Maybe time will make changes. People sure do... I remember a year ago, I wanted so bad to go outside for a ride but it was so frustrating, because of that pandemic situation. I kept watching videos instead. It wasn't the same but it was for sure better than nothing. All the best. 👍
J. Dallas Brooks Thanks. It really is a beauty, my Vulcan. Had the factory exhaust modified by Sound-Control-Systems in Dresden / Germany. Worse luck, regulations for "sounds" of exhausts are very strict over here in GER.
"I had the stock pipes modified by Sound-Control-Systems, e.g. didn't do it myself. This company is based close to Dresden (East Germany). It was a modification with an adjustable application as there are very strict regulations regarding the sound of bike pipes. The application I chose can be adjusted from a low to a lound sound which will then sound darker / muffled, too. Check this link, pls.:www.sound-control-systems.de/index.php?route=product/product&path=2&product_id=40P Perhaps there is a similar solution on offer where you live.
sorry to dissapoint, i was on my gf's account when i posted that :)) i'm getting mine in about one month. Got back to this video cuz i want my "background music" as i work :) peace.
I've been watching this video all day now at work... really nice scenery, and the ride looks so fun! How long have you had this bike for now? What are your general impressions of it in terms of financial expenses and technical issues, etc.?
Thanks for commenting! I've had my bike for 3 years now. I'm really happy and content with it. Nice criuser! Easy to handle despite the weight, even for beginners. I guess it's good for customising, too (Bobber?) The Kawasaki VN 900 is a very sound and reliable bike, low-maintenance and reasonably priced in maintenace in terms of petrol consumption (mpg approx 56), oil & oil filter change required only every 12.000 km or once per annum. I prefer to do it before the winter break (weather wise). Having a Kawasaki VN 900 really is a very good choice ;-)
Ive just bought this bike, traded in my honda vt400, pick it up tomorrow. Sorry about the smart ass remark about indicators but it got drummed in to me when i went through the learner riding school haha. It felt awesome on the test ride, cant wait to take it out on a good run.
Kai Lang Danke, freut mich. Kleiner Tipp: www.vn-biker.de
Hello! Yes, I can recommend the VN 900 Classic as a first bike. Despite it's weight of aprox. 300 kg it's good to handle. A well tempered bike. ;-o) Definitely yes, it is the real sound! The exhaust is the stock exhaust modified with a damper by the German company Sound-Controll-Systems to control and set the volume. Here in Germany we have strict regulations for the volume of bike exhausts ;-(
Love the sound. I also ride a 900 Classic but disappointed with the noise from the stock pipes so i'm very interested in the Mod. Did you do the conversion yourself.
+Dave Potts Thanks. Yes, the sound of the stock pipes sound like a sewing machine. I had the stock pipes convered by Sound-Control-Systems, e.g. didn't do it myself. This company is based close to Dresden (East Germany). It was a conversion with an adjustable application as there are very strict regulations regarding the sound of bike pipes. +Dave Potts Hi. You can demount the exhaust and post it to Sound-Control-Systems (aprox. 40 € via DHL parcel service). Have a look at the Sound-Control-Systems homepage. They give a good description how it works. That's how I did it and it worked well. I come from Leverkusen, actually, so quite close to Cologne.
(flyingfritz)
Russell Bolte No problem on short rides up to 75 mph (120 km/h) when it's warm. But I do ride my bike with a windshield as it's more comfortable - less dead insects end on your face! I do recommend riding with a windshield on long rides, though. Check out my other video ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9i4742Yhvbw.html
I am looking to move to Germany from Greece! You can call me a petrolhead as I love cars and bikes (mostly cruisers). How is it there?(Road quality, how other people drive, are taxes expensive for cars and bikes?) Thanks!
Hi, the road quality is moderate and the people drive relatively aggressive. Depends on the area ... Taxes for cars and bikes depends on their cylinder capacity and their "pollutant category/exhaust emission" for example my bike is euro 3, 903 ccm = 68,00 EUR tax p. a. plus auto/bike liability insurance and this can be very expensive. Good luck for your intention.
Kristopher Moe Had the factory exhaust modified by Sound-Control-Systemsin Dresden / Germany. Worse luck, regulations for "sounds" of motorcycle exhausts are very strict over here in GER.
Ii have the Hepco & Becker Buffalo Costum Leather-Saddlebags with the C-Bow holder system on my VN 900 Classic, and i'm very happy with it. Look here www.hepco-becker.de/index.php/italienisch and here www.hepco-shop.de/produkte/gepaeck/saddlebags/buffalo-custom/satteltasche-buffalo-custom-350.html
Thanks for your post. There is a speed restriction on this road as well as radar controls. Overtaking is not reasonable, especially on Cologne roads ...
