This is one of those songs that really resonates whether you were the bully or the bullied.

I'm in highschool. There's a boy in my year level, who I don't have classes with. He doesn't have a lot of friends, he gets bullied a lot, and has a pretty rough life at home. I always say hi to him in the halls and talk to him when I see him, because I know what it's like to be hated by lots of people for no good reason. It's difficult to stand up to my friends when they call him creepy and weird behind his back, but I do try. This song is really inspiring for me

I swear Australian singers do not get enough international attention. Kate Miller-Heidke, Matt Corby and Lisa Mitchell should all be heaps famous by now!

When I was in primary school (I'm in high school now) our school showed us this song. At the time we nomen saying it sucked but I only recently realised we just didn't understand it because we were too immature. I'm in high school now and this song definitely affects how I look at the people who have few friends. 1 day I saw some kid getting pushed around by some known school bullies. I learn boxing, have been for 4 years, and I feel comfortable having a fight. I saw the kid was trying to stand up for himself but coudnt so I helped out. I walked up said leave him alone, they started a fight, but it was quickly over after I badly hurt 1 of them. I'm not friends with the kid I stood up for, but he, and pretty much everyone else looks at me differently now, and no one picks on that kid anymore. The morale of the story is stand up for the little guy. People will realise your a good guy, or girl, for doing so.

I often cry whilst listening to this song. Because when I started high school I was caught in the crowd. I wanted to be cool. I was mean to people. I regret it so much. When I realized who I was becoming I stopped hanging out with that crowd. I started to be bullied by them. I spent my year being called fat, ugly, fish lips, an array of nasty names and being hit, pushed around, having things thrown at me, and hating myself. It’s led on to some horrible problems a few years later even after moving schools the words are always in my mind.

I first heard this 15 years ago and never knew what it was really about, I was just vibing to it. Now I have finally found this song, after having it in the back of my head for so long and it's still just as beautiful as it was. Deeper even, now that I know the meaning.

This song reminds me of my high school days. If I could rewind back time, I would have done more to stand up for those who could not stand up for themselves.

I only heard this 2 days ago for the first time. it made me cry .. I hated being bullied. it affected me for a VERY long time. my best friend became my best friend cause she beat me up and I was still nice to her. she stuck up for me after that even though she was in the very popular crowd and I was the one that would sit with long hair around me like a 'shield' as I slumped in my chair trying not to be noticed. when I was 12 or 13 I started to 'come out of my shell' when we moved to the country

Yes, I was one of the people who was shown this in school. Kate was on the masked singer recently just before I found this song again and she seems so young here, but then 11 years later, she anonymously sang as the queen. She's come really far; I'm proud of her :)

A reminder to all you people out there that have been or are being bullied. Stand Up For Yourself. I know it may be easier said than done, but it really is true that people on pick those who they view as weak. Stand up for yourself, and they will forget about you. I wasn't a pretty girl, I didn't know my father at the time, my mother did not care for me, I always had headlice, had a bowl cut, wore shoes with holes in them, stained shirts and much more. I was like the Kenny (Southpark) of my friends. So I know if it weren't for the fact that I had a tribe of brothers, 9 to be exact, I too would have been bullied. But this just goes to show that bullies are not tough at all.

It seemed like she loved him.... thats what it seems like to me i know that she probably didnt, but the way she smiles, is the way girls smile at their crush.... This song brings me to tears sometimes. I was bullied in primary school and high school, i am now in UNI and i have never felt happier. I stood up for myself because no one else did. Now i have friends who stand up for me behind my back and in front of me. I'm on a bit of a Kate Miller-Heidke binge at the moment and I remember first hearing this song in 2008. I'm blown away that it's been used in schools for anti-bullying education, what a legacy to have left with just one song! All of Kate's songs are so damn good!

For those of us who have always been very disappointed that KATE BUSH only ever had that one TRULY GREAT song, be disappointed no more!!! ... Queenslander "KATE MILLER Kate Bush HEIDKE" has one WUTHERING HEIGHTS song after another!!! ... A concert full of similarly mesmerizing songs in her songwriting treasure chest! ... She warbles, she gargles, and at times she sounded like there may well be a dentist chair on stage at her Cairns Esplanade Commonwealth Games Concert! ... Nevertheless, all combining to be one of the most unique female singer songwriters on Earth. Not to mention having written one of the best "school bullying" songs ever written. I had been aware of Kates existence ever since she first emerged as a newly discovered seedling. But now I'm an avid fan. Well done Kate and crew. And well done all of Cairns for this amazing Commonwealth Games Music Festival. No wonder there are a few billionaires moored in town at the moment. The word has obviously spread of Cairns quintessential uniqueness! ... Keep up the good work!

I was a bit of a bully at school until I realised the kids I was bullying were just like me so I stuck up for them. This song brings a tear to the eye because it reminds me of them.

I remember 11 years ago I was shown this in High School and I came back to this recently.

At school my friends are considered “one of the popular groups" and we let two boys who were being and had no friends sit with us and people stopped bullying them because every time someone would come over and bully them i would stand up for them
