Turning Utility trailer into a Kayak Trailer. I still need to be able to move sheet goods and this setup will be able to do that. With a setup time of 4:38:77. This is a very fast, easy and cheap way to move your Kayaks to the river.

Thanks for sharing. In the army, we used panchos to keep us and our weapons dry. They also served as ground sheets and bevies at night. You could cover your upright kayak in storage, and then use it to cover yourself in the rain

Should use an eye bolt so you can use it for tie down

I like seeing new way to solve problems. I will probably build a tray that fits on the floor of my little trailer. I have a couple of suggestions. I think you should have used a little larger bit for your tap drill. It shouldn't take a huge amount of torque to tap the hole. Secondly, be careful with your anchor rings. The load rating is for a straight pull. When you apply the load to the the side of the ring, the rating is greatly reduced (on eyebolts, it drops to 25% of the straight load rating). It should be okay, but check them regularly.

I just picked up a couple of kayaks and your idea has me going with a small trailer I have. Thank you. I will tow this to the lake behind the Camry instead of the truck which gets 12 mpg.

Actually I found it much easier to just put the kayaks on the trailer itself. No I don’t use the setup anymore.

how much wieght do you thing that will hold? I have 2, 85 lb kayaks 12 feet. I will drop the gate

I would think it would be fine. If not you could do a I-Beam type with a few 2x4's that will sure be enough.

Mike Fulton Thanks for sharing this video I may use something stronger like 4by4’s to support the weight better and larger i hooks to make sure they definitely wouldn’t move.
