I needed a place to store my kayaks while not in use. Beside the garage door rails seemed like a good place that was out of the way. I bought the Rad Sportz kit from Amazon as well as some ratchet straps for more security.
My kit didn't include any instructions, but luckily you can find them online here: www.dtxinternational.com/image...

Thanks for the video! Hey quick question. Do you need the two extra pieces of 2x4 or could you just mount it directly into the studs? Thanks!

I don’t see why you couldn’t mount directly. I think I did that just to make it easier to mount to since I have Sheetrock ceilings. Thanks for watching!

U wouldn’t need the ratchet straps if u had the pulleys mounted closer to the wall right ? I might try it for my kyak

I have another one mounted closer to the wall and use straps on it too. It’s mainly to take the stress off the rope. It doesn’t feel very strong so using the straps for backup. With a more durable rope it would probably be fine. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video. Good job. FYI: Your fasteners are lag screws, not lag bolts. A "bolt" always requires a matching threaded "nut" to hold fast an object.
