Besides, his voice sounds just like his voice. He doesn't sound AT ALL like let's say the singer of Sylosis or Eluveitie. They growl yet keep their vocal signature. What do you mean by "this genre"? @flatronl1915SLG It's called GROWLING, not roaring. And obviously if you are not used to music where the vocalists growl, you probably won't like it. It takes some time to get used to. It's what fits this type of music. If you don't like it, stick to Justin Bieber and Lady GaGa.

the whole album is shockingly bad. it feels mediocre, uninspired and lazily put together. nowhere near the genious of In Shadows and Dust. Huge disappointment.

Mustaine wasn't that influential. Venom and a bunch of European bands had been playing thrash at least two years before any of the Big 4 ever formed. Metallica and Slayer and Anthrax may have made it popular in the states but as far as the invention of it goes Mustaine did nothing. If anything most of today's metal can be attributed to Venom since thrash, black and death metal were heavily influenced by them. Plus the three kings of Germany made better thrash than the 4 at the same time anyway.

@mquirk00 when did i ever say i didnt like their old style? i just think its retarded that people start bashing a bands left and right just because they changed a bit. i hate bands that completely alienate their fanbases and just change into a completely different sound, but i dont think that´s the case here. if they remain good even after they go through a change, i´ll like them. and you have to admit that kataklysm have a pretty unique sound, when they had Sylvain that wasnt exactly the case

That would make you an elitist to metal bands that have softend up. So, if you like them either way,fast,or slow,technical or not technical.That means you have no opinion at all on this band,(much like a groupie chick ,or fan boy). When you love a band unconditionally,.. that freaks me out.

The truth is their previous album Prevail dissapointed me a little , it sounded quite week for kataklysm . Throughout the years , ok the sound of Kataklysm has changed and has become more groove , but they continued to sound brutal like "in the arms of devastation" , but something tells me that their new album its going to dissapoint me again. thats a pity , but it something that happens , like Belphegor another fav mand of mine , that their latest video reminded me of Rammstein :-(

O_o the hell...crap...I can't remember why i'm getting death metal in my recommendations box now -.-; I hate the stuff. Albeit, I do admit (before the flames come for me stating such a thing) that the visual aspects, at least on some of the videos, is top notch. I may personally believe it's...not really music (okies, I can also admit the 'early' deathmetal stuff turned me off to it, ya remember the kind, screaming about killing or raping cats, ect ect), so probably should give it a go, but meh.

@stellarbotosi2 More than likely. I mean, yeah, I'm a huge fan of nice breakdowns, but if the instrumental work in the verses and choruses are good enough, you don't need a breakdown. But if you like metal, there's no possible way that you can say you don't like Kataklysm.

@PercivalBlake Be quiet! Kataklysm are still fucking incredible even with their success! Maybe you're just being too picky. Sure this isn't the best song off the album but Kataklysm are still heavy and they still make great songs.
