I have had a few of the 54% version. As you said, I guess it’s a blend of barrel ends when they’re down to less than a bottle’s worth of liquid. The first one I had was extremely young but the most recent was nicely matured. Good work Robbie. 🥃🥃🥃🥃
Great review Rob as this is one I kept back for some time before getting into both Oak versions also with the rating. Also all Kavalan's are a minimum of 4 Years old as I found out when I was at the distillery. Slainte buddy!
That equates to around $156 Australian, dunno if I would fork out that too often for what amounts to 3 year old whisky, faster maturation or not. I can buy a Springbank 12 CS or 15yo for that kind of money.
I just recently tried some Kavalan Concert Master for the first time and liked it! Kavalan has two strikes against it locally despite the great flavors: It's expensive and hard to find... Other than that it is the nectar of the Gods.
W6, the Kavalan products seem pricey to me, especially the Solist bottles. I do have the Kavalan Sherry Oak and that is very good if you like sherry. I would rather spend the money on other bottles with age that I know would deliver better results. Good review.
