thanks for this Matt!!! i hope you can check out one of Katrina's older performances that remains to be one of my most favorite to this day because it's a RAW cover of DON'T YOU WORRY 'BOUT A THING from the movie Sing (originally sung by Stevie Wonder but was sung by Tori Kelly for the movie). it's one take, no edits, no special effects...just her pure amazing and powerful vocals.

Hi Matt, there's another song by her from the same Wish Bus session (August 2020). Katrina Velarde performs "Tala" (Sarah Geronimo) LIVE on Wish 107.5 Bus ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XWNqOe0P8II.html She completely rearranged this Sarah Geronimo song and made it her own. I love to watch how confident she is - she nailed it and she knows it! As to your point about spicy chords I totally agree with you! I always adored musicians like i.e. Stevie Wonder who wrote songs which, for the ordinary listeners, sounded like a easy sing-along piece but had some jazzy chords in it. There was a trend of reharmonizing Pop songs starting about 10 Years ago. The first group I heard doing this was the Swedish Trio Dirty Loops.
