Not quite…. But it is up there as pretty much perfect for the time. If she’d written it with 100% real instruments from the get go… I’d give 20/10. The melody and lyrics are timeless. The production isn’t unfortunately imo.
I guess some people don't see the raw, exposed ,emotional beauty in a song like this because they have the emotional depth of a muddy puddle, which makes me sad for civilization... Some people don't identify with real empathic emotions, can't communicate them, dismiss them. They just don't relate. It's human behaviour and the world at large...unfortunately. I do get a bit deep. This literally makes me cry instantly..and I'm not ashamed of it.. Just perfection. Kate Bush is an incredible woman that effortlessly displays real beauty and delicate emotion both inside and out...❤
“I know you have a little life in you yet, I know you have a lot of strength left" this song hits me on so many levels in my life right now i can’t even describe it.
I was surprised to read that it only peaked at #25 in the charts at the time but then I remembered it's Kate Bush & everyone already had the album because when Kate releases an album you don't wait, you rush out to get it straight away because you know it will be exceptional.
@fairy.4313 Sang it, wrote it, produced it, did her own backing vocals, played piano, then starred in and directed her own video. Plus, she's a trained dancer who does much of her own choreography.
beautiful song straight from the heart from a all time great female singer/dancer and song writer, ill never forget watching this on terry wogan show all them years ago. when i lived with my mom and dad ,when life was simpler back then only my self to think about and know its a uphill ride with out my mom by my side but my son Thomas keeps me a in line

This song has definitely stood the test of time. Hadn’t heard it before the movie “a man called Otto.” Sometimes when there’s a song so beautiful I check the X factor auditions to see if anyone can compare, no one did. What an absolutely fantastic song, fantastic artist. Thank you for sharing your beautiful voice with the world miss Kate Bush.

Ive seen alot of people trying to sing this song. I sit and listen to all of them but an original is and original. It was made for one person to sing and well Kate Bush nailed it beyond a song, Its folklore.
This original song is something else. I know lot of artists including Maxwell made something but they couldn't reach the emotional level this woman Kate Bush reached when doin this song 😢😢
what a beautiful song this has something from the man with the Child in his eyes. verry beautiful. art everything she did. now i have no idea. only that i know she is married with children. and because of stranger things running up that hill. people listen to her music again. i dont no if she likes the attention again but she will get money for it. i dont think she did everything for money. i hope not. i dont think so. she deserves credit for everything she does did. i wish her well.

Terry Wogan must have been great. Was he like Phil Donahue or something in England? Back then Wogan was a bit of a British institution on the BBC with Irish wit and charm. Chat shows, TV quiz shows and his irreverent take on the yearly Eurovision Song contest!
I notice the boots on the floor next to Kate. Are they hers, or is there some other meaning behind them? I believe Kate is very detailed in how she presents herself visually, and also in honouring her loved ones💕
@stanleyplank Must've been a requirement of the show's producer, because on other shows she's been live with a completely different arrangement, such as with "Breathing" for example.
