Yes! Let’s do it Kaweco! Haha They do have plans to release a piston again in their line up! I have no idea what it will be like, or when it will be out. But it’s exciting news either way.

@@adventuredenali Look for the interview the CEO of Kaweco did with Appleboom last year, I'm pretty sure he said a piston filler Sports was in the works and it sounded as if it was close (e.g., perhaps this year or next?). That would be great, the converters are just too tiny and refilling the cartridges is ok, but a piston filler would be so much better. Found it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-snRYKE80NSE.html Also, always enjoy your videos.

I went straight from owning none to getting the Brass Sport as I do love metal pens AND of course, not forgetting watching video’s like yours where they are spoken about and used so well 👍🏻🙂 If I buy more, I can see myself ending up with an addiction that would be hard to break. They are so damn good! 😂 Great video, thanks 🙏🏻 (Also, I totally agree with your shirt motto. It has to be good ☕️) I may need to sample the Steel Sport next myself.

I own the brass, steel, and 7 different colors of aluminum. My favorite is the steel with a brass clip, I like mixed metals. I love the weight of it and the fact that it doesn’t leave a smell on your hands like the brass. Great video.

Thank you for the video! Lovely as ever. You mentioned how tight the cap fits onto the steel sport. I have found that instead of pulling the cap straight up, a slight twist in the direction of the grind whilst taking the cap off makes all the difference.

I just got the Kaweco Brass Sport as a birthday present, and because of your videos I got the Diamine Ancient Copper ink to use with it. I couldn't be happier with this match. I had to get used to the ink a little bit because I was used to write everything in blue. But now I love it. I carry it everywhere and I use it as much as I can because it has become my favourite pen. Congrats on the beautiful videos you make 🌈 Greetings from Spain!

I just got my first Kaweco and I love it. It is a plastic mint green one with an EF nib and I really like how it writes. I purchased a few other budget fountain pens and didn't like them and almost gave up on fountain pens. Looking forward to the rest of your Kaweco videos.

My first, and I think you'd like it, was the raw aluminum pen. It's so shiny pretty but also gets small scratches over time to a cool patina. I have it in fountain pen, roller ball, and ball point! It's your fault I now also own/love the brass pen, but I've also quickly grown my collection to include the steel and several plastic and aluminums. It's pretty darn addicting. I consider the small size of the converter an invitation to switch inks often! :)

I own the aluminum in rose gold and use it exclusively! I haven’t felt a need to purchase a new fountain pen due to this. It feels so luxurious, glide’s beautiful and is so fun to use. I exclusively use a a waterproof ink in black so that my writing never fades on paper. It took me almost two years to bite the bullet and purchase this pen after using a Lamy sport and a pilot that was gifted to me. The lamy felt so light and juvenile to me and the pilot felt to big and bulky that it just didn’t fit my needs. If I were ever to purchase another it would be another Kaweco sport but for now I love love love my rose gold sport.

Totally agree about your thoughts on the piston filler. The larger ink capacity is a godsend especially if I take it to travel. I have the Lamy 2000 and I refill the ink around once every 3-4 weeks, since I write every day. Whereas with the Lamy Safari with its tiny converter, I end up refilling it every 2 days.

I only have a little pink plastic one, I don’t mind the weight and it’s a nice size, perfect for work and not a tragedy if I lose it. It rarely use the clip, I’m always too rushed…it gets tossed in my scrub pockets, with lots of other stuff, including a bunch of metal keys, and it still looks ok. The aluminum one I’ve seen in person, and I love the red, but you are right, it does seem like it would scratch easily….which is why I was considering one of the distressed ones. No doubt the brass is the most durable. There is something nice about having something that looks better as it ages, like thick leather bags or cowboy boots. I wonder, though, considering the weight of the brass, if it would dent if dropped on a hard floor. I try to be careful but the nature of my job is rushed and harried and I’m always dropping my pens.

I recently invested in a brass Sport and regret nothing! It is an absolute delight to write with (I got it in a fine nib). The Kaweco Sport AL pens work very well for me. Of course you can eyedropper the plastic ones, but I've been using my Kaweco AL brown "Golden Expresso" as an eye-dropper since 2021. No issues, such as burping, no leaking (some silicone grease on the fine threads of the feed portion that fit into the barrel), no problems. In this configuration the pen barrel holds a lot of ink, like 8x the amount that tiny converter holds. It had been my daily driver so to speak, just the right size for me with a front pocket on my shirts. I'm not sure why the fear about using today's inks in metal pen barrels that are completely enclosed. My limited experience is that the ink doesn't corrode the inside of the AL, as least not very quickly. Iron Gall ink used in days gone past (for the most part of days gone past) will corrode metal at a faster rate. Most modern inks are NOT Iron Gall ink, so, ya, what's the issue? The steel nibs on so many fountain pens aren't hurt by the ink, what makes anyone think that the AL (or some other metal) will be harmed by the ink? I had been using Noodler's #41 brown which is a "Warden's" ink, which worked very well for me. Thank you for the review.

I know this comment is a year late, a bit mushy, and all in excitement.... but I want to post it anyway! When I think of the Brass Sport, I think of your journeys with yours and the story of losing it to the "inspired camping writer thief" 😂 I just want to say thank you for your excitement of these fountain pens. I finally made my purchase of a Brass Sport after a year and a half of using fountain pens. It hasn't shipped yet, but I'm just so excited because I feel like your history with your pen adds to the intrigue of the pen in general. I'm probably being a bit silly about it, but oh well. Again, thanks for being a pen enthusiast, and thanks for encouraging and inspiring 🙂

I LOVE the Kaweco Sports. I know the plastic ones are light but I have started collecting them because of the colours.I have 4 plastic ones and the brass (which I love.) I agree about the converters - such a small capacity - so I started refilling Kaweco cartridges once they are empty and they last much longer. I also have a thing for pink pens. I never really considered the aluminum one and I typically don’t like rose gold anything but after seeing it in this video I am rethinking all of that! It might be my 6th sport.... Looking. forward to your comparison of the regular and premium nibs!

