My wife found your channel, we love you videos and love to camp ourselves. We also happen to live in Little Rock and love how beautiful our state is and how you guys have shown that to so many people. Keep up the wonderful content.
What a great place to camp. To bad the weather didn’t cooperate. Amazing how much gear those kayaks hold. Your videos are top notch and whom ever does the editing knows what their doing. Just beautiful guys. Congratulations on 6 thousand subs. Keep up the great work and you’ll be at 10 thousand before you know it. Take good care of yourselves in this crazy time we’re living in. Unfortunately I think it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Look forward to your next video.
I grew up just up the road on Brady Mt. Road by Lake Ouachita. Miss that place. Best island camping I've ever found. Just a few tips or observations. First, get you a Platypus gravity filter. You'll thank you later - those pumps are good but require that you be the one doing the work. You'll thank me later. Second, when camping like this (in excessive heat and humidity) get two tight mesh hammocks. You'll stop sweating at night, and with a tarp or two, you'll never have to worry about rain. You can also add on some noseeum bug nets that run along your ridgeline to prevent the skeeters from pestering you. Still, it's Ouachita... you can't go wrong so long as you're on the lake. Love the video! Keep it up guys!
Nice easy relaxing video. I was watching from the beginning and was sure there would be a time you'd talk about your channel growing and how you are stoked that you are inspiring people. You have inspired me. I already said it but, hey, it means something!! You found your niche and many people look for that their entire lives. You also were inspired by others to start, I'm sure. Right before you said you were in deep water to filter, I was thinking how I would want to do that in deeper water. Well, have fun! And Thanks!
My wife and I have spent a couple of evenings just binge watching your videos. Although we recently started to camp these passed couple of months, we've yet to stay in a outdoor camp site. All of our camping has been in our car, and it has been awesome. Not sure if I'm ready to take to your level yet, but we have been looking at a lot of the camp sites you guys have been sharing. Awesome videos, we liked the videos, subscribed.👍
You wouldn't believe the gear I stow in my Riot 12 Enduro whilst out on the Firth of Clyde for three weeks! MSR 2 man tent, sleeping bag and inflatable pillow, Kombuis, one metal spoon and matches, Palm dry suit and one set of thermals, life jacket, VHF hand held, HH jacket, fleece and trousers, Gill deck boots, short Wellington's, neoprene mitts and gloves, two sets of paddles, Karrimor sweater, trousers two pairs of socks with one set of thermals, first aid kit, Moko water filter, small AM/FM radio, 40x62 monocular, divers knife and camp knife, fire steel, sunglasses, helmet, comforter, sun lotion, vaseline, travel towel and personal hygiene items and one small telescopic umbrella to help me cook in the rain, of which we have 300 days a year of here on the West coast of Scotland! Food: 1.5 kg pasta, 0.75 kg sugar, 0.5 kg coffee, salt/pepper, 200g tomato puree, dried onions, 0.5 kg milk powder, 1kg porridge, 0.75 kg dried fruit, 3kg jerky, chilli sauce, 62 protein bars, 50 chocolate biscuits. I will resupply from local stores when necessary. Money, bank card and NO phone! Everything in dry bags and one 5 litre & one 2 litre water bottle. Honestly, I don't know where I put everything!
I forgot the sleeping mat! To help me with the swell of the ocean and be able to sleep better, I use silicone ear plugs which equalise my ears. Everyone has those sleepless nights owing to unseen gradients.
Late to the party on this video. Great candid videos. It makes me feel like I’m camping too. but the brew master did a great job proving his passion. I’m sure it really was a one of a kind beer. I would drink one for sure.
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
Fun video thanks. Listen, it is important that when you sleep that your head is UPHILL. If not you won’t be able to sleep. Head aches, puffy eyes etc. Head higher that feet.
Thank you for watching! So true about your comment. (This is Cody by the way) I spent a about 15mins trying to level out the ground. Thought I had it leveled the night before. Miss the mark. Out of all the area I thought that was the flattest spot, ant that I could make it work.
Its been to long since our vacations to Lake Ouachita. The water was so clear and clean on our first trip in 1965. Loved trying up to a different island each night on our 5 day stay on our rented houseboat in 2000. We just subscribed and am looking forward to seeing more !!
I used to watch Trip Smith because he did this type of video but then he started shifting to power boats so I came here looking for paddling trips. Love your channel and can't wait to see where it goes from here. :)
Been in a paddle club for over 20 yrs. I am now having to watch my 92 yr. old mom and can not get away as I would like. I still day trips. I can relate to yall. and would like to go. Just ordered a new tent (as if I need another) sucker for deal.
We found you guys a week or so ago and are really enjoying your channel. Thanks for sharing on the camping fans. We just received our two new tents fans you used and are really looking forward to using them next week up in Thurmont area of Maryland. Great suggestion. Look forward to more videos. Thank you for producing them.

Hello Dome People! I’m new to your list of subscribers, and I’m enjoying watching your video. You’re doing many things well so thank you and keep it up. I have a request if you would consider it......I’d like to know more about the areas you are at, some historical facts, how the area developed into what it is today! I like history, knowing a little more about the area may be just enough for me to want to visit. So thank you, I enjoy the spontaneous reactions, the comments, the teasing!
Thanks for watching and subscribing! Yes we will do more historical facts. Cody tries to pull somethings together. We will do better in the future. Thanks for the input.
Are you guys from southern KY. My sister ( from different mother) has the same exact accent as she does. This is my first video I have seen of yours so sorry if this has been asked before. Great content, I'ma check out some more!
