3 day trip on the Big Manistee river! Of course looking for great free camp spots. We used Wildnerness Canoe Trips for our shuttle up river to US131 for our launch. Tons of wild life on the river including cows and horses. Enjoy!

I just stumbled across this video by chance. I live here in Manistee. I often wondered what it would be like to kayak or canoe that stretch of the river. I'm going to check this video out for sure. Thanks.
@@ryanjbrandenburg5276 yah it was pretty cool. When we go out hiking and exploring, we don't take a radio with us. The sound of the fire and telling stories about cool shit we have done or seen usually fits better. we can listen to a radio in our car or at home. I recognized several areas on the river from flying my drone through there. We will have to borrow a canoe one weekend and do the same trip you did, there were a couple of spots i saw that i'd like to hit. And yah, steak is always good over the fire. well done bud.
Man this was a cool video man.can tell it was a lot of fun. Kayak camping trip are always fun to do exactly when you have other people to do it with. The weather was good & no problem too. I like how all 3 of you was kayaking barefooted 👣 man. That was awesome to see cuz I have to Kayak barefooted 👣 too because I have big very very Extremely wide feet 🦶. I like in the video at 33:35 were you had your feet 🦶 relaxing on top of the kayak man. Me & my 6 boys we all do that & We call in ( Close control ) "LOL" it's so relaxing that way. I also like how all 3 of you was wearing flip flops 🩴 man. Me & my family are huge huge huge fan of flip flops 🩴because I have big & very very Extremely wide feet 🦶 sz15 6E wide ( which is very very extremely wide ) with very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe & my 6 boys have very wide feet 🦶 except for my 3rd son John who feet 🦶 is Exactly like mine Except he has big toes that are Evenly straight across too. My foot outgrow shoes , socks , & boots when I was 18 years old & Flip flops 🩴is the only footwear that will barely and I mean barely fit on my feet 🦶 because my toes are wider than the flip flops 🩴 straps. It's so so cool to see someone else that kayak camp the same way as you. Good video buddy thanks you for sharing it.

I have plans to go on a kayak camping trip with my family ( me , wife , 6 boys , daughter in law , my lil brother Tim , & his son Jimmy , & our family friends my wife co-worker & her family ( Her , Husband , 3 boys ) we all planned on going on a 40 mile kayaking camping trip for Labor day weekend. It's going to be a blast man.
How long from 131 to mesick ...we wanna do a trip....great video btw and safe travels...hunted off 23 between manton and mesick for decades ..been down to the river and always wanted to go down it 💯💯👍
What stretch of the big Manistee is this? We are talking about bringing my 14.5 semi V bottom boat and putting in at High Bridge near Wellston and moving slowly up river to get on fish. Any advice for 1st time boaters in that area of the river? Great video by the way. Thanks in advance for any advice and help.
Thanks! Umm honestly I didn't see any boats on the stretch we did, a couple of houses had small fishing boats docked but that was all. We used Wilderness Canoe Trips. They shuttled us up to US131 and we paddled back down to them in Mesick MI. Sorry not much help. Enjoy!
