She had a pretty significant injury so I don't know if she's 100% right now but I'm going to be rooting for her to make it; she will be a great representative at the Olympics if she does. If her and Valby make it, it would be awesome to see them run together as team mates!

Boy is it great to see Katelyn back! I didn't see the race because Peacock dropped the feed at 9PM (and then they whine that nobody watches T&F) and when I saw the time I was disheartened. But hearing KT's optimistic take on it is refreshing. Good luck Katelyn!

Katelyn Tuohy Hear This: THE OLYMPIC SPIRIT STARTS HERE 0o0o0! You have it in you to be an Olympic Champion! You figured out how to run at the college level in HS, the Pro level in the NCAA’s and now who is better suited to work out Olympic Gold as a Pro! Cheering you on. Run your pace for 4th and surge to knock out 3rd! If it’s PV, so be it!!!

KT is one of 3 excellent runners at different distances that were injured and all 3 have made a come back and are moving to the next level which is the semis. Athing Mu qualified for the semifinal in the 800 m running what like an easy run for her finishing 2nd in 2:01. And Abby Steiner finished 5th in her 100 m heat and qualified for the semifinal. And why is Abby bothering with running the 100 as that is not her strength?? I'm betting she will run something else like the 200 or 400 and she is only running the 100 to work on her speed and her starts.

@nathanenns not at my school. I was on the same team as the Centrowitz siblings and our distance runners were doing 50mile weeks most of the year. And you can overdo it doing 30mile weeks anyway if you're going too deep on your intervals too often. *That's just what the team did together. Some of our better runners did very easy 6-8+ milers very early in the morning a few days a week.

@Bdx357 Месяц назад
@@synchronium24 the hamstrings. When hamstrings are too weak compared to the quads.. they get strained. It has secondary impacts on the lower back, knee and IT band. Quads often grow stronger from hill running, squats, bike riding, etc I made this same mistake as a young runner

This was a great interview with KT and gives great insight into her commitment and seriousness. I'm not a Parker fan, because I find her off-putting and shallow, although the greatest, right now, of her micro-generation, with a lot of potential. If she can finish in the top ten at the Os I will be very happy for her, and the US. Good luck, PV! But Katelyn is on another level entirely, which is why she has retained her +110k Instagram following during her absence and also induced me to buy a few bags of her granola, which is GREAT! It's different. It's like Olipop. Katelyn has so much experience at the age of 22 dealing with the press in a somewhat cosseted and helping cross and track media learning environment that, on camera, she opens up as a real person, a person any of us who has strived for some personal fulfillment can identify with. She is both the champion we have followed for years, but also a frail and vulnerable athlete, who lives and trains on a knife edge. Great interview. Why not schedule one a month with KT? Maybe Adidas would give you some bennies. By the way, I started following Ollie Ostrander on Instagram six months ago. She has an honest appeal, from a level-- just missing the Olympic Team by a few places even though achieving the Olympic standard-- that is similar to Katelyn. I keep imagining the Katelyn-Ollie show on RU-vid.
