Because she has all the qualities Murdoch looks for in a journalist. She has a pretty (depending on your opinion) face, she has long hair, will simply parrot what her bosses tell her to and she attempts to antagonize people who appear and looks at her feet mumbling "I want to go home..." when the person interviewing her shots her down. This is what you will see much much more regularly when (I wont say if because the Tories will make sure he gets what he wants) Murdoch takes full control. Then everyone bitching about the BBC and it's perceived "bias" will see what bias REALLY is.
Coming back to this is just such a treat "Two sides to every story!" "Precisely which why I told one and he told the other, Kay!" That part has the comedic bite of an early Guy Ritchie movie, absolutely love it.
The research team would have everything on the entire family, sibling birthdays, past relationships, cars driven, types of music liked, Murdoch lot have entire databases on celebrities to spin the truth, so I would say yes Sky probably DID have that in their "diary". They like to conveniently forget these databases when trying to spin the UK public into agreeing to something they would otherwise not do. E.g. EU referendum results.
4:30 when he calls her "Hosanna" you can just hear very faintly (with the volume up) somebody absolutely pissing themselves in the background, or is that me? Either way, it is truly glorious.
Highly unlikely the laughter was for what he was saying, I used to work there and most people in the newsroom don’t watch the output generally or don’t have the volume of the TV up because of the echo you would get due to the delay.
@@joewebfilmhow did he wipe the floor with her? He got caught out spouting nonsense and then said it was his side of the story which is moronic to say the least considering he didn’t have any involvement in what happened and didn’t even know any of the details what is his side of the story exactly? A story he wasn’t involved in? Why would he have a side? Moronic statement to make and not in any way journalism, he’s essentially a gossip columnist pretending to be a serious journalist and can’t even admit when he is wrong
Kay is probably the worst news reader/journalist (whatever she calls herself) what is her argument...her interviews have no meaning or logic!! Get some lessons from James love!
You bring the name of John Walton Snr. into disrepute, sir. He chopped wood, and sent his son to university, which was a big thing in depression era West Virginia. Pranking this alt-R stuff is crazy anyway. There is no ALT-R on the Playstation controller. I just tried ALT-R on my PC, and nothing happened. Now that is the truth about the disruptive right. Nothing actually happens. Oh, and Xbox one as well. So there. Shit, ALT}R refreshes a web page. Like alt-F5. I take it all back.
She's a thug. And she also happened to blab out there in question form "I hope you are not staying sky news has an agenda?" Seriously how detached from reality can she get? Reality is Sky news is without doubt the most illiberally liberal politically correct pile of shit on the airwaves.
I may be entirely wrong here, but is this the same Kay Burley that had an affair with Frank Lampards agent? If so, it would definitely explain why she is getting her knickers in a twist here.
She lacks the fundamental quality of comprehension she acknowledged the pair thrashed the matter out ending on good terms yet pursued the idiocy of asking for an apology. If she really is an intimate pal of Lampard (as she hints) this interview should have been handed to someone impartial not that I believe a word this woman says. She really must have intimate photographs of senior wallahs at SKY to still be in a job.
Kay 'Surly' Burley is impartial - impartial or should that be ignorant? to learning the facts and distinguishing between inaccurate accusations and idiotic ramblings - both of which she is guilty of. She's like a teenager spreading gossip so that she can be well known within her peer group. If she's that horny for FL then she should just tell him and see if he's interested - and when he's finished 'laaaaaaaaaaaaarfin' he can give her his answer!!.
"I doubt you've got that anniversary in your desk diary"? "I have" ! Such a pathetic childish answer. As if she has the dates of the deaths of footballers mothers in her diary.
She asked if he thought she had an agenda. In my opinion she did......to try and discredit him. And in my opinion she failed. As why did she ask for an apology? It is none of her business. The matter had been dealt with directly between the two parties involved ......as I should be. It does not require third party interference.
And more often than not the obnoxious Kay Burley does nothing else than push her own personal agenda down her guests throats. Oh, with the expection of when they are kissing her arse.
If this had been a working class person, or even a footballer from a working class background who wasn't England's golden boy then Sky News would have ripped them apart, good on James O'Brien for having some integrity and standing up to this lot
I would suggest basing your understanding of a series of events on the reports of the gutter press a failing as a journalist. But, in this case that is exactly what James Obrien did. He read trash, made a biased opinion and then was called out for it by one of the only parties involved. And rather than admit to making a mistake he tried to defend his position.
She also asked the wife for the Suffolk Strangler “Do you think he’d have been less likely to murder prostitutes if you’d had a better sex life?” Her chat with Mick Lynch is the stuff of legend.
So James said that he believes articles until they can be refuted........ that is the opposite of logical reasoned thought. You should only except something once it is proven to be real. He's the definition of a pseudo-intellectual.
To be honest, I love James but he is on a sticky wicket here and Burley, on this occasion is doing her job correctly, and giving him tit for tat. Entertaining. God, remember the innocent, good old days when this shit was the most controversial thing going on?
Haha I love JOB could talk his way outta anything. I'm a big fan of LBC but agree with Franks summation of media leeches... but they only make money beciuase we care about other peoples BS right? Loudest laugh I've had in a few days, can't believe I missed the live broadcast!
I love how these two actually think of themselves as journalists and not just as nasty salacious gossip mongering fish wives. This clip is a perfect example of how low and petty the standards of so called journalism have gone. They are presenters of gossip nothing to do with journalism.
I never knew who James Obrien was until this morning. It's such a very good interview which James controlled, how Kay can take the moral high ground regarding her verbal bile really does astonish me. Well done James, you are a legend
@Ron Venty I couldn't give to over ripe figs what you think. You could say my comment was rhetorical. So you can keep you comment and stick it where the proverbials go. Bye bye.
@@andrewburman9469 what a silly little man you are. If you had any wits about you, you would know sky news and Kay the witch Burley have a left wing agenda. More importantly I dont need permission from giu or anybody else to exercise my opinion so go play marbles on the motorway and take your left wing boring agenda with you. Just because I think Kay is an idiot which she is doesnt make me transparent, means I've got a brain ! !
The funny thing is that Frank Lampard actually put his case across better than Burley did, when he's the footballer and she's the professional journalist.
why does he shrink when she says you're not suggesting we have an agenda? an honest response would be yes, you do have an agenda which reflects the interests of your owner, and nor suggesting it, just saying so directly because it's so fucking blindingly obvious
No matter who I see Kay Burley attempting to take down she gets obliterated and makes a jackass of herself. Must be well connected at SKY. Love the the tic when she gets under pressure. Wink Wink
Kay: "You wouldn't be accusing us of having an agenda would you???" Also Kay: "Are you sorry for what you did? Say sorry... So yeah about that apology I'm trying to get out of you" James doesn't need to make the accusation, you just broadcast his case and point xD
O’Brien tends to err towards an unpleasant mix of self righteousness and just being a verbose prat. Good on Kay Burley to give him a burly response to his BS.
@@Driver2616 Oh Brian is often wrong (Lampard debacle for example) I can’t remember the context with Kay Burley but I liked how she put the verbose Pratt down.
Gob Brien said on that show: "The Problem is in the papers is you only ever see one side of the story". Yes, Einstein. Newspapers have partisan agendas and he would do well to do a bit more research before only having an opinion which was reflected in a bloody rag. James O'Brien talks a lot cleverer than he actually thinks
I remember listening to this on the radio at the time and you couldn't help but cringe. We're all Fallible, it's easy to critique those who live their lives in the Media Spot light. I think overall James O'Brien is a force for good. I know the name Kay Burley, but not someone I really pay any attention to or go out of my way to listen.
