@@MCKLINE74 I met Alice in person at Goofy's Kitchen in Disneyland when I was little. She was Calm and pretty and she didn't scare me and she made me feel comfortable. ❤️
I’m so glad Kathryn is still alive and well today, many child actors of that time ended up getting involved in alcohol and drugs and dying because of it, she’s 82 as of Feb 2021 and still alive and well :)
@Dan Cue Maia Mitchell is the only one out of those two who voiced Wendy in Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Also Kathyrn Beaumont is obviously not going to play Alice and the narrator in Peter Pan and Wendy, You Stupid and Annoying Asshole!!!!
Funny she says that Jabberwocky and Algebra must have been invented by the same person, and Lewis Carroll was actually a logician and used a lot of algebraic/logical concepts in his writing.
I'll admit, Kathryn looked so cute and beautiful when on set in her Alice costume for the animators to get inspiration from, and still wearing it for other events like being a hostess with Walt Disney himself or when doing her schoolwork on set between rehearsals and takes. She was perfect for the role and as Wendy Darling too. Starfire's V.A. has some big shoes to fill taking over for Kathryn.
@@ErikButterworth And I would also very much like to add is the fact that I really love Kathryn Beaumont’s blue dress. It is so pretty and beautiful. I like the white pinafore apron too, not forgetting to mention. I also loved the idea of Kathryn wearing it during her schoolwork, events and being Walt Disney’s hostess. Alice was also my first childhood crush. And one more thing, am I the only one who thinks that Kathryn Beaumont’s voice sounds so soothing and satisfying?
Well, it is Hollywood, those guys always had a thing for young actors and actresses. I love animation and Disney work too, but too bad he was part of an industry that pretty much ruins everyone under 18.
2:39 Kinda sad considering he died but overdosing on drugs in the 60s, because his career pretty much dissapeared in the 50s... This "movie" is from 1950...
So this is what it's like in 1930s. I'm surprised how young she was to voice Alice from Alice in Wonderland and Wendy from Peter Pan. And now she's 81 years old in this year, older than my grandparents (both of them are 71 maybe). I really like learning what it's like in the past. My dad was born in 1964 and he told me about how he been through a lot of things
She was absolutely perfect for that character. Personally I think Walt Disney should have done a live action version of the story. It would show how insanely talented and perfect Kathryn Beaumont was. Now I can see them making an animated version if the voice actors didn't look the part, and only sounded the part. If you look at the film they made of the voice actors acting the scenes out in costume, you already see all the parts were already perfectly cast. Especially in Kathryn's case. The characters the artists came up with could've been used as reference to fine tune the costumes for the designers. I mean at the time Walt Disney Studios was the top when it came to special effects for fantasy films. Good example: look at what they did with Darby O'Gill and the little people. I think they could've done it and very well too, if it had been live action. Walt already had the perfect Alice, like she stepped right out of the book. They animated movie was and is a classic, but I think a live action version with her as Alice was a no brainier. It could've quite possibly ended up becoming the definitive version of the Alice story. Even could have won Disney who knows how many Oscars. I hate they overlooked the idea. Kathryn you were and always will be the definitive Alice.
What a fantastic actress, when you compare the film to the animation it's such a shame they didn't capture her expressions and movements. They were a level far above the animation which looked stilted in comparison. I would have loved it if they did it live action instead.
Hard to believe she still alive, she’s even four years younger than my dad. I feel like she’s the last of these classical actresses alive unless you can prove me wrong.
Ms Kathryn Beaumont, one of Disney’s first child actors. Whereas the likes of Bobby Driscoll and Luanne Patton mainly did live action work, Kathryn did voice acting for both her works, starting with Alice in Wonderland. Bobby however did voicing with the other role Kathryn starred in. All 3 had their great roles with Disney, but after the mid 50’s they worked with other studios, or did other stuff in their lives. Bobby faced tragedy by losing more opportunities, and therefore fell into financial troubles before passing away in 1968. Luanne lived for another good several decades before passing in 1996, the year I was born. Kathryn is still alive today, and while she was still the voice of her characters until 2005, it was mainly Alice who made the sporadic appearances since Wendy didn’t appear as much as Peter Pan; Kathryn is also an inspiring school teacher.
