nice, sounds pretty dead-on. Close enough to trigger my nostalgia circuits. At the same time, it *proves* how two musicians playing the same song, on the same instrument, STILL will sound very different (because of weight distribution on chords, subtle rhythmic differences, etc). thanks for the video, and nice instrument - I'm very jealous!
I believe that sound that you were able to achieve was initiated during the second album “Rush of Blood to The Head”. Most piano from the first album “Parachutes” was recorded from a live piano in which the producer of the album called a “demo room” with all the instruments on one big setting. You can hear prominent piano sounds, (wires being struck, room tone) on such songs as ‘For You’ ‘Trouble’ ‘We Never Change’ and ‘Everything’s not Lost’. You can already hear that brighter keyboard accompanied by the rack setup in “A Rush of Blood to The Head” tracks like ‘Politik’, ‘Clocks’ and ‘Amsterdam’. Chris hasn’t looked back since it’s a great marrying of practical and technical and a beautiful piano sound!
Hi Gabrielle! Your sound is that sound! That's really amazing! My question is: what do you think about sampling this piano and making it available for Kontakt sample player? If you have a good enough audio interface, and Midi in and out on it (or as separate interface, doesn't matter), I could guide you to automaticly sample this piano, in all 88 keys, and many velocity layers, and make it as Kontakt patch. If you are interested, write me here. All the best, and thank you again for clarifying!
Ciao Gabriele, ho seguito tutti i tuoi video e tutorial sui Coldplay e volevo ringraziarti!
Hello. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful information. Now I know the real deal behind Chris Martins beautiful piano tech. I LOVE this keyboard system. Wish I can own one myself, one day. ~~May I ask you of a favor? Are you good at playing the old classic piano tunes? I would LOVE to hear Beethoven Moonlight Sonata on that beautiful keyboard system if you can that would be awesome. thank you. 😁
Thanks for the great video. I bought a used Kawai MP 9000 and I just don't get your sound realized. Can you please tell us the exact settings in the effect and EQ area? Thank you in advance
hi, sadly enough this piano isn't for sale anymore, and i neither can find second hand versions of it :( . instead i'm considering buying a Yamaha CP-300, do you think i can get simular sounds out of it? greetz, great playing.
Question for you - how did you save your presets? Just picked up an MP9000 and for some reason the presets are not saving when I turn off the piano and turn back on again. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or if it's something with the piano
Hello, how do you connect this keyboard to an audio interface? I would like to be able to record a song with this piano in my daw, but having trouble setting it up.
Ciao Gabriele potresti fare il tutorial della versione live di Paradise, come sai in giro non esiste ed essendo anch'io un fan sfegatato dei Coldplay vorrei riuscirla a fare come Chris sul mio piano. Grazie a presto 😊
michele albano Ciao Michele, sono molto impegnato in questo periodo dunque non so quando riuscirò a farlo, non credo a breve, ma lo farò sicuramente anche se devo ancora impararne alcune parti
if I can't get a mp9000 do you know which piano of kuwai could be close enough I saw the mp9500 but don't know if there is much difference what would you suggest me, also I don't know if there are librarys with these piano sounds
no piano samples at all, the only "similar" one would be EX pro samples by Kawai, but you need to tweak them, and they sound a little different. I don't know, sorry, to be sure 100% if I were you I would buy only a 9000 since they are not cheap and it is a huge risk!
I have been trying to find one in sites like reverb and ebay, do you know other sites where can I find one I'm really interested in getting one, by the way thank you so much for your video, I research that this was the piano where he pulled the sound and he just played the yamaha gt 20 but it didn't exist a proper video of showing the sound of the mp9000 and even more difficult showing one playing coldplay songs, it is awesome how you play the songs is the closest way to the true way that Chris plays them, congratulations!
Gabriele Passarelli Thank you so much man, actually I'm good in finding things, I spent like 2 years searching for a guitar that I wanted but I can't believe that old instruments are much better than new instruments and there sound are so unique but hard to find, I'll do as you told me by the way is there anyway I can contact you more directly if I get an mp9000 I see that it has like an equalizer I have my doubts if you also do some changes there to get the sound of chris or if is only the sound of the piano 2 button.
It is only piano n2, it will sound like this out of the box! Then use the eq to adjust the sound according to your tastes by ear, music is beautiful because it is a personal thing, and my eq settings aren't of course the one that Chris uses, nobody knows them, plus they use tons of other racks to process this sound, not the piano eq of course! so have fun and good luck :)
