Great and fun motor school bike . I have 1 , sold it after 70 k km , and bought an other one . Set back : valves on models till 2014 (or 2015) , alternator coil, and fan . Last issue: the water drain pipe rust inside the tank . Except this , a sure cheap and great fun .

ER = essential riding, N for the naked version, F for the version with fairing

What you are trying to explain about the power feeling like VTEC is called the, "Powerband". It is where the power deliver is coming in during certain RPM ranges, moving up towards the end where it's peak power is at.

Most bikes with a sequencial transmission can clutch less shift but you shouldn't do it. Even a single miss can destroy your greabox.

N stands for "naked". The blinker is going too fast. You need a LED relay.

Anybody watching this for 'should you buy' they are ugly, they sound awful, but by god they are great bikes! They are lightweight, they are very nimble, they are fantastic 0-60mph bikes and cheap on insurance too. They are capable of motorway/highway riding no problems. They corner great, you can really lean these over. They will beat most bikes off the line, up until 70mph but then you will watch the 4 cylinders take off after that. They are great for short riders up until 175cm, over that you will start to be cramped, not that you can't ride it, just it's ideal for short people. The first models still reign best to date the 06-08 models, the newer ones get progressively worse believe it or not. The one big con about these bikes is that the seating position does put stress on the wrists, along with the vibrations (not that they are bad, but added together) you will experience pretty bad wrist fatigue and pins and needles in your hands but that can be rectified with better bars on them. Ok now as someone who had one of these as my first big bikes, and someone who owns a MT09 currently, I am going back to the ER6N and getting rid of my MT09. Why you may ask, well it's simple, the ER6N is very good, cheap, and reliable bike that ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to everyday riding, it's not the best but it's a bike that you can keep, and ride for a very long time. The MT09 on the other hand is just a headache when you ride them everyday. Yes they have a great upright position, yes they have tons of torque, yes they wheelie in first, second, and third gear, but they are just such a headache because the throttle is the worst part about that bike, followed by the suspension, I have upgraded ohlins on mine and they are still pretty awful, it is just something about the bike, they aren't planted enough. You get the wobble at 95mph, the bikes cost a lot to insure. Overall, they are just a fun bike that will put a massive smile on your face if you are only going out for a ride, but if you are serious with riding, they aren't good bikes at all. The petrol/gas mileage is awesome on them though, I do give it that. Both bikes rated out of 10 in my personal opinion: ER6N I will give it a solid 7/10 MT09 I will give it a 4/10 why such a low score on the MT09, because when you incorporate everything to do with riding such as city, country, motorway/highway, messing around, on top of that how the bike handles, the throttle, the general usage, they just suck, but what they are good for is having a ton of fun and popping the front wheel up, but that is where the line is drawn, they are essentially a very heavy motocross bike that has a engine that sounds beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret owning a MT09 for 1 second, but they just aren't good enough to be an only bike, the ER6N is.

Sweet bike. I got the same exact year and color last year. I put on a windscreen for highway speeds and a delkovic exhaust. I thought it was a little quit witht that stock muffler. And some fresh Pirellis.