So glad I found your channel. Really enjoy watching, love the reviews and info. Have been planning on making to the Crater of diamonds for years but you guys have me totally sold on this lake for camping and kayaking. DM me if you make it to Colorado again a meet up would be awesome.
Not sure if anyone else has suggested this yet but if I have to set up on an incline I set up so my head is uphill and feet are pointing downhill and that usually helps
I just watched your video and I really like your channel...great job and I did subscribe. Looking forward to your next adventure I just bought a kayak and I plan on doing something very similar to what you did and putting it on my channel as well...great job you two...
What island numbers do you prefer and why? We will be camping at Ouachita soon but have never been. Advise on the best place to launch and some of the best islands and where would be much appreciated.
We don’t know the island numbers, but we prefer putting in around the Buckville Use area. It is less visited the the south and east end of the lake, and we always choose islands where we are exposed the the winds blowing across the lake.
I know there were questions about the Coleman Camping Stove and whether they were still being made. Target has them and they can be ordered on line. I received mine today.
Great video guys. I’ve only put in at 3 sisters rec area to go kayak fishing. I’ve thought about putting in at the Brady Mtn Rec area and paddling to some islands out that way.
@@CodyandKellie I know in another video you say you left your car there for a few days. Is it free? I am hoping to island camp next weekend, but dont know where I can leave my car near buckville use are! Thanks!
Hey good folks, sure enjoy your video's and good cheer. I need a suggestion. You mentioned one side of the lake was better for Kayaking because there were less motor boats. I didn't catch which side or where you would recommend parking. I'm planning a trip in the early spring and would apricate your suggestion. Thanks for what you do !
I've got the exact same inflatable pillow, I like it it seems to work. But I would dig that memory foam one, I've been trying with getting one. I like that lamp/light combo. I have a Coleman one but it doesn't fold flat like that one, I need it. Also that green inflatable armature is cool but have you tried a Klymit one? No integrated pillow bit it's awesome, compresses to just over the size of a pop can and inflates in about 12-15 breaths. They have various sizes including a two person and they have insulated ones as well.
I just recently found yalls channel and I'm so jealous, my wife loves the out doors but not having to go In the outdoors if u know what I mean lol ,so my trips are at camp grounds , I love the channel been trying to play catch up on ur channel keep living the dream guys !
I love it here in Arkansaw as well been here all my life , have yall ever been to Petit Jean Mountain in the fall when the leaf's change beautiful, and after a day after a good rain all the little water falls come to life !!
Want to be really excited? Climb a really tall tree in a windstorm. That will do it. Drink a few of those homebrews and you may not make it back down.🤣🤣
I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago, I love it. I've been watching all your videos, very good quality. I live in Kansas City and go to Beaver lake a couple of times a year to dive and kayak. You've given some new places to check out in Ar. Thanks
Can you please clarify what kayak you're using? I looked at the link but I'm not sure which one is the updated version. Also is it a sit on top? Thank you.
Our kayaks are pescador perception sit on tops. They are about 5 years old. They have changed that model. Closest we can find is the Jackson sit on top around $800 😬
Great Vlog and congrats on reaching your first 5,000 subscribers. YOU WILL HAVE MANY MORE!!!! Promoting your channel to all my outdoor and adventure friends in Alabama!!!! War Eagle and Roll Tide :)
I was looking for the recipe for the spaghetti type dish you make with the tomato purée, was wondering if you could share that recipe with me pls? It looks so delicious on camera thought I’d take a leap of faith and cook it myself 😂. Hope y’all are staying safe and keep up the good content! 🙂
3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for drizzling 8 garlic cloves, smashed and peeled 1 teaspoon chili flakes 2 cups San Marzano tomato puree Kosher salt 1 pound bucatini 1/4 cup finely chopped basil 1/4 cup finely chopped mint 1/4 cup finely chopped flat-leaf parsley 1 tablespoon unsalted butter 3 tablespoons finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper Scant 3 tablespoons finely grated Pecorino Romano, plus more if desired In a very large skillet (or a Dutch oven), warm the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant and golden, about 3 minutes. Add the chili flakes and cook for 30 seconds more. Add the tomato puree, season with salt to taste, and cook until the oil separates, the tomato solids start to fry, and the sauce has thickened, 10 to 12 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons water to the pan. Remove from the heat. 2. In a large pot of well-salted boiling water, cook the pasta according to the package instructions until 2 minutes shy of al dente; drain. 3. Toss the bucatini into the skillet with the tomato sauce, herbs, and butter. Cook over medium heat until the pasta is just al dente, 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in the Parmigiano-Reggiano and pepper, adding more water if the sauce seems dry. 4. Divide the pasta among individual serving plates or bowls and finish each with 2 teaspoons or more Pecorino Romano and a drizzle of olive oil.
DOME LIFE thank you so much! Today was my birthday and this was the perfect present 😋 now it’s time to get in the kitchen and get to cooking. Thank you again!
But y’all I am super high maintenance with pillows because I’m a side sleeper - so, roughing it for me is only using three pillows (rather than seven)...😂😂😂😂 And now you are over 6k subscribers - that’s gotta feel great!
You two after our own heart, being outdoors and finding new breweries. Question; a while back you had to replace your French press, is the replacement working out and if so can I get a link? Thank you, Steven & Melinda Arndt, Fairfield Iowa.
I have been watching y'all for a long time, and I love your videos! I loved it all except for the beer, tried it as a teen [it was the only thing in the late 50's] I absoutely hate the taste of it. Lol Would rather drink pee! Blessings
