I had one of these bikes Back in 1970 for high school riding back and forth to school and I still love that bike I've had many many motorcycles in my lifetime since then but that is my overall favorite and when you ride it it is pure adrenaline when you crack that throttle wide open very few bikes you will have are more exciting than these thanks for the video well done

You don’t often see a 500 with twin discs. Very lovely machine.

Amazing bikes, I used to hear those scream on hot Summer nights!

Aside from the power, the lines alone are perfect - what a motorcycle should look like, not some kind of kitchen utensil like the way bikes look now...

The love for even the sound of a triple, I went everywhere on my triple, even tourering, a high mileage rider. Having had a few, my greatest motorcycle love. Never hit the powerband midcorner , death awaits those who do, a wise man told me in the 1970s.

Rode many Kawasaki bikes through my youth, H1 H5 Z1 k650 brutal 900 my favorite was a 250 S1E pulled about 18000 revs.moved on to Yamaha with RD250 Rd 350 380 500 750 then a worked Radian 650( nearly killed me, not its fault, a stock truck cut the corner and ran over both of us ) then a limited edition euro XKR 1300 ran 155 hp on 91 octane, never got to top speed as chickened out at 250 Kph. Would still be riding today but for severe health problem…

Thanks for sharing your story. No shame in hitting 250 and calling her a day. I may have hit 200 Kms an hour when I was about 23. Now I’m 66 and I did 150 Kms an hour before slowing down. I was riding a GSX1100 Suzuki the other day. Sorry to hear about your health. Take care from Canada 🇨🇦.

I had the same bike ! Did you put that rear fender on yourself ? Or was that OEM ? Mine was the Canadian version . It had no rear fender , Even the photo on page 1 of the owners manual showed no rear fender . Mine was a 73 model. Mach III with CDI . Great bike .

Such a beautiful motorcycle. I bought one brand new (yellow and iridescent bronze) I loved that machine more than any other I ever had. Would polish it every time I got home. I ended up getting more money than I paid for it when I traded in on a Ducati 860. Such a contrast in power curves. On a standing quarter mile few could match the Mach 3. It was like strapping a rocket between the legs.

Bad trade. :D
@artistjoh

@@Insightts It was definitely not a bad trade. I loved the Mach 3, but it was also dangerous, with a frame that was prone to death wobbles (not just reputation - I experienced it) and while it had raw horse power and acceleration, the Duke 860 had torque and was beautiful for high speed cruising. Had I kept the Mach 3 I cannot be certain that I would be alive today. If only it had a stronger frame, however one of the reasons it was so fast was because they reduced weight in the frame. But for all it's dangers, the Mach 3 Kwacka was sensationally beautiful, and always felt like a rocket between the legs

@@artistjoh I was just kidding with ya and I understand what you mean, I was a kid back then and have never riden one myself, someone I knew in the neighbourhood had a beautiful light grey Kawasaki 350 of those venomous beats. Unfortunately they were the end of many braves but it's hard not to love them, you just don't see them too often anymore.

not when she's been warmed up ;) when a warm 2 stoke smokes too much it's either tuned too fat in the carbs or the oil pump delivers too much oil. However when a COLD 2-stroke doesn't smoke THAt is in fact bad :D
@TheShrededward
@TheShrededward 9 лет назад
if it doesn't look like your bike is on fire, you're not giving it enough 2 stroker oil.
