Thank you. I'd rather focus on just forging blades and tsuba. But there are no craftsmen in my country to make the other parts. Only my wife is a togishi. I have to do the other parts myself.

Je to proces ochrany a doplňování uhlíku. Tento typ oceli je náchylný ke ztrátě uhlíku při vysokých teplotách. Hlína chrání před přístupem kyslíku. Sláma je uhlík, který ocel přijímá.

Для меня непонятно как можно взять куски сырого железа с непонятным химсоставом, и в итоге привести это все в клинок с заданными свойствами.
Very nice work, beautiful tachi and the result was spot on! I was wondering about the geometry of the ha when you were grinding on your belt grinder, did the belt have any slack in order to achieve a convex grind or straight on the platen (v shape, flat side grind)?
The steel plate behind the belt is not straight at the top. There is a dent. For shaping hiranika. Additional rounding is created by removing the flat surface on the blade after hardening. There is about 2mm of material. When I sharpen it, there will be more room to create a hiranik. Of course, the rest will be adjusted on water stones.
I understand. My 12-year-old son filmed it. It's hard to convince him to use a tripod. Actually, it's hard to convince him to pick up a camera and film something.
