Kayak fishing with lures at night for bass -
In this video I decided to try a spot of night fishing from the kayak using lures to target bass.
My main intentions for this video was to test the capabilities of the GoPros whilst filming at night on reduced frame rates and on a minimal light setting.
I was using 5” megabass spindle worms for this session rigged on a 5/0 8g weedless hook.soft
I have to admit it did feel a little bit odd being out on the water at night whilst fishing from a kayak but thoroughly enjoyable and something I’d like to do a lot more of in future.

Really glad you are loving the videos matey it makes it all the more worth it when it’s a little bit of a challenge. il be doing more of these night time sessions for sure. I think my friend is keen to pop out with me so with a buddy I’d feel a little bit more confident to head out a bit further for longer in more fish rich waters! Used to do a lot at night off my boat. Have tried a few times off the kayak last couple of years. Even when you're on ground you know well and it's calm it's pretty freaky being out in the yak at night. I keep trying cos I figure it should be good fun, but then once I've been out an hour I decide it's giving me the willies and I come back in.

Nice video👍 I went out first time at night at the Manacles a couple of weeks ago. Very eerie🤪 only a cuttlefish during dark but at dawn it came alive the mackerel were everywhere. Live Joey got a nice bass and Pollock. Going out at 4am to catch that dawn rush hopefully. Great videos👍

Enjoyed this video mate but rather you than me, I have practically the same set up as you but wouldn't go out at night... I would be worried about sharks. Be cool to see the fish finder on at night.

Thanks for checking it out matey! oh yes I think I’d feel a little different in shark infested waters that’s for sure. my main concern at night would be shallow reefs to drift into and seals. I’m pretty sure the big splashes I could hear were that of a seal feeding in the area. it made the fishing go a little quiet also!

@@FISHISLANDTV It would be bloody insane to do it in shark infested waters lol. Just be careful if you fall off and get separated from your yak, maybe attach a throw line to your pfd or something, I'm sure you already have a sharp knife to cut ropes if you get tangled. If your kayak flips over you will be in complete darkness if your head torch isn't water proof. Stay safe mate.

Hi Chris thanks for the feedback! I’m using a Viking Profish reload. it’s 15ft and quite a beast but Viking kayaks also make other models which are great too!

Well done Sam. Took a bit of time setting all the red lights etc and I personally think the footage has come out bang on for night time recording mate. Any noise right by the kayak in the dark is jumpy material😂. Did you take your own light for squid or close in by harbour lights.

Thanks for checking it out buddy. I think I will try a shorter rear camera boom next time and a bit more footage from the front perhaps. I noticed when editing that the front camera come out much clearer without any glare from the rear red light whilst using a black and white filter. 🎣
