Katica Illényi, violin Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 Composer: Franz Liszt Győr Philharmonic Orchestra Conductor: István Silló Arrangement: Péter Pejtsik Recorded at Palace of Arts, 2011. / katicaillenyiofficial www.katicaillenyi.com
I have loved this composition of Franz Liszt since my childhood. It was mostly performed on the pianoforte. Hearing it performed on a violin and especially performed by such an accomplished violinist like Katica, is a magnificent achievement The accompaning orchestra is absolutely fantastic too. Pride of Hungary.
Franz would have loved this !!!! This woman has TALENT in the 3rd degree, she BURNS, she's on FIRE. Yes, FRANZ would be honored to have a woman of this calibre plays HIS compositions.🌷🌷🌷🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Katica is surely the best musician in a world of performance giants, for she sings, plays, creates, at the highest levels in so many fields where nobody else can manage high levels, and, she does this with skill, control, ease, versatility, comfort, real quality. So, BRAVO.
Natura rocks. Never have I heard Hungarian Shape off played on a violin, it sounds GREAT.!!!!!! Franzie would be honored w/ her outstanding performance !🌹🌹🌹🌹🌴
She made a violin sound like a fiddle and a fiddle sound like a violin. This beautiful woman is one of the best violinist in the world. Excellent performance from her and the entire orchestra. Most enjoyable and beautiful.
from Internationally recognised American Violinist, Elisabeth Matesky Dear Katica ~ Violinist Magnifique & Friend/Colleague ~ Helena Bartoldi sent this to me with your 'Evaristo Carriego', and after watching/listening twice, I am once again very struck by your classical 'Gypsy' approach to grand concert pieces for the violin and orchestra!!! Many soloists play - yet as if in an isolated practise room for a non existent audience ~ Since first seeing & hearing your jet propelled 'launch' of Astor Piazzolla's 'Libertango' in Budapest, with the Dohnanyi Orchestra & the superb Illenyi's, there is a definitive 'star quality' to every piece of violin concert repertoire you present with classic dignity and Bravura yet (for a better lack of words) 'Royal Musical Demeanor' with what I'll term, "the Katica Illenyi Twinkle"!!!!! The awareness and embrace of your audiences is now a Katica Illenyi Violinist Trademark of Style & Grace ~ Bravissimo to the most uniquely herself Hungarian Violinist with international Dazzle!!!! Elisabeth Matesky ~ Protege of Twentieth Century Greatest Violinists, Jascha Heifetz & Nathan Milstein ~
This piece, although originally intended for a solo piano performance, is as beautifully and skillfully played by a violinist just as magnificent to hear. The background orchestra give it that absoluut vibrance Franz Liszt surely intended. A violinist in the class of Katica Illenyi could not perform it more elligently
Wow! All I can say is Wow! Katie is amazing. I am forwarding this to my son Paul Wehle and his lovely Japanese wife Sachiyo in Japan. Paul plays the classic Bass and his wife Sachiyo plays the violin in an international orchestra in Osaka, Japan. I am sure they will love it! Love and Compassion and Gratitude, Pete Wehle
Temperament, precision, feeling ... everything is there! So rare to have it all at once :-) Perfection, no-zealous- real treat for all, thank you and hats off!
i agree with you sir, she is the best there is right now out there, and if you could see her play the violin so much more the better, she has a new concert, at the Palace of the Arts, in Budapest, Hungary on January 4, 2014

FANTASZTIKUS!!! Nagyon köszönöm!

Yes I'm back again to lister to this marvelous rendition of Franz Liszt's magnificent composition. His Rapsodies are magic. Katica's interpretation and performance is exquisit. Such a wonderful performance with her backup orchestra really out performing themselves.
Gracias
Katika, I love Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 ,I had listen a lot of musicians performing this them in different instruments, and today you delighted me with your performance on your violin. You are an amazing violinist. Thank you.
Just beautiful! I love this musical piece more in Violin than in Piano. I just love Violin very much, more for certain classic musical pieces. You are a great Violinist!
I have only just seen her on You Tube and I agree!!! She's immediately up there with my favourites Hilary Hahn and Francesca Temporin - and that violin is superb.
My being born without culture means I can appreciate whatever I please and this young lady is amazing! The feeling put into this piece is extraordinary!
Lili
