Me too man, me too. I've never seen a creator/director/writer have as much insight or sincerity when talking about their creation as Lucas did with Star Wars. He's something very, very special.
@@Obi-Wan_Kenobi Glad i'm not alone. I became an author and content creator because of George and watching all of the interviews and behind the scenes docs from back in the days. This all just feels so lack luster and like the magic is all gone. It almost makes ya feel sad in a way. How far the mighty have really fallen. I remember being at celebration 2017 and people were still excited and screaming everywhere, 2023 only a 1/4 of that room cheered
There's nothing stopping you from watching that. He's gone over it pretty thoroughly in the past. Not sure what new information he has left to release.
@@soondslash I was there mate it's just people where so happy to be here you know but yeah compared to every guest she has a poor welcome and reaction for her words for sure 😅
Some times I mess up at my job, but then I realize at least I'm not the one responsible for turning a cultural corner stone with a massive and incredibly loyal fan base into the equivalent of a new CW show lol.
@@CHAD_REX_ They have good writers at CW, just not enough of them. Over the years it was always one show that was good while others were flanking and then they would move writers over. Right now the good ones seem to be at Superman and Lois. I really enjoyed that over the last two seasons. In the past they moved between Arrow and Flash both of whom got great periods and bad ones (terrible ones in the case of the Flash). And I really liked the risks they took with Legends of Tomorrow.
At first I thought you meant cw as clone wars (I'm currently in a star wars mindset) then I realized you meant the network and I breathed a sigh of relief.
This is hilarious, even the carefully curated crowds are straight faced and they are so obviously playing a cheer and clap tracks whenever something is supposed to be appreciated 😂how is she not gone yet is beyond me
@@gladiatorscoops4907 They clapped pretty hard when Daisy came out on stage, so...yeah. But I already see where this convo is headed, and I'm not trying to be something that supports your echo chamber. So have a day. 🤎
@@DoubleRDubGaming I mean they probably like the actress and are clapping for her not really the story she in. Just based on seeing reaction here and in a general movie subreddit, it seems a ton of people hate the idea of another new set of movies with Rey.
I am genuinely surprised that Disney hasn’t disabled the comments yet, normally they are very quick at clamping down on “toxic negativity” (aka fans saying what they really think).
George Lucas got that ball rolling. First he sold out to the “Mouse”. That was his first mistake. Then he insisted as part of the sale, Kennedy heads up Lucasfilm. That was his second mistake. But then again, if you count the prequel films as well, then he’s been nothing but a major screw up since the 90’s.
He can't do anything. To save the franchise, a major company with billions of dollars will have to buy the IP away from them and that will likely cost far more than what George got paid by Disney in 2012. That means that either you find that company willing to invest that kind of money, or the franchise will have to lose its value entirely for Disney to sell it back to George for a smaller price. Either way, it's an unlikely scenario.
@@rpgadventurer32 I agree with you, but giving up is not the way of a Jedi, we have a big fandom , together we can do anything , as long as we continue to fight , there will be hope as long as George is alive and as long as there are fans who respect his legacy and his vision
Im impressed the SFX guys managed to so seamlessly add in fake applause sound effects and CGI hand clapping to the crowd. That's where the Marvel Studios SFX budget has gone!
I love the part where the producers pushed the "fake audience cheering button" in the control room as Kathleen Kennedy entered the stage. You can clearly see how overwhelmed in awe the audience were right there ---> 0:36, 04:30 So stunning, so brave done by the control room team! it brought me to tears... of laughter. Ill be just as equally brave and push the right-hand voting button for this which as of now is at 5.1K down.
I was there today, and the biggest mess of SWC is the fact that this stage, whilst awesome and has seen some huge names across it over the weekend is not good for those who are there . There was no sound or speakers for anyone more than about 10 rows back. There are two fairly big screens and both of which could easily have had some accessible screen/voice captures whilst the interviees speak!!
"What makes a great Star Wars Stor-" "-Huh?" "I said: What makes a good Stars Wars story?" "Oh ummm...good question. I'll circle back when I know more."
What's this woman talking about? All the success she has now is due to Jon Fraveau and Dave Filoni who saved the franchise, she should be thanks to them instead of taking all the credit. She speaks wisely of the criteria for choosing directors, which was the criteria to let Rian Johnson modify everything at will without respecting the legacy that was before? I wonder if she really listens to the fans or if she lives in a bubble. If she has any self respect she should remake the Sequels with Jon and Dave.
@@orbaitv5991 She gave the green light not made. Without Fraveau and Filoni making excellent SW series she would accomplish NOTHING and would of been fired along time ago.
You'd think Kathleen is totally out of touch with her audience, but it's far worse than that. She knows exactly what the Star Wars fans want but she doesn't care. She only cares about her agenda and using the Lucasfilm platform to push it as hard as possible, while she can. That agenda happens to synergise well with Disney so unfortunately Star Wars fans are stuck with her.
I was there on Saturday during filming. They told us haydren christensen was coming out first. Instead we got Kathleen (it was on the set schedule) the atmosphere changed I can tell you that 😂😂
I remember when she and JJ lied saying they didn't have any source material when they were making the sequel trilogy. They had George's first drafts for a ST, also they have Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy. But they did not use any of them. They chose to lie and play the victim saying "fans are toxic". 🤦
Forget source material; she had NO PLANS what the overarching narrative was going to be for the sequel trilogy, no ideas on the connective tissue flowing from one film to the next.
@@7hew0lv3r1ne that’s not true. She had plans. Remake the OT but make Luke a girl. Except this Luke didn’t need training or character development because of her YASSSS Queen Bs
The saga of the secretary who didn't know how to take notes, then rose to become the Sith lord who destroyed the whole sequel franchise and now she's done it to Indy. Most impressive. She really let the hate flow through her. Fade out.
She really said Dave didn’t know anything about tv series when he did Clone Wars and Rebels I’d understand if she said live action tv series but she didn’t
im sorry, its staggering to me that all stories that she had less creative power were ones that had some success, ans she still keeps being the president. Being a president i would say that you are responsible for the product you output, and if is has something bad, you are accontable for your decision making. is there really not anything else that she can do in DIsney, put her in charge of marvel that is basically a kids show already. Give this franchise to hbo or someone that has free creative power and can make heads being choped of if the story requires it. Look at the intensisity of swtor cinematics and how they were so well embraced.
I think she might be the most hated person alive. I mean, Putin, Trump, there are two political sides disagreeing on these dudes. But KK, almost everyone including the media is now in agreement. She is what tolkien said... “Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made”
