Man, I can't get enough of the styling of this Kawi. It's so spot on, the paint scheme and style, even down to the font, brings back so many memories of 70s bikes. I loved them, but I also like modern bikes that look like a cross between scorpions and Gundam, like my. GSXS1000GT

I started on a Z650RS two years ago. The 900 will be my upgrade in another few years. Love them!

I bought the 2018 Z900rs Cafe in lime green in January of 2019. It was not my first bike but it was my firts new bike. I have 22,500 miles on it. Its still all stock except for radiator guard and rear fender delete. Ive ridden it in 10 different states taking trips with my wife on her z650. I love this bike. She rips and its not to bad in the corners. I have no plans to getvrid of it.

I'm lucky to live in some really wide-open places, haven't thought twice about buying the z900rs cafe after 9k miles. Seating height and riding position, especially on the Cafe version, fits me like a glove for 250+ mile rides. Low vibration helps a lot with endurance. As mentioned, it's ready to blast off over 6k rpm, I've been riding in the higher rev range lately (6-9k rpm) and it seems to like it there. Tolerating traffic is difficult with it.

I have been riding since 1979, my first bike was a 1975 Z1. I have a 2019 z900rs Cafe now, and the tires are stock. I can not see how they "suck". Do they wobble? do they go flat? wear out prematurely? I don't think a beginner is going to be pushing tires to the limit. I know there are better tires out there, but I really don't understand all the hatred towards the stock Dunlops

They are pretty bad imho if it's cold, or damp, and they don't offer much feel.

Great reasonable advice. Worked my way up from an FZR600, then a GSXR750, took a decade break and climbed back into riding on a Rebel. I’m looking at the Zed this spring. Like your jacket too. What brand are you wearing?
@tsdmoto
@tsdmoto 2 месяца назад
I hope you enjoy the Zed when you get it! This jacket is the old Dainese Super Speed Textile Jacket. If you can find one in good shape and fit, then get it! It's a great jacket.

Ive had the originals from the 70s, ive owned the real kawi eliminators from the 80s the drag strip rockets with 100 hp inline 4s in a cruiser frame, also owned a couple kawi concourse from the early 2000s up to the big boy the GTR 1400, but I do miss my old kz 1000s from the 70s , just a fun bike and would run forever just like any CB Honda from the era.

there's only about 10 of these things for sale private party west of the Mississippi, none are 3-4 thousand dollars. The cheapest 2 are $6700 and $6500. both have about 10K miles

I would suggest it to a new rider. It is fairly inexpensive and you won't outgrow it in a week. It is only around 100 hp at the wheel? 100hp isn't bad and a good tune would take care of that fueling issue.
@nightwolf_truckfein1066
@nightwolf_truckfein1066 2 месяца назад
Not everyone are naturals man. Some people aren't coordinated and need under 50hp to learn comfortably cause the fear of 100hp will blind your learning capabilities and can easily get away from someone.

@@ToxicGamer86454 I mean that's one point of view but riding a motorcycle is a lot to think about. The clutch can be hard to comprehend at first. A smaller bike just provides a quicker learning curve. Just cause someone can't jump on a 100 hp bike that weighs less 500lbs right away doesn't mean they can't learn more faster on a smaller bike n doesn't make them less likely to be good at it. There are guys that have been riding for yrs n still waddle n can't turn within 20 ft or take off straight or even know how to counter steer or trail brake. They never took the time to learn the fundamentals on a smaller bike
@cloud9847
@cloud9847 2 месяца назад
@@ToxicGamer86454 absolute horrible attitude bro. Those people want to ride just like you do just maybe not able to learn as quickly. You shouldn't shit on others wanting to learn and needing a bit lower hp or whatever. Having 100+hp vs 50 to 60hp means that when a new rider whisky throttles they have a FAR less chance of it being a huge thing but more something they can learn from.

Problem I see is you can buy the concours for about the same amount as the z 900 and you get a extra 65 hp and more torque.
