (I got an EXTREME case of food poisoning a few months back from a place we’ve been to countless times, over numerous years). Not everything is necessarily life or death of course - but it can depend on the person and their wellbeing (back to food poisoning, we had a spat of contamination’s last year that did result in a few deaths, predominantly in the elderly). Gosh, just go on an overseas holiday via aeroplane and you can’t be 100% sure the plane won’t fall out the sky no matter how small the chances of that occurring are. When it comes to vaccines, obviously there are cases where children have had negative affects from them, but this farrrrrrrrrr outweighs the amount of children that don’t have any negative effects. Pretty much everyone I know, adult and children, have been vaccinated, yet I have never spoken with anyone first hand that has had obvious and clear negative impacts from a vaccine.
@@RhiReviews RIGHT?! it is *impossible* to completely secure your children. They could die every day from something you chose to do or you exposed them to. Food poisoning is a great example! I think of all the kids (me included), who are allowed to eat unbaked cookie or cake batter with raw eggs, although it has a realistic risk of illness and death than any vaccine. Or every time i put my kid in someone else's care - they could injure or kill them accidentally and it would have been MY choice to let that happen. I just dont understand the logic of not vaccinating your child compared to everything else we decide for our children. They could have a an allergic reaction to the strawberry you gave them! I mean, we all just have to live with the reality, that we decide pretty much everything for our kids for many years and with every single decision we agree to a certain fatal risk. We HAVE to! Most of those decision are not even necessary for their life, but contribute to their development of independance and self esteem. Which is crucial for a good life later on! Why on earth would i decline a vaccine (which is there for safety, not convenience), that has a very minor risk of injury, but saves from a far greater risk of illness? Its like not putting on a seat belt, because it could choke you to death in case of an accident. I, too, have never ever met an adult or child injured from a vaccine. The parents who claim their children got hurt from it, are reaching for correlation. I have read many posts of parents that say their kid changed personalities after a vaccine. Or miraculously started to get sick afterwards. I cannot count the times our daughter switched behaviours during her development and felt like a different kid for a while. Or was suddenly ill or something. How on earth could i blame it on the vaccine?!? I would need to blame it on everything i expose her to. It just doesnt make sense on a huge scale. Its really strange how anti vaxxers dont get it at all!
I commented on ready to glares video as well: even with „Selektion“ being a weird thing to name your lipstick, it isn’t a nazi-term necessarily- rather it shows how nazis treated the people in concentration camps as lesser humans, because the word if used describes a selection of things, i.e. vegetables or cattle. There would have been more distinct words and even alt-right codes to name a makeup product
Also she was born in Mexico but her parents were Argentinian missionaries of German *cough* Spanish *cough* Italian *cough* descent. She's not a Person of Colour and her claims to this are at best delusional.
If you go look at kat von's old pics before she got older you'll notice her skin is pale and if you compare you'll also notice she tans alot to look that dark skin..
i am pro vax, but i wish the state would provide more support for those very few who are affected pe vaccines, and at least people aknowdledge the fact that the vaccine did play a role in whatever complication a certain baby had, if it did. Here in Romania most people believe that there is no way vaccines could cause any harm. And having a close family member whose brain function was affected by a vaccine, hearing people laugh at others for thinking vaccines may indeed affect a very small portion of those taking them, is just plain rude. I really like the way you framed the issue, as to include those very few too. Thank you
I would like to add for everyones benefit that getting your child checked for allergies before getting them vaccinated can be really beneficial. It prevents a lot of sevear reactions to vaccines by making sure you avoide the ones your child is allergic too. There are alternative vaccines to those vaccines you can get insted, though they are a little more expencive. Just take the time to do the tests. It’ll help your peace of mind.
MissCaraMint Yeah, waste time and money on unnecessary tests that are not only painful they won’t help determine GBS reactivity OR vaccinate your kids, sit the 15 minutes in the lobby and move on.
Her bizarre "damage control" video just made me distrust and dislike her even more. I'm so done with her. Always enjoy your videos, Swayze, and hope you and your family are well.
She has such a huge following of anti vaxxers now, if she did end up vaccinating and announce it, those followers would come for her HARD. I don’t think she’s ready for a second round of outrage 😂
i think she made this video because her sales have dropped... very influential people like James Charles who's big in the makeup industry, have spoken against her because of her anti-vaxx views.