I have the copper Lilliput and would love a copper Sport. Definitely would be cool to have a Sport piston filler (Lilliput piston filler would be awesome to get too). I don’t have the aluminum or steel, but do have the brass Sport along with a few plastic ones. I don’t mind the light weight of the plastic ones, but the brass definitely has some heft. I need to ink up some of the newer ones, but I’ve been limiting how many pens get inked at a time, so have fallen behind in trying out my newer pens. Would get to more, but every time the Lilliput or my Chocolate Sport run out of ink, I put a new cartridge in them. They haven’t left my pen cup since I got them.

Exactly as described: Sandblasting residue, which seems to go away. Both pens are really really good. I compare to others I have and I favor the Sport due to the superb feeling of quality when writing. The ink just flows so perfectly and the weight and shape is feels so good. The Steel Sport remains my favorite Kaweco Sport pen ever. It’s the one I’d never part with for anything. I’ve given away almost all of my plastic ones, save a few. I have a handful of the AL ones. Once considered buying the Brass Sport, but yet to get one. Bought the Supra Steel instead. Don’t you have any of the Art Sport or AC Sport pens? Would be cool to see them figure in these comparisons. The Copper Sport is one that I’ve been longing and clamoring for what seems like years already. A piston filling Kaweco of any kind is something that I’ve also publicly talked about for years. Not so much for the bigger fill capacity, though that’s an obvious bonus. But I’d just enjoy using it more. Kaweco’s mini piston converter is silly, though the cartridges are good enough for me. The nib companions would be very interesting for most viewers, I’m sure. In summary, going by my own experience, Kaweco’s M nib is the most reliable, consistent, nicest of their range. The others I’ve found to be uneven in performance. I bought two of the Premium steel nibs. A bit too slick and smooth, and somewhat lacking in character and hence the sort of pleasure and experience I had in mind. No regrets, but didn’t turn out to be stellar for the $100 I paid for the pair.

My 2¢: 1. I am uncrazy about my (plastic) Frosted Sport because it feels cheap and flimsy to me. But given your comments perhaps it is no worse than other plastic Sports. I bought it to get the cheapest possible BB, which I am happy to have. 2. I didn't notice any textural peculiarities in my new Steel Sport. What I noticed was how light it feels to me. I must have had unrealistic preconceptions. 45g sounds substantial, but it doesn't seem so to me when I pick it up. 3. I actually prefer refilling cartridges to other inking methods.

Two Kaweco Sport FPs you don't seem to own yet are the AL "Stone-washed." They come in two colors: Black, and blue. They are excellent because they are pre-"distressed" and are already dinged up. I will be making a video to share the different nibs! It’ll be the last in this little series of four, so stay tuned!

I do actually put some some strips of thin double sided tape behind the clip on my metal Kawecos to prevent it from sliding off.

I think this just saved me a bit of money. I fell in love with the 'beginner friendly' TWSBI eco and I don't deviate from it. I came across the Kaweco sport and fell for the fun colors, but ultimately I don't think its for me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I do love the aluminum more than the plastic. I have the Hello Kitty AL-Sport and it’s my love. But the plastic are growing on me and I’ve just purchased my second one.

The plastic one may look cool, but it feels really cheap. If I had it to do over, I would definitely go with the metal ones. I would love to see a copper one! If memory serves, the clips are called antique? I have two on order from Truphae.

Honestly, i'm so excited for the giveaway! I just love the brass sport. I have a softspot for everything that's aging and showing it's use gracefully. I have some leather bookmarks that my late aunt was using for years and they are handmade and have all their own little ways to show their use. I think a copper kaweco would also age beautifully!! Definetly agree with the converter. It's sooo small, a piston version would sell very well. I usually carry all my kaweco sports with me because I use them to journal and sketch on the go. My last sport was made out of plastic and it sadly broke because I was using it every day and carried it everywhere. That's why I want my next kaweco (or fountain pen) to be the brass one. I could just throw it in my bag with all my art supplies and journals etc. and not worry about it breaking!! I also really like the fact that it's heavier. In my hands the kaweco weights almost nothing and is very small, so some added weight will definetly helps with drawing, because I also use metal leadholders. The only downside is the converter size. My other "daily driver" is a twsbi eco for University and that one lasts about a week with one filling? The kaweco is empty after maybe a page of writing or a few pages in my sketchbook. I think even a regular sized cartridge holds more ink. I've thought about filling one of those with a syringe but I'm a bit afraid of doing so in case it doesn't work

I filled my kaweco sports cartridge with a syring, it worked well.

@@margyb7469 i will definetly give it a try! A transparent piston-filling kaweco would still be incredible

@@LetsArion I was going to buy a convertor until I read how small they are 🙁 but will stick to filling cartridge up until the create a piston fill ine

@@margyb7469 i bought the converter for 5€ and I'm so frustrated with it... I can draw 1-2 pages and have to refill it. But since I carry it with my Sketchbook i'm afraid of eyedropping it

@@LetsArion Yeah that's expensive for such a small item that doesn't carry much ink. I'm glad I found out before I bought one. My cartridge refill worked well, so I'll stick to that.

Kaweco Brass is a dream pen. I would get it just for the patina.

Oh no, I thought I was ok having bought just a Kaweco Brass, but now I've seen them mixed together with hybrid kaweco sports colors I am not so sure anymore 😁
