@@1bwash It was the following season when they admitted they were over 50% white. They didn't want to admit that because of how racist they were towards Katie the previous season. It was the solidification of it all.
Katie’s mother is a black women so those girls could never come for her blackness and she does stand on it proudly .. idk what Giselle and Robyn were seeing ..
The interesting thing is Katie mother is an actual black woman. Neither Giselle nor robins parents are black like that. Both of them have mixed parents and they are mixed themselves.

Clearly, both of their dads, who appear to be Black men, carried a significant amount of European DNA, despite their appearances.
They were just bullies and I feel they used it because it was right there. She had a white boyfriend then fiancé in a black neighborhood. If it was not that they would have found something else to find wrong with her. She tried it with Ashley too, being married to a white man but there was not any traction so they focused on the age gap.

Gizelle's family is from Louisiana and she knows all about colorism, the brown paper bag and blue vein club. Her dad (rip) once called a political opponent Aunt Jemima and was referred to in an article as The Agitator. Seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
But her dad was also heavily involved in the civil rights movement and evidently cared about black people. When he called someone an Aunt Jemima did he mean it in the same way we say 'Uncle Tom'? Context definitely matters here.

After watching season 8 of this show and seeing how people out here who have not watched the show since season 1 would say that they are just now being known as colourist people just now are talking about it. As a day 1 watcher of this show people have been saying Gizelle and Robyn are colourists since season 1 and have been talking about this since the very start of this show. This was what 2016 so 8 years ago its 2024 and nothings changed.
I think Robin and gizelle liked the fact that people ooo and awe that they're a 100% black. But light skin women. It's like it gives them more of an exotic feel. Robin looks crazy as hell
This is the same argument Wendy had in season 8 when she said the cast lacked the range to have the conversation. Absolutely no growth from the right side of the sofa AND Katie was correct! She held them to the standard they tried to hold everyone else to and they couldn’t handle it. Katie gave a classy read every single time.
