Today we put Kavalan's malt itself up for review in this masterful "cask strength" edition of Kavalan ex-Bourbon. For those outside of the states or just not aware the Solist line is Kavalan's first fill, CS, single barrel program that has yielded some of the best whiskies in the world. In the US however the term Solist is trade marked and the distillery cannot use that term. As a result Solist bottles in the states are called Cask Strength, but make no mistake they're the same extremely high quality offerings!
