I love that Kate doesn’t need any contouring product, I don’t feel like sculpting my face like an Insta model everyday, a bit of blush and highlighter is good to go
Bronzer isn’t just used for sculpting it’s also used for bronzing. In fact, some people use bronzer instead of blush depending on their skin tone or desired look. Also, highlighter is a very insta model product lol I don’t even wear it everyday as I don’t feel the need to look like a disco ball when going for natural look
You should do Dakota Johnson makeup bag -- so naturally stunning so would love to know what she loves to wear regularly on red carpets, events and everyday. Her makeup artists are Kate Lee and Pati Dubroff if that helps
Knowing Kate loves UD Toasted too somehow makes me feel fancy. It's my all time favorite everyday shadow. It takes so little effort to make it look nice.
Thank you for your comments Ariella and Leslie! Yes I'm aware of this, I shoot with natural light which has been much too bright recently, sorry. Will try to fix it in future! Thanks for watching x
I've heard in a video that the women in the royal family are not allowed to wear bright make up and nails, soft colors and nudes only. Even something as classy as a red lip, or red/black/burgundy nails. That is really unfair. I get that they have to look put together and fresh 24/7 but a classic red lip/nail is not bad or frisky at all
It's true mainly because they want to maintain their so-called innocence and the clothing they wear is absolutely disgusting. It looks like a maternity dress and it doesn't flatter their figure but after all, they married a prince and that is a disadvantage of it not being able to express yourself freely. It's saddening. I would literally die if someone makes a decision for me as to what to wear or how to act. They don't have any autonomy. It's utterly absurd and disheartening.🥰
How timely that it was the Duchess' birthday this week :) Augh she is such a style icon... I loved this video! Now I promptly have to locate my old Naked palette! Her word is gold. Definitely using it this weekend for the first time in forever. More royal videos please xx
You read my mind Lisa, Miranda is coming up in the next celebrity makeup bag video or two! 😉 I do actually use blu tack but sometimes choose to let things roll around to make the video less static haha x
Matilda that’s a good point! Haha this is why you’re the content creator and I’m a viewer :) and looking forward to your Miranda video! She’s so bloody gorgeous!
I'd love to find out what the Queen uses! I tend not to do any historical figures because their products might not be around anymore and given I don't do a final look, a video full of dupes might not be that helpful. But I highly recommend the Princess Diana makeup tutorial by Mary Greenwell on Lisa Eldridge's channel! 👏 x
Yesss I loved this video! Maybe just a tiny suggestion is to also put example photos of her makeup to kind of "prove" that that indeed looks like what she uses :)
Thank you Jeanine! Yes that's a great suggestion, I was already planning to do that for a couple of other celebrity makeup bag videos coming up soon. Thank you! x
Watching this again! :) Love these videos. Pale Pink is a lot cooler than those blushes, and Kate has a cool skintone, but they are def shades I would try! I tried the Sandwash Pink lipstick shade she wore, and as a warm-neutral, it looked horrid on me. It looked so fab on her though :)
Remember these products are only speculation - unlike Meghan who was already famous and had her own blog so she specifically talked about the products she uses, Kate's is all just guessing in the source articles listed 🤷♀️ x
Thank you so much May! Love Victoria, she's already on my list! 👌🏼 In the meantime, I have a video on my channel on her collection with Estee Lauder which I suspect she uses a lot now haha x
Matilda, you MUST get your hands on a Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick! Bobbi’s is the OG highlighter. It’s really just a beautiful glow. If you love peachy tones, try my favorites, “Sunset”, “Nectar” or “Bronze” - they’re so versatile (I use the individual strips as eyeshadows) plus, they’ll last you FOREVER!
I know, those are iconic! Sadly I'm not a huge powder highlight fan because I find it less natural looking than cream on me, but I might try to track down a travel size next time I'm in a Sephora! x
I would love to see what she used too! Unfortunately I tend not to feature historical figures because their products are probably not made anymore. Also considering I don't film a tutorial of the look, I'm not sure how helpful a video full of dupes would be, sorry! x
Sorry Bridget, I've just moved overseas for the rest of the year away from my collection! It's also not a video I'm necessarily comfortable filming - I like to always be informative and helpful in my reviews, so would prefer not to be materialistic and just show what I own, you know? x
Love your accent!!! I’m usually terrified of hearing the Aussie accent since it’s so hard to understand for me 🤣 but your voice is so soothing but strong! Keep on making videos!!