I used to be a die hard fan of KVD because her makeup stuff looks cool and it was cruelty free etc. But since the vaccine thing I stopped and I never knew about that shade and the anti-Semitic stuff. On the bright side, now that I don't feel the need to buy her stuff, I buy a lot less makeup and I've been able to waste my money on other stuff :D
I am tired of people defending the swastika claiming „It‘s an ancient hindu/buddhist symbol“. It doesn‘t matter! It is illegal here to show *any* form of this symbol. The ancient turned version is illegal to be displayed here too and tattoos of this symbol have to be covered in public by law. Why? Because (neo) n.a.z.i.s. actually use this older turned symbol too! The version of the 30s is illegal for a very long time and then n.a.z.i.s. used the turned ancient one defending themselves by saying it is an old religious symbol which is ridiculous because they aren‘t hindus or buddhists and it would have been cultural appropriation anyways. But it‘s a fact that they used to „disguise“ their views by using this instead and therefore the hindu swastika is illegal here too because it does have an appeal in the n.a.z.i. scene. Obviously we are more observant concerning their symbols whereas other countries don‘t even know how they disguise themselves and how they recognise themselves. The display of numbers such as „81“ or „88“ can be illegal here too under some circumstances and certain combinations of letters and numbers are forbidden on license plates on cars. All for a reason! Because they use certain numbers or signs in their „scene“ it is known here. I have the feeling many people in the US are so oblivious about these things. I don‘t think they are „being edgy“. Too many „coincidences“ for my taste. Seems she has ties to that scene. I am tired of people defending apparent signs.
It is actually really, really, *not* fine to "hide in the herd". Many Australian adults are going to have to have a Measles/MMR booster thanks to people who think like that this Sthn Hemisphere Winter. We've had a significant resurgence of Measles in the state I live in because of those who attempt to exploit that very loophole. I don't want to feel responsible for someone else's child getting sick and possibly losing their hearing or life, so I'm going to be one of these adults. Not vaccinating & implying that it's fine (or worse) is just so stupid. How many times do these tropes need to be debunked?
The swatiska is a reversed version of a Buddhist symbol! They stole that symbol from Buddhism. You can find images of Buddhist statues with that symbol on it. Her husband's tattoo even has it coming out of lotus. He's not being an edgy Nazi.
I agree with you but had to mention that Swastika is the original symbol, the name of which comes from Sanskrit. The reverse is whatever the Nazis used, and it's a shame that it is often confused with the original symbol which has beautiful meanings.

I believe her husband's tattoo is supposed to be the original swastika found in Jainism and other religions, originally being a symbol of the four states of existence. That being said, living in the western world and understanding cultural context, getting something like that tattooed on your body is still in EXTREMELY poor taste.
Isn't a backwards swastika a Hindu symbol for well-being and prosperity? I don't think her current husband's tattoo has anything to do with antisemitism ?? But yeah, I used to really love Kat von D, but she seems VERY problematic - after her anti-vaxx comments on instagram during her pregnancy, I decided it was time to unfollow her because YIKES.
I'm pro-choice, people can do as they please and what feels right for them. However, I haven't been vaccinated in over a decade as they cause me negative repercussions (vomiting, fever, loss of sight etc). I've only been sick once in 5 years after over working, under sleeping and under eating. This is just my personal experience and am in perfect health without them. However, everyone's body is different. Always seek professionals and scientific information.
Her husband’s tattoo isn’t to be edgy I believe it’s a Buddhist symbol. If you research it that symbol was hijacked by the Nazis so I don’t think that should be an issue. Also her husband is part Jewish that’s why he has the Star of David.
I was was born in a very poor country and unfortunately we didn't have all the vaccines that there are now so I only had my Polio vaccine when I was 7, it worked but I know people who had it. Because there were no mumps vaccines , I got it when I was 17 and luckily for me I am a girl. Both my sister and my brother had hepatitis when they were kids and they spent a lot of time in the hospital to cure it. My cousin had meningitis when he was 10. He survived. One year later he was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia that doctors said it was probably the meningitis that caused it. He died when he was 13
Re: current husband's tattoo - that's an ancient swastika symbol, doesn't have anything to do with the ideology. It's been modified and appropriated by the Nazis. As much as it's a weird tattoo for a Latino (?) man to have, it doesn't support the point because, in the form that he has on his body, it's a symbol of divinity and spirituality.
I was vaccine hesitant most my life, it was actually your videos that helped me to understand them a bit better. I'm completely for vaccination now, which took a lot of thought, and checking my biases.
About swastika: it is an acient symbol symbolizing peace, happiness and wealth etc. Archaeological findings have been dated back to 5000 BC. Swastika as a tattoo might not have anything to do with Hitler’s Germany (but in these days most people really don’t care). It is still used in Finlands president’s flag and flags of Finlands air forces (and yes Finland was Germanys sidekick in WW2 as well at Hanseatic League).
She has always come across to me as quite immature, somewhat unintelligent, gullible, dishonest, grossly self-absorbed and highly emotional and reactionary.
I knew Kat Von D was slightly strange but the reality was a whole other level, i knew nothing of the anti semitism etc. Luckily have never bought anything from her ranges and NEVER WILL
I don't think anti-vaxxers are evil, I think people who well educated on the topic, I.e. doctors, who know the research, are evil. Vaccinations should not be a matter of choice in my opinion primarily because it affects virtually everyone else the child may come in contact with.
Wasn’t the backwards swasticka (idk how to spell it) originally a spiritual Indian symbol? Could that bee why he had it tattooed? To give it back it’s meaning? Hmmmm
I think the anti-vax thing is actually hurting her business, because more than a few beauty channels have actively mentioned they won't use her because of the anti-vax thing, which probably has had a follow on affect, because their audience now know, and they'll mention it to their friends etc.
