I was very anxious about kayaking on Georgian Bay alone. I was headed out on a solo camping trip, just a woman camping alone, but I'd been wanting to go all summer and today the conditions were perfect to head out and conquer my fears. I headed out from Killbear Provinical Park across Georgian Bay, using all the skills I've learned over the last few years in my kayaking courses. It was quite the adventure and I was given many rewards along the way! Hope you enjoy it!

What a treat to wake up to Christina, Georgian Bay is incredible beautiful and you captured it so well. Great tip on the camping chair I know one day I will use. Congrats on conquering your fears, you made it look so easy!

I'm heading out soon from Britt to an island in Georgian bay, been watching a bunch of videos and have after seeing how rough the bay can be I have decided that I'm only bringing what can fit in a dry bag lol, can't wait to get out there.

CrazyCunner are you going solo or with someone? I don’t go into the bay unless the weather is good and the forecast is good for the wind. Always check before you leave and continue checking when you’re out there and make sure you’re safe. The bay can be very very evil. Please be safe.

I'm jealous living in the barren desert of Az. We have a lake but it's not like that. Beautiful area and great video. It reminds me of the day my Dad took the training wheels off my bike. Lots of worry for nothing. Lol....

Georgian bay can be a very scary place. One minute it’s calm, the next, crashing waves from all directions. Google map my location if you haven’t yet. Mactier ontario. I’m surrounded by water here which is why I moved here 5 years ago. I will be jealous of your desert In about 6 months. Lol. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. I am so glad you enjoyed your trip, Christina. Thank you for posting this. Earlier in my youth I kayaked Georgian Bay islands many, many times. My favourite access was at the end of Hwy 529A, north of Pointe au Baril. You can paddle up the narrow channels through many beautiful island, and eventually out to the shoal islands. My habit was to camp on the last treed island (with white pines!) and then just make excursions from there. It is spectacular to see the waves shooting up from the shoals in rough weather while you remain sheltered in the channels. Hope you go again and post the trip.

Thanks, I am, well, I did sell my house and put all my stuff in storage and leave all my friends and family to move here. LOL. Didn't quite win the lotto or anything like that. If you want to do it, you can do it too! No luck involved. hahaha :) Hope you love it as much as I do! :)

Beautiful spot,Great vid! I think the best trips are when ya challenge yourself. I know sometimes I do the same and go for the easier trip but it sure feels great when ya step out of your comfort zone.

What a great trip! I'm in upstate NY and we've had the same type of weather. Warm-ish (64f) and rainy here today...a month after you posted this! I may actually camp in the backyard tonight just because :)

Nice vlog @CamperChristina. Really great location you have up there to explore. Hope you had a good foam pad, that big ol rock looks awfully hard. Nice to get out solo and be adventurous, you had great wxr. We get out into the Chesapeake Bay most weekends, but not many places to easily camp.

At my age, I've seen my share of sunrises and sunsets, you never get tired of them. By the way, I use peanut butter cups in place of chocolate in my s'more...............it's not bad. Thanks for sharing your adventure. May the wind be at your back.

I know this one is older but I just watched it. That is more water than I could handle at my level of skill! I wonder, how well do you sleep when you are camping alone? Is it fitful or do you wake up rested?

They are all there for you to enjoy no matter the age.😊 I hope you liked the video. I have been in waves much much bigger so not to fear. It takes me a while to get into a groove like anything when you’re sleeping in a strange place but when I’m active the entire day, especially on my bigger trips, I’m getting a pretty good nights sleep. But it does take a while to get acclimated. Thanks for watching. Cheers!

Beautiful Christina. I kayaked from same spot, but only got past Davy Island as too rough & I was too scared to go further (maybe because I also don’t have sea kayak haha). Nice to see what it looks like out there. Question are the islands Crown Land or Ontario Parks you went to? Thanks for the video - by the way ...why do people do that - they see you getting firewood, then decide to set up 100 metres away & there is a zillion islands around?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah it’s kind of best to be out there in a sea kayak. Also I have quite a bit of training. I don’t recommend anyone go out there unless you’ve been properly trained. I don’t know what your situation is, just saying in general. I am extremely careful of when I go out there. As far as why people do that, your guess is as good as mine. I have stop trying to make sense out of what some people do. Just no point. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Cheers!

Sorry it’s crown land, but not all of it. There are lots of private islands out there too. You have to get a good topo map for a trip out here and know how to read it. It’s part of what makes it special to get to. 😊

I love conquering fears, and I love doing stuff by myself. I’m not pretending to enjoy it at all. I’ve been soloing for about 7 years now. I def wouldn’t do something that much, that I didn’t enjoy. Have a great day. Cheers !
