Would the Nomad kayak be suitable for a beginner (kayaked only 4 times) I am thinking about buying a sit-on kayak and have a few possibilities on my list. I thought the Nomad was going to be 'the one' but one RU-vidr suggested it was pretty unstable, which has worried me. Seeing these kayaks in quite rough sea shows they can cope OK, but as a beginner, I would be using it on calm water at least for the first few trips.
Brian Morrison when this film was made, I too was a beginner and the Nomad was my first kayak. I still have it now and it’s great. Very stable and works well.
I started kayaking last year and was told to look at the Wave sport scooter. It's been around for bit. I have used it on flat water, canal, Lake, rivers plus I have used it for sea trips and surfing the waves. I have found it very stable in all areas. Might mention here at I started kayaking as stated last year and I am 68. My advice would have good look at any reviews and a good look in the shop at any you like as well as sitting in them.
