I've had an '05 for about 15 years. I think it's the best (cheater) supersport prior to the introduction of ABS/Rider Aids. It's sort of the ultimate analog 600-class bike. It's more comfortable, smooth, and liveable than its competition. Build quality is superb. Kawi nailed it w/ the 05-06 model.

I found a 2005 for $1k that was in someone's storage for 10 years. I Slowly rebuilt everything - rebuilt and dialed in front/rear suspension, completely rebuilt front/rear brake system, sticky DOT Pirelli SC-1's, dyna-tuned the engine, tore off all the plastics, bright as day Baja Design headlight, and mounted some mx bars on her. Omg - so much fun to rip around and commute on + occasional track day. Everyone wants my bike because they see how much stupid fun I'm having - life is good. Also added 3.29 gearing - yeee-haw!

35,000 miles on my 06 636 and the engine is still going strong. Love this bike, don't think I will ever still it.

I have an 06 that I’ve half way stunted. I haven’t cut anything I just put a cage and sub frame and a sprocket. I just cruise around and do some stand up wheelies and I absolutely love this bike.

I love my '06 636. With some better brakes and race sprockets to move the powerband up this bike is incredible through the corners, although you do lose some of that midrange power.

Have had my black 06 636 a year now. .. fitted carbon fibre front n back mudguards, heels plates , rearsets , micron exhaust , gold levers n gold bar ends .. white and gold kawasaki, zx6r and fairing sponsor stickers . She's nice

Great review, thnx. Tip: the dashboard has an RPM-shift indicator light. Which is a bit adjustable between 12500 and max rpms and in brightness. If you enable that, you can play even with sunglasses full throttle, while unable to read the lcd with some margin to overreffs😎 ...only on the track of course 😉

I love my 636 probably the cleanest one out there! 2006 Zx6r with a little over 10k this is my second one full real! carbon fiber fairings everything down to the hugger to the brake reservoir zzr cammed power commander 3 flash tuned full titanium exhaust motion pro throttle elka rear shock steel braided brake lines with galfer rotors all the way around

I have the same bike, agree with your review. Weak link is brakes, benefit a lot form braided lines I found. Love it to death, it's an old bike but built well and the high quality parts really last.

I haven't rode an 06 600RR yet but I do personally own an 08....both the Kwak and the Honda are fantastic bikes, which ever you pick I'm sure you will love it!

18 years riding on mine, bought it new, i am only one owner.... 65000 ml on speedo and going, track days, mountains and daily riding... bad thing, shop f756346373d up original engine, but, i got the hybrid from a guy, block 636 and head from 600, , guy i got it from is a KAWA only rider, knew so much about engines of that generation. with PC3 and Akra its a blast to ride. will never think twice if had to decide on it again... keep rubber side down guys, good day...

Have owned 4 kawi ninja 600s starting with original 1985 red amd white demon from hell lol 3 later 2000 models. Save you time, no reviews needed.if it says kawasaki it is bad ass reliable fast good handling bike. Reviews goid for lusting new updates but bought all 4 of mine having never ridden that model. I know jawi.makes best 600 period, hell staryed with old gpz550. And kx 125s. Kawi never disappoints me.

i have the 636 b 2004 and i love the design special the heck only what i miss is a gear display.. why this is not standard ? why i have racelaps buttons ? i need this never better a gear display is more important. on video at this modell i dont love the exhaust design this oval under seat I find the model with the double outlets, the triangular ones under the seat, to look better. and kawasaki must be for me in lime green ^^

Couldn't comment for Aus prices but its a buyers market in the UK for bikes at the moment, some bargains to be had!

Great video. I really like the look of the 08 ZX6R, but do you think it's best avoided because of the 599cc? I'm coming from a '97 ZX7R & what something lighter & easier to push around the garage. Thanks

Hi Steve, I don't know about the 599cc bikes but the 636 from 2005 is excellent. It will pull cleanly from 40 mph in top and has that mental acceleration thru 10,000 to 16,000. Make sure you try the 636!!!

That's a tough call! I had a lot of fun with each bike, I think I prefer the styling on the CBR but that extra bit of power from the 636 really makes a difference. If I had to choose, I would pick the CBR for the road but would opt for the Kawasaki if it was for the track.
