What a gift. For so many that have loved Kate for decades and had no way of attending the concert. Thank you so much, this is fabulous. I know if I had been there I would have been in tears from start to finish. Her ability to express the very essence of human experience in all of it's beauty, flaws, sadness and joy is truly magical. Her music often has me sobbing uncontrollably. I love it.
You would indeed. I cried all the way through, but so too did everyone else around me. We'd all waited for 35 years and thought it would never happen. Far and away the most emotion-soaked gig I've ever attended.
Thank you so much for posting this! I’ve been a U.S. Lionheart since 1979 and never thought I’d see her perform live but I did. That one night in 2014 now seems like a dream, but this takes me back and to my favorite part of the concert. The third act was like taking part in a mystical, occult, and ravishingly beautiful pageant, with the most extraordinary creatures passing by. Thank you for breaking the rules! ❤️
*_mommy. daddy. the day is full of birds. sounds like they're saying words_* I was listening to this in early 2006 when I got the call that my dad passed away. I knew the call was coming. This album soothed me so much during that time. I still can't hear that opening quote without crying. It's so innocent, so beautiful, so pure
"The day is full of birds" Something about heating those words always made me cry too. Every single time. I never really knew why. I just accepted it as simply Kate's ability to reach into my soul with her words as she does so often. Your description of innocence, beauty, and purity is so perfect, and perhaps that's why I also cry. But for me also because her words are so very true. When you take notice and are consciously aware of the daily sound of birds, from dawn until dusk, it's truly amazing how full the day really is. I'm sorry the words associate for you with your father's passing, I understand and send warm wishes to you.
I played this album over and over when it came out. Many drunken nights sitting in my living room contemplating just where life was at. It was absolutely fabulous hearing this live at that gig. Goodness knows how I managed to get a ticket as it sold out within minutes of going on line. I believe that was almost something the universe had to give me maybe?
Before the Dawn n'est pas de la musique, c'est de la pure poésie L' émotion est derrière chaque note Tout en regrettant le manque d'images, je comprends l'artiste créatrice Merci, Kate
I am so grateful and so is my best friend, who's been waiting so many years to see this. She's losing her vision but can still make out enough that with my help/descriptions, she is having a wonderful experience. Thank you always!!!
The first encore was actually a piano and vocal solo performance of "Among Angels". You could have heard a fly drop during the performance - people were literally enraptured.
I was so lucky to be able to go to her concert in London. It was such an emotional moment and an experience I will treasure forever. Thank you for posting. I still live in hope that she will release a DVD of the concert…eventually. X
Maybe Kate will finally release a dvd/blu ray of the show now that she knows America has embraced her and is inducting her into the Hall of Fame! One can hope! I have a dvd of the complete Tour of Life concert from 1979 and yes it took decades but it happened.
I tried to get tickets. Online and by phone, then I was cut off from both and they came online later for over £1500 a ticket, which I could not afford. So this is wonderful, thank you Dave. It is much appreciated.
Thanks Dave for posting! I have been a huge Kate fan since 1978 from The Kick inside LP, she is definitely one of my top 5 artists. I had consider going to the 2014 tour and spending a ton of $$ traveling from the states but it sold out so quickly. My wife recently (2024) asked how many times I have seen Kate. I explained that there has only been 2 tours - 1979 and 2014. Thats a big fat -0-. I understand why Kate doesn't want to release the DVD because you loose the Live experience however maybe a limited theater release would be a nice compromise
Man this last third part hits so freakin hard. I knew that record was good. Listened to it at least a few times. Grew up on her. I’m 40. But I’ve had this in my head for DAYS!!!!!!!!!! And I almost got a tattoo of the back of the whole story record. I really love this though and I couldn’t get into the red shoes at all
Omg Dave you’re my new best friend thanks for posting these I’ve tried to explain to people what it was like but how could you ? Art, theatre, music etc I’d love to see the ninth wave
I cant watch this out of integrity and to offer Kate that I love so much the dignity of respecting her view and request at the time. I was in hospital when these gigs occured. I had good reason to go but nearly died after being hit by a car on the pavement. Still incant watch. Ive learnt not everything is for me. Nearly dying will teach a person such depths.
gee ! i got a youtube ban for putting the show up the next day. wasnt a huge fan but had to go. no ticket so i broke in through 4 lines of security, last one on my hands and knees. bootlegged the show and videoed the end from the balcony and then found i had fallen in love with her ! For anyone in London or s e check a band called cloudbusting. very good cover playing soon at the half moon putney.
Thanks for uploading! I was there on the 10th Sep in the third row from the front and it was a night I’ll never forget. I know you’ve broken Kate’s rules but I’m glad you did. I think it was so sad that she didn’t want to release the footage. Edit: The puppet… Why tho? 😅
@@al1b203 she hv all the records from that night sitting on her desk right now. Have a listen here, it's such a great Interview ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dd0V1tONWxQ.html
Thank you for this Dave. Never made the shows but have listened to the live album over and over, wonderful to finally have the stunning visuals. Some of my favourite parts are when she sings with Bertie at the end of Sunset and his solo song Tawny Moon, which are missing here sadly. Are you able to upload those parts please? ❤
Thanks for sharing Kate bush is really a genius but she is very selfish for prohibiting us from having access to watch the show. I suppose she didn't like to watch herself on the official footage for DVD and decided no one could see it. I love her music but hate her. I have the third part of the show from internet and recorded from mixing desk i think, great quality.
Nice! "Before The Dawn" is incredible on vinyl (so is the studio album of Aerial), thanks for providing some visuals. Did you have a video malfunction for Tawny Moon and Nocturn (my favorite)?
OMG thank you for uploading this! Sunset 20:05 is one of my favorite songs in the Aerial album. Her voice unfortunately is not as good as it used to be or maybe it's the way she sings it - more slowly, not as good in my opinion.
I appreciate you taking the effort to record this part of the show. It’s still one of my favorite song sequences by the great Kate Bush. Unfortunately the least visually interesting of all the clips I have seen to date. Not much going on and I found that dummy really annoying after a bit, the puppeteer doesn’t bother to clothe himself in black and hide himself, so I see a man making the puppet boy move. And did you realize you had the camera at such a severe angle? I kept expecting the performers to go sliding off the stage to the left! Thanks for trying.
Seems stupid to say PISS OFF, really doesn't fit at all, as it's her son I suppose he thought it was a good idea and she let him keep it in, who knows, but it was more Oxford revue /Am-Dram than quality theatre... far too many reasons I suspect for not releasing this on DVD and this being one of them.
