One person in the crowd was interviewed by this performance, he said that it was magical or something like it but he said it was amazing but sad she didn’t win it. He’s right because her songs and looks for the kick inside was perfect for Japan because she styled herself like it and she really enjoyed being there. But the thing that made herself seem Japanese was the album cover which had a kite and background Japanese like. Seems like no wonder the crowd went crazy for her because she is so unique and they can agree because of it. Rock on Kate!
Lyrics Moving stranger does it really matter? As long as you're not afraid to feel Touch me, hold me, how my open arms ache Try to fall for me How I'm moved, how you move me With your beauty's potency You give me life, please don't let me go You crush the lily in my soul Moving liquid, yes, you are just as water You flow around all that comes in your way Don't think it over, it always takes you over And sets your spirit dancing How I'm moved, how you move me With your beauty's potency You give me life, please don't let me go (please don't let me go) You give me life, please don't let me go (please don't let me go) Oh, you give me life, please don't let me go You crush the lily in my soul Soul
Saw an earlier comment about wondering if this was lip-sync. It isn't. Kate's inflection on various words within the performance have zero resemblance to her studio recording. As for the comment about her interpretive dancing - "Moving" is a tribute to her dance teacher, Lindsay Kemp. So, yes, Kate is going to 'move' like she does in every video she has ever done. Thank you, Mr. Kemp.
No.1 as a single in Japan on the strength of a (this?) TV appearance. I can't begin to imagine the minds Kate must have blown out there. It's tough enough for me 40 years later to take this in as a child of Western culture. Magnificent.
I don't think you mean it to be, but that is kinda racist to say, mate. Eastern society isn't much different to ours and you saying that 'imagine the minds kate must have blown out there' makes these normal people seem other and slightly dehumanising. Just to let you know in future.
I don't know what are you actually trying to imply but hits in Japan around 70s and 80s were just so sophisticated. Besides people listened to very expressive music back then. Even now lyrically well written alternative rock/pop songs are the mainstream there among adults rather than jpop.
We can but hope. After all, Elvis and Roy Orbison were treated to the backing of a full orchestra for recently released albums: it woukd be wonderful to hear the combination of Kate's original voice tracks added to an orchestra
@@levisjeans1901 I have both the Elvis and big O Royal Philharmonic albums and they are ace. Also where does the time go? can't believe i wrote that 9 years ago, lol
I am Japanese & was a long time huge fan of hers back then .I know she had cult fans in Japan ,but I doubt if she is famous in Japan anymore ,she wasn't famous in Japan. Kate had commented this performance was not satisfactory. After she was awarded “Silver madal”, Kate criticize the level of this Japanese TV show. …Maybe, Kate will never visit Japan again, unless some talented Japanese artists will appear…
WalkingBlues Sorry. I couldn't find the link. I read the liner notes in Japanese Lp. Kate Bush is, as already known, perfectionist. All carrier of her works, she devoted herself to not only music but also entertainment. I have trust her since her appearance in music scene. Right ?
That's very understandable & agree ,but she should had understood ,every country has different cultures & tastes & styles ,they preferred someone else !And she can't have it all the way she wants ! But, almost every award is fixed anyway in the world.I was a huge fan of hers since the 1st album & Japanese ,btw.💜🥁🎵🐉🎤🎶💞
@hisayo Yes like David Bowie did. But, I believe that was a lot to do w/ a death of lighting person worked for her 1st / last concert tour til recently . Not just Japan ,she did stop going on tours ! Btw.,I'm Japanese, sorry ,but got no means to flip my language on my phone.💜🥁🎤🐉🎵🎶💞
I found it graceful, elegant and sexy all at the same time. Like most things she does, although on other pieces she also incorporates humor and fear into her choreography.
