I have a 2020 model and absolutely love it. The power to weight ratio and the agility make it tons of fun to ride. I'm 5ft 11 and swapped for the taller seat too.

Re air temp: Considering that all modern have to read the air temp for the fuel mix, it seems nuts to leave that function off the display.

I was bred on BSA 650 Hornet, so the power of my Ninja 650 is entirely adequate. I really like the slipper clutch and gear position indicator, but I yearn for ride by wire throttle, and traction control on my 765RS and SuperSport 939

How is the vibration through the bars? The parallel twins can be buzzy beasts....I know, I used to own a '17 Ninja 650 and it made my hands go numb.

I was worried about this issue, before I buy mine. Very little vibration. Most of It in highway speed, If you touch the fuel tank.

It boggles my mind why Kawasaki insists on putting crappy tires on their budget bikes. These tires may be an improvement on what they initially offered but when I bought a 2017 z900 it came with Dunflop d214. I considered them as dangerous and replaced them at 1500 miles and they still had all their tread. And I'm the type to ride a tire to their bitter end. I bought Conti Road Attack 3 and it felt like a different bike.
@buragggg1

Are those tires not good ?
@blipco5
@blipco5 4 года назад
Cakal Cakal ...The dunflop 214 are so bad I literally threw them in a dumpster with full tread. I pray no poor soul finds them and mounts them on their bike. I should have cut them in half.

Cakal Cakal ...Those 214's were standard tires on the pre 2020 z900. From what I hear the new Dunflops are slightly better. I do t K ow what they're putting on the z650. Whatever...go with the Continental Road Attack 3. It will change your bike entirely. CONTINENTAL ROAD ATTACK 3.

Review form a 165cm swedish dude: Had mine since 2017 too 38000+ km (i regret never getting a new exaust after hearing your bike). You dont need more power on the road. Riding with people on sports bike who are "How the fuck can you keep up" ...(of course you are not keeping up on a straight, but who cares..).. well we are on twisty roads and you use 50% of our bike and I might use 80% of mine and I am not really pushing it... I changed my bar position too a bit higher too feel more one with the bike. I guess its because i've been riding motocross all my life. Love the bike and been doing camping trips like. 2000+ km and 10days+ camping trips through Norway and if u dont have some decent bike shorts you are going to have a bad time. Again I love the bike but it is time to upgrade. I am now choosing between a adventure bike or a sports bike and I dont know what to do..

165cm in Sweden must be as rare as a 190cm guy in thayland. 👍. Concerning to bikes, manufacters offer many options for different sizes and shapes and this one is perfect for smaller frames.

Upgrade the tires to sport touring like Mitas Touring Force or Pirelli Angel GT for better mileage and grip but these will reduce the mpg but improve the confidence. The clutch is absolutely fantastic. I like riding it on twisty roads. I would suggest upgrading to a little bigger windscreen for this bike because the stock one doesn't provide good wind protection at speeds higher than 100km/h. Mine is a 2019 tourer version and it's surely a nice bike. Nothing much but it is a good choice for new riders. If you're taller than 182cm and if you ride long distances you should go for a bigger bike. Sometimes I feel fatigue in lower legs becasue of such tight ergonomic.

I notice when you were scrolling through the TFT screen (08:59) it showed the average litres used per 100 kilometers was 7.6. According to my maths, 7.6 litres is 1.672 Imperial gallons and 100 kilometers is 62.137 miles, which gives an average fuel consumption of 37.16 imp mpg. As it stated your average speed was only 18kmph (11.18 mph) you weren't exactly thrashing it, so why the high fuel consumption?
@bennettsbikesocial
@bennettsbikesocial 4 года назад
Good spot! The bike had spent a lot of time idling before I took the video whilst I took photos etc. The previous day's riding gave a figure of around 6.1 l/100km which would equate to around 46 to 47 mpg. Still not great, but certainly better than 37. We hope to ride the bike again in the UK soon on some typical commuting journeys, so it will be interesting to see what sort of consumption we get then. Steve

I’m shopping for a new bike. I haven’t rode in about 4 years. Last bike was a 600 supersport. I’m considering the Z650, Z900, mt 07, and the cb 650r. The Z650 engine just seems boring to me.

If price is not that different I would get the Honda, has the best looks IMO and the engine is an inline 4.

I just traded my XSR700 (MT07) that I had for 2 and 1/2 years for a CB650R. Still running in at the moment but it’s a quality machine, a step up from the Yamaha in my opinion. The 4 cylinder engine is awesome and I am very happy.
