Have an 01 one. Brilliant thing. Much less vibey than my old Suzuki GS500 and lighter & cheaper to run than my old Hornet 600. Cheap to run. Comfy to ride. Enough power when you need to overtake. Good review. Thank you PS. Polite reminder when overtaking - check the double white lines (especially whilst filming 😉)
Great vid. I've just bought a 2006 ER-5 that needs tidying up. Could you recommend a good engine oil? Was thinking of Castrol Power 1. Appreciate any advice.
I would agree with your comments, I bought mine last September as a winter hack, cost me just under 1K, changed the tires banged it in for a mot, which it passed with flying colours and rode it for 3K, cleaned it down in March and throw it back in the shed. Got out of the shed this week, bought a service kit for for around £60.00 including the oil, checked it over fitted some heated grips ( getting old ), worst job was changing the spark plugs, and run around on it this week, mot at the end of the month and off I go again, very cheap ridding.
It is hard to get a better bike for the money. A well done video. Enjoyed it. Got my like mate. Keep it up and drop by when you can, you may like my content. :)
Good review, thinking about getting one to get back on road after 5 years, sounds perfect for me , my last bike was a 1000 fazer which would be far to quick for me now. Looks a good cheap plodder. Thanks for upload.
Bought one as a step up from my 125cc,,as a simple step up and a cheap way of getting into biking, cant grumble,,i can ride it and learn on it without the worry of a more expensive bike, would deffo say get one to anyone who just passed your A licence👍
Picked one up for £900 as an emergency run around while my daily ride was in the shop for a few weeks, original plan was to use it until I got my main ride back then sell it on, but I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed it for such and old cheap bike that she's now a mod project and permenant addition to the stable.
Mine seems to cope with motorway miles just fine although if I was doing it all the time I’d probably go down 2/3 teeth on the rear sprocket to achieve lower cruising revs. 👍🏻
End can will change the sound, the shorter the can the louder the sound essentially. If you fit a whole system you should ideally have the bike tuned to run with it correctly.
Great video mate!! I can't fault this video 1 being I want a ER5 as I have just passed my mod 2 direct access and 2 I live in burnham and 3 its nice to see some familer roads on youtube
