The Nikitin family explore Kata Tjuta / The OLGAS and complete the Valley of the Winds Walk in the Uluru - Kata Tjuta National Park
It is a 7.4km grade 4 circuit walk that takes you through the Olgas and to 2 main lookouts..
The origins of Kata Tjuta date back to around 500million years, around the same time the Australian Continent was formed.
Back then, the newly formed Petermann Ranges were similar in height to the Himalayas but due to a lack of plant cover, they eroded fairly quickly.
Australia back then had a giant in land sea called the Amadeus Basin and all the run off from these ranges deposited rock and sandstone to the base and river systems below the ranges.
This rock and sand was under so much pressure that it changed the sediment to rock. The sandy section became sandstone which is Uluru, while the rocky section became Kata Tjuta.
Thank you to all those who have liked and subscribed and we look forward to sharing our future adventures with you.
Filmed on a Go Pro Hero 10.