Hello there 👋 thought I’d treat myself to another wander down memory lane in your back catalogue which I absolutely love... without any BS I laugh out loud sometimes to think about how much my makeup and skincare has changed over the last year since watching your channel Matilda.. I have almost completely changed my products from powder to creams and to brands and formulas I’d have never tried had I not seen you channel. When I rewatched this I was mentally ticking off the products I have now that I didn’t have then... Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown... they are all there! What an encyclopaedic knowledge you have ... and like a lot of your subscribers, I’m really happy you share your passion with us!! SYNT ❤️❤️❤️
Ohh thank you so much Stacey, so nice of you as always! Still can't wrap my head around it when viewers leave lovely comments like this saying that I've helped shape their makeup style in any way! 😱😊 So nice to hear x
Hi Matilda, I rarely ever leave comments on the videos I watch - though I enjoy reading them - but I just have to tell you how much I LOVE your channel, content, taste...It's such a pleasure and a source of inspiration ❤ Please, do keep it up ! xoxo
Great suggestion Eden, although I'm not sure how helpful these videos would be on historical figures given they're likely to all be product dupes and I'm not creating a look or tutorial. Sorry! There's an amazing video on Lisa Eldridge's channel though where Diana's makeup artist Mary Greenwell recreates one of her iconic looks x
Hello, I am a new subscriber and this is your first video I ever watch. I am in my new days of my 20's so I am still new in make up world. This video is so amazing and so inspiring, because I love how the duchess of cambridge's and duchess of sussex' make up look so natural. Now I can take some inspiration from this video to create my look, thank you so much.
I wish you could do an update about that or at least let us know about her makeup look at the Bond premiere "No time to die" that was regal and mesmerizing
Didn't she look stunning Alice! 🤩👏 Unfortunately the Duchess' makeup details are never revealed publicly so I'm not able to film an update or source any recent information from that event sadly x
I love the concept of your video !!! Yes we all want to see you but it’s true that you make the difference 😉 great voice, great review and great graphic design 👍🏻
Thank you for an insight into the royals makeup😀 I like to see more looks with a natural vs made up look. Seems like lots of makeup on You Tube is not for everyday wear, do you have any good drug store dupes for some of the items you share?
Thank you for watching Pamala! A video of my favourite drugstore makeup products is coming next week. You'll always find natural, everyday makeup tips on my channel ☺️ x
I loved this, even though I am British and can't stand the monarchy (even though I have nothing against them as individuals - it's just that the money could be much better spent on other things in my opinion). It's always interesting to see other people's makeup bags and I also loved your Meghan video. I am hopeful that her entry into the royal family will see an improvement in how the royals interact with the public. Your channel is a breath of fresh air- love it! xx
Thank you so much Kate! Really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and glad to hear you enjoyed both videos. I think the arrival of Meghan definitely marks a new era of engagement! x
Sorry Bella, I don't have much to update you on! The idea of this series is looking at what my celebrity makeup inspirations use and seeing which products we have in common, so I sadly don't have any new info for you! x
Love this video - and I am a huge Bobbi Brown fan, too (like the Dutchess). I do have most of those products that you mentioned. A self-proclaimed Anglophile (sp?), I love anything having to do with the British Royal Family. Thanks for the video. Look forward to more! XX from the USA!!
Oh great to hear! Both that you're a Bobbi Brown fan and an Anglophile, me too ☺️ I'm only half English but feel particularly patriotic when a royal wedding is coming up haha. Thank you again x
Thank you for watching Meli's! Unfortunately as you might be able to tell, the style of my channel doesn't feature me on camera - the focus is on the products so I won't be doing any tutorials, sorry x
I like makeup to apply makeup to your face and you get nice complement makes me feel.good i like this video of kate and i just saw meghan she is so delightful. In the car with the makeup artist she is so beautiful ❤
Always very honest about my love of luxury and indie brands, so unfortunately I don't use drugstore products very often. You'll find my edit in a Drugstore Favourites video on my channel 👍 x
I also use the Lancôme “Hypnose” mascara in this video, and it is one of the best I’ve purchased (for volume). I use Lancôme’s “Monsieur BIG”, too because it helps to separate and lengthen my naturally curly lashes. These are great mascaras to use to enhance your natural lashes because I really don’t like false lashes (they’re uncomfortable and are just too much of a hassle).
I hear Allana Davison rave about Monsieur Big all the time so I need to give it a go! Definitely with you there on false lashes, I much prefer a natural but defined look! Thank you for the suggestions Gabrielle x
Gabrielle Kelly. I've never tried falsies. My eyes probably wouldn't tolerate them even if I was ever capable of putting them on correctly. I haven't tried that particular mascara but my fav's for many years have always been Lancome. After reading your comment I really want to try this one now. Thanks for the heads up! 👌
Thank you so much! So nice of you ☺️ What a lovely part of the world! I really enjoyed my visits to Amsterdam and The Hague, hope to come back again soon! x
Hi, Matilda! I love the Royal fam.. I was wondering if you knew what Pipa Mathews, Lady Kitty Spencer (Princess Diana's niece) or other royals make up faves? Thank you!
We have very different makeup styles so I don't think we have any products in common unfortunately! And that's the premise of this series, I don't go out and shop for the videos. You'll definitely find lots of information online or on RU-vid about what they use 👍 x
Hi Julie, all source articles are always linked in the description box! There's obviously a degree of speculation around Kate's favourites, but with all other celebrities I feature the information comes directly from them through interviews x
Thank you Manal! All of the articles that discuss her beauty habits are linked in the description box. Obviously a degree of speculation involved, but the Bobbi Brown wedding makeup is completely accurate as it was provided by her makeup artist from the day! x
Sorry Coll, nothing to update! Kate's makeup details are never shared publicly so it's only ever speculation in articles, and I wouldn't have enough new material or products to film another version x
