Wow man. This machine is incredible. I remember when the H2 first hit and I immediately thought- "What if they put that engine in a naked?" Damn you Kawasaki!
Great video to demonstrate the KLCM and various power modes. This bike is notorious difficult to get "good" 0-60 times. Professional bike testers will not achieve any better than 3.5sec which is consistent with my best times testing my Z H2 (in "my world" this is sloooooow). The bike has too much power and way to crude ECM regarding controlling the power. It does not help that the weight is high up in the chassis and a short wheelbase. The gearing is also ridiculously "short" for such a powerful motor. You (GoblinRides) are also way to gentle with the clutch and you loose up to 1sec launching the bike as I see it from your video. Still I advice you to use a real acceleration meter - Dragy for example (not expensive). But you have a disclaimer ("bear in mind that I'm not a drag racer). :) Edit: You should probably not use Rider mode changing settings for power mode. A "non drag racer" would do better testing the bike in Road mode. Trust me. You should probably redo this video showing the differences between Sport, Road and Rain. The bike will then let you use full throttle in all modes. Rain restricts the bike to about 100HP, but a "non drag racer" would probably get the best 0-60 times in that mode with such "gentle" use of the clutch as you do. :) Sport mode will allow you to do fairly high wheelies in both 1st and 2nd :)
You can switch between power modes (sport, road and rain) by just holding up or holding down even wile moving as long as your not on the throttle... I Love my ZH2!!!
Yes, just clutch it and switch on the fly! I love it aswell, and this winter its getting power commander 5, full brock's performance exhaust system, an ecu flash... gosh cant wait to summer!
Crazy bike road mode is Full power with TC set at 2 by default, rain is Low power and TC set at 3 with Sports being Full power with TC set at 1...good job mate...
That looked enjoyable! I’m on the z650 up from the ninja 300. It was hard getting used to the z at first. I liked the linear feel of the 300 better. But I’ve been really shy on the gas and rpm’s not like I was on the 300. Would love for my next bike to be a z h2 and maybe start out on low power. I still got to become used to the z650 using more throttle and higher rpm thanks for the show!
Awesome experiment mate. No, it didn`t come over on camera (of cause it did!) :) and you certainly can hear the difference in revs and changes between 1st and 2nd. I have tried an R1 in all modes, for two years and I felt like I wasn`t in control of my own machine! ^^ I much prefer the "older/classic" bike because, having the confidence to handle the full power, in all weather and road conditions, all the time and "Taming the beast inside..." is the Best feeling you can ever have! You make a good point, when you said "Full power mode, more throttle response, more predictable" This is good, no?
Incase anyone is wondering, the launch control slows you down way to much. You can get better launches without it. My bike (h2 sx/se) has 4 krtc settings (off, 1, 2 and 3). Even with krtc off, launch control acts as krtc 2 and closes the throttle plates to limit power up until 3rd gear.
That depends. If you are good (sensitive enough) with the clutch and to *not* give full throttle in 1st the 0-60 is OK with KLCM active. About the same as with TRC=off(Rider mode) and an experienced "drag racer". KLCM will *not* work on a tuned bike (mine). The bike will then "loop" in both 1st and 2nd. Kawasaki engineers need to learn how to code the ECU better (BMW, Ducati and Aprilia is in another league regarding this).
Is the ZH2 gears that much shorter ur shifting to 2nd so early. My H2 SX 1st goes to over 80mph think 87mph. Ill take off like a turtle and roll into it and performance meters says 4.2 0-60.. Low power is 120hp Medium is 150hp High is 200hp (185hp on H2 SX)
Thanks for the video. I'm about to buy a ZH2 and was worried about taking my daughter out on it. Looks like I will use medium power for that or rain mode
I ride mine all maxed out sport mode, doesn't matter, all depends on your right hand. My daughter rides pillion with me. I see here on RU-vid a lot of the same regardless the brand, just be gentle on the gas when needed, and go for it if needed as well.
I have a 2021 in the U.S. with a tune and flash. Putting down 230 hp at the rear wheel. I accidentally put it in rain mode and didn't know it. Took off and I was like OMG! What is wrong with my bike?! I swear I thought something broke in the motor till I saw Rain on the dash and I was like OMG. LOL! 🤦♂
Hi, man. Thanks for your informative video! I'd like to know how much (hp) power you do feel on both low and middle-power modes out of 197 horses. Thanks
Nope. Not without re-gearing and lowering/strapping the front end. The ECM will also take out all the power (slooooow acc.) if the clutch is released agressively (which is mandatory for good launch/"good" 0-60/60 foot times). But you are of course right about that this bike is tricky to launch or "drag race". Stock it will lift the front wheel in 4th even in Road mode (at speeds above 200km/h). In cold weather mind you. On a very hot day you loose approx 30-40hp hp on top.. it is really bad without an intercooler. The ECU retards the ignition to prevent detonation and stock ECU closes the ETV above 10k. It is more or less "nutered" stock.
@@GoblinRides No need to apologize to him, If you didn't comment while you were doing this nobody would know what you where doing. I appreciate you making the video. I have a ZH2 and I've never rode it in anything but full power sport mode, I love this bike and I can't wait to get it reflashed.
