By this point in the concert I was in tears. I just couldn’t stop quietly crying. It was like being in Kate’s living room and having this wildly intimate experience. And, also this spiritual experience. It wasn’t just a concert. It was art. It was Kate. Thanks Dave for capturing it. 🧡
Same here. And so was the big burly guy sitting next to me. I shared my Kleenex with him! We were all so moved and stunned by the art, beauty and love by the intermission.
Miguelito, I could not have said it better. I had allowed myself absolutely NO expectations about the show, because I wanted to be there in the moment and not feel disappointee about anything. I should not have worried : this concert was a spiritual experience, in no small part because of this song.
i think all of us that were there were totally in tears by this point. such a magical experience to see her in person. i'm still in awe in 2022 that i got to be there.
@@DannyDiess It was definitely a dream come true for those of us that thought we'd never see her and weren't old enough (or on the right continent) to see her in '79.
You can tell how overcome with emotion she is performing The Morning Fog. It must have felt a lifetime ago that she recorded The Hounds of Love. And now, full circle with her son, she has the pleasure to sing its joyful message again.
Two of the greatest moments of my life were my uncle taking me to see the Tour of Life in Stuttgart in 1979 and attending Before the Dawn on what would have been my uncle's 80th birthday. It is such a shame Kate has become even more of a perfectionist and won't allow the video recordings of Before the Dawn be released for all of her fans that have never had the chance to see her perform live.
I love this. The memory of the wave of love rushing towards Kate throughout the show from everyone there. Never experienced like it before or since. Just beautiful.
I attended the final performance. It was truly a spiritual experience. Two things amazed me - the magic of having two different drum kits thundering the rhythms - and Kate's voice, not just beautiful but really strong - I never imagined her voice would be so strong. When she rocked out it really rocked. Actually, literally, magical. I think everyone left changed.
I don’t do it much, but I think I would probably have cried at this point in the show if I had been there. I think it is my favourite song of hers and it’s arranged so perfectly here. She is the genius artist of our times
When she sang "I love you:, and the crowd welled up in response, you know they wanted to return the gesture. She seems like she means it, and is so worthy, and we are so glad to have an example before us that allows a child-like reverence to happen.
At 2:40 look how she closes her eyes and holds the microphone near to her heart after she sings “I’ll tell my mother… I’ll tell my father”. I guess that she was remembering her parents, specially because of the song's context.
She had the best band I've ever heard - I mean her drummer and percussionist Mino Cinelo were just out of this world! It's a shame really that she didn't take the show worldwide and do limited runs in other cities because so many people missed how amazing it was.
I’ve been waiting for eight years to see some of this footage. Thank you! Just to conjure the intense emotions of that show….I’ve never witnessed anything like it and probably won’t again. Wish I could see the whole first act again.
@@janewright2800 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cbhv7urKuLc.html it is kinda blocked in a few countries, maybe VPN set to America bizarrely
This was such an unexpected highlight of the concert, especially after the emotional turmoil of the whole Ninth Wave segment of the concert. Everyone that I know who seen these concerts mention this song as a personal favorite moment. The new arrangements truly highlighted the wave of love and gratitude that lie at the core of the song. Watching this clip brought tears of joy to my eyes - I know Kate didn't want such clips going around, but I still want to thank you for posting it.
I was there and I swear that during this song there wasn’t a single dry eye in the room. She was beyond amazing and one could palpably feel her excitement at all the love poured on her by us lucky ones. What an artist ❤
He was incredible on drums in Kate's BTD shows. His playing was the foundation of the sound and Kate acknowledged the role of the drummer for these shows in the programme.
I attended this show along with closing night. Pretty much a blubbering mess all the way through this one so great to see be able to come and see it again here! Thanks for posting ♪
I cried and cried at the show..it really touched my heart and soul. Memories of meeting Kate and seeing her live in 79. This show was just as spectacular. Love you Kate!x
"The Morning Fog" has always been one of my favourite moments of the Cd set. To see some actual footage of the performance is so heart warming. Having never seen Kate live in the flesh, it would be so precious to own "Before The Dawn" on Blu-ray 🙏🙏🙏💗
Thanks Dave for sharing this precious moment to numerous people, like myself who could'nt go to this concert ! A very moving rendition of this song "Morning Fog" :)
That was lovely. Thank you so much for sharing. I love the live cd that was released from the shows, but I really wish the initial plan for a concert film had come through. Maybe one day she will decide to release it from the vault.
Si ça ce n est pas un moment de grâce ...suis fan depuis ma première écoute d une de ses chansons étant ado ,suis toujours sous le charme à 45 ans ,elle est d une poésie et d une créativité ! Hallucinant !
Dave, you are the only one in the world who was able to provide something the equivalent of a Before the Dawn dvd. Is this video from you at the show? I want more!
She is and always will be a true musical pioneer. On a funny note though, I couldn't help thinking it looked like Ricky Gervais on the acoustic guitar behind her!!
Imagine, as a regret in life, and as a life long fan, not being able to see this show, knowing it was professionally filmed, then archived because the artist believes, "the CD is, in a way, much more representative of being at the shows than a DVD"….wait! …. That’s me!!!
Hello! Am hoping you see this. I am helping to research a book about Kate and there is a BTD section. We are missing a few songs and we just cannot find them online. Would you happen to have Lily, King of the Mountain and Nocturn? We are desperate to see them! Happy to talk over email. Liz
