We caught up with Kate up Wakefield this month to shoot her song Concrete Cowboy in her house up in Wakefield. Kate's a woman of many talents: a carpenter, a banjo builder, a pearl inlayer (she made all those bolo ties at the start of the video), and not least of all an expert songwriter. Kate's the real deal when it comes to folk country, she's got an ear for the lonesome, and dives right into that old school country cool.
On Mondays you can find Kate at Redbird, where she helps run Bluegrass Mondays - a weekly event featuring bluegrass bands from the region. And on Tuesdays you can find her up in Wakefield at Cafe Hibou for the folk collusion, a show she puts on with bassist and multi-instrumentalist Rob Clarke - who's seen backing her up in this video.