I just know that the real actor (almost) were looks like the characters.. *beside Alice, just like the Mad Hatter (0:40). I love to saw this movie. Reminding me of my childhood, that I used to love her (Alice), hahaha... even in a cartoon version. I ever thought that, if she was real.. maybe she will looks beautiful too. When nowadays, I saw this clip... makes me glad that my thoughts was real. Kathryn Beaumont as Alice was look beautiful.
I wish I could see how they work on Disney Movies that was in 1900s but I don't think I can't since they are some of the voice actors who voiced the Disney characters, artists and others who passed away a long time ago. I want to meet Walt Disney as well. I guess I will remember the voice actors who bring memories of Disney stories. Thank you for creating Disney
She literally made my childhood like this was my first ever Disney movie I’ve ever watched and I watched it a lot as a kid even tho it came out 49 years ago since I was born in 2000 but I watched it around when I was 1 or 2 yrs old
I so wish they could be Disney movies like this 💖. If they still did. I would act for Disney for years. Just to have fun and make lots of friends on set❤️😁
Sterling Holloway is just an absolute delight, and doll here. Always thought his was adorable, this only furthers my point. Rest in piece Mr.Cheshire Cat❤
I actually got the idea to upload this while watching a Thanksgiving parade, and thought it would be great for the Christmas season. Kathryn’s videos give off that same sweet Christmassy vibe that I often get around the season, as well as from Disney as a whole.
Kathryn Beaumont was my most number 1 favorite and famous star actor in Disney Classic Flim Alice in Wonderland voice play of Alice and Peter Pan voice play of Wendy
Cheshire Cat: Why, if I were you I would not talk so much. Alice: Why? C: Because I heard the queen say just yesterday that you ought to be beheaded. A: What for!? C: Oh I don't know what for, she didn't say. Mind your own business, read your book.
Alice is the best character in Alice in Wonderland, not the Wonderland characters, mainly because she is normal and the Wonderland characters are mad. And “Very Good Advice” should be the number one best song in the film. It gives Alice character development and for every laugh, there should be a tear.
At first, I really didn’t understand why those who developed Fallout franchise love the 1950’s style that much. After watching this video, I think I can understand them now. Every age has its own beautiful part.
Well that was society back then, she learned all of those from being educated and told about how a prim and proper woman should know her place in society.
Do y’all know how lucky she was? She put her hands in the HANDS OF WALT DISNEY. If I could voice a Disney character that would be a dream come true! I’ve always wanted to since I was a little girl, well I guess that’ll never happen…
That’s because the actor and child actor were close friends on set. In fact I watched one of Holloway’s documents, and there was a picture of them pointing at Kathryn’s character. It’s on chapter 4. It’s really quite adorable! 🤗
@Dan Cue Why can't you understand that David Lowery is directing the movie, not Kathyrn Beaumont, Rowan Atkinson, and Stephen Merchant. Also Alice is a fictional character only from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Caroll. And she won't be the narrator in the movie as well.
If she was born in my time! Only if. I am a 19, in love with a 80 year old.. what has life come to.. I can only imagine what’s going to happen 100 years down road.. where the people can find endless details and content of people long gone..
"Delicious, WHOLESOME, goodness"......🤣😂 You'd think that it was a health drink the way they promote it. Just cracks me up 😁. Gotta love those old commercials / ads 😏
That's very cool, how they actually did make Alice in Wonderland❤️. My favorite character is Alice😁💓. This film makes me learn how Mr Disney made this movie 😁💓❤️💖. And I love this movie so much ❤️❤️
I wonder what would happen if the pool of tears was made with live action Kathryn(With Alice's clothes) that would be pretty hard to be made but it would be interesting if it was done right
she also plays a character in in the readers digest tv series 1955 "The Voyage of Captain Tom Jones, Pirate" at the age of 16-17 years her last tv appearance it would be great if some one manages to upload that episode in you tube she's very beautifull and at her prime at that show before she retired from Hollywood to focus on her teaching career.
I love this. It’s wonderful and beautiful. The optimism of these people, the hope and innocence of it all, the pure ambition of spreading joy and thrills to everyone.
