Well I can't say it's before my time ( as long as it's not too long back-60's I think?) but there's always a first time for Kathy Linden! And I was here as u put this up with my cat friends! Happy night my music and film friend!
@For The Love Of Animals . Well , 1960 was the first year of the sixties as we probably all know , and thats when the song was born. I've overdone myself a bit with the former video , so , sorry for the lack of film here . Haven't seen any catfriends , until you came over , haha...Ha det Suzi .xo
***** I love a real comment and reply thread!! Wow G+ gave u a gift this time. Well if ya need a cat fix,I am it!!! La Strada was amazing the way you worked it.(What a tragic figure Gelsamina was) Kathy Linden will suffice after that so why wear yourself out? And anyway she's interesting for the time period. You really do know music! HAve an amazing night till next time!!!
***** I alway's have a reply button , but you don't , as you know ( except on replies , not on the main comment ) .My catfix was to send it PM , meeow .... It's a terrible story , because yesterday i was talking someone with the same issue ( no reply button ) . So that would be G minus . Gelsamina was tragic , but so was Zampano also . I love to mix up the pictures and film to my own ideas , it's exhausting , but feel proud of it . Kathy is a "snack " for in between . Try her , she was wonderfull back in time :Kathy Linden - Just A Sandy Haired Boy Called Sandy . but not very wellknown , and sometimes hard to find after all those years . Someone else was searching for a particular song of her . Finally after ONE year he was able to upload the song . That song is called : " Kissin' Conversations " . Very interesting to hear how she handled the lyrics . xoxo
Actually, this song was written in '49. I recall Jo Stafford putting it out in '51. It was my favourite song on the Hit Parade that year. I best prefer The Seekers' version as there are four of them. Four are better than one on the harmonies. By the way, I was in and around Allentown for almost a solid week during Easter time of '56. Mostly I was in Emmaus, but got into Allentown proper too. Throughout that entire week, I was never once caught doing anything, and I never saw the Allentown Jail. I have since learned that it ran continuously from 1867 until 1991 when it had to be replaced with a state of the art detention facility for Allentown and Lehigh County. The old clink had become untenable with rats and flees and was overcrowded. Then came lawsuits and a big ugly riot.
