Eric and Morgan, you are doing a great job.I have been following you two religously, and always just wait for your next video.Love you guys,be safe out there.
I got one thumbs up so far, so someone else thinks it's a good idea, it's all about diversifying, I enjoyed one of his videos where Eric sang and showed different plants in the area. You negative critics can go elsewhere with your boring lives.
On the same day you uploaded this, Jan 6, I drove to the Post Office in the snow in Dallas - just a light dusting, but as I write it's 19 degrees. But then it's Texas. In 3-4 days it will be 70 again. Loved the hermit crab. That was cool to see it dragging his shell back to the water. And the water is so clean ;-) Glad you're enjoying our great state!
Awesome video. Your videos and your editing get better with each video you make. So much work goes into them. We see that and appreciate all your hard work. Looked like a cool area. Sorry Morgan got bit/stung by the ants. They are brutal.
Good Morning, Morgan and Eric: Happy to see you made it to sunny Texas Coast. North of you its wintery and stormy---just stay put down there for a while. Again, nice drone shots of Indian Point Park Pier.
Dude! I grew up in Corpus and you have done a fantastic video! Kudos to you and your kitty. I live 45 miles north east if it now. Worked there for 25 years. Well done!
Great video. Loved Jax and Ziggy together under Morgan's chair, the hermit crab made my day. Born and raised in California until I became aTexan in 1994......found many crab shells but never saw one walk across the wet sand like that. Also awesome, since I am a bird lover, the Great Blue Herron and White Egret were a special treat. Have fun at the gathering at San Padre Island.....
Nice footage on Jax Thanks What with those sweet sounding bikes and the fashion statement flip flops with socks this was a good video Thanks safe travels
That is good to see you guys having a good time without worrying about the motorhome breaking down anymore. I think that getting that newer rig was the best thing you ever did! Happy trails too you guys!
Eric, my man...perfect vid! Clean, clear, coastline, fresh, endlessly fascinating & include all my favorite people--Jax-Man, Ziggy S'dust, U! & a cameo appearance of mysterious Morgan-gal. You go girl! Keep us guessing.
pavofan59 agreed! We lived on a boat for years and always had a vest on, my husband is an extremely strong swimmer, but always said if you fall off the boat and hit your head, then being a strong swimmer will do nothing for you. Be safe Eric, we love your videos and dont want to see them end tragically, plus you may have little ones watching you and we all need to set a good example when playing near water. Thanks for all the great videos!
Nice video Eric, It seems you've stepped up your video quality. Good clear shots of places I'd like to visit. I wonder if the crab named his travel home anything besides "mine". Cheers and Beers.
Welcome to Texas weather, Eric. Definitely not 82 degrees today. I imagine with the breeze coming off the water, you got 'Lil Buddy cranked up to maximum velocity. lol.
Fire Ants do suck. The bytes blister so you have little popped pimples of sorts. Basically wear socks and shoes. And sweat pants, even when it's 110F. Although pants mostly because we have a lot of spiders. Along with grasshoppers and crickets. Basically you can't walk on unpaved surfaces without picking up a few insectoid friends around here.
It was cool running into you guys at Labonte Park. Definitely the highlight of my trip! I had to leave the beach to take care of a contract in San Antonio but I'll try and make it back out there Sunday.
he googles stuff, he does not drive around for hours to find a place to park and then wonder if he will get kicked out. they also have apps that list places you can camp, etc...
I wish that I could "like" this more than once. What a great video...a nice respite from Ohio dreariness. :D It looks like Morgan likes her Christmas chair
Hey Eric, another great video. Looking forward in receiving my stickers .. Have you thought about doing an hour documentary over dubbing your voice and showing us your highlights of your travels over time ?
Another great video! The drone shots really give a nice perspective of where you are and I notice at least one tracking shot of the kayak so Morgan is doing a little shooting? Or your traveling companion? Ziggy and Jax certainly get along well. Looking forward to the meet up videos!
hey guys it's good to see you still are together but it would be better that you are doing more things together in the video's that you are producing. anyways hope you are having fun
Yep, Fire Ants, They have them all over the south. I stepped on a mound while wearing shoes with ankle socks mowing an electric fence line on a riding Lawn mower. Stepped off to fix a broken wire strand, and did not notice I had stepped on the mound until after they started stinging me. Ended up with about 30-40 stings all around my ankle. Very Painful, a week later my Ankle still looked like it was covered with zits from all the stings.
You should really go to Big Bend national park after the Camperfest festival. It's very nice and since you're more of an outdoors person, I'm sure you would love it.
Nice vid mate. Hope Morgan's stings are better. I hear those fire ant stings are quite painful! Some people are allergic and can react badly as well. Take care.
EmeraldCity They are in fire ant territory until they get a little more west. Both Morgan and Eric are from way north and are not used to walking along the Gulf Coast looking for new mounds.
Fire ants are bad. when I lived in Pensacola Fla. I bought two pallets of St. Augustine sod which turned hot. I got them for a great deal. Anyway, my brother and I started putting it down and the deeper we got into the pallet of sod, the hotter each piece was. Well much to my chagrin, it was loaded with fire ants. we found out the hard way. We had bites all over our forearms. Lemon juice and beer took care of the stinging. We sprinkled grits on the freshly laid sod and that killed the little bastards.
Will this cold front that is gripping the north and the prairie states affect Padre Island? Lots of difference between the temperatures of Kansas and South Texas! I always enjoy your videos. You have a talent as a story teller and a photographer.
FYI Those fire ants are affectionately called Piss Ants by East Texans because they bite the piss out of ya. lol Hope those bites are feeling better soon.
Tell Morgan to keep ammonia on hand. As soon as you can after the fire ant bites wipe with the ammonia. For me, this stops the pain and itching and swelling. Next day I don't even know it happened. I just use my regular household ammonia that I have on hand.
Could not help but see your location. I am thinking of buying a travel trailer to be near family in Kennebunk Maine bit am concerned about what winters may be like there in an RV. Just how difficult is it? Does the weather cause any leakage issues for you?
loppy4100 not at all our outside temp in Auburn right now is 18 degrees feels 4 degrees with the windchill inside our rv currently 45 with just a dinky space heater no leaks ! we use heat tape on our water pipes and insulated and skirted the underside ! we bought our 2015 Coleman 16fbs ! just cleaned the roof off yesterday 2.5 ft of snow on it ! if you buy a travel trailer Camping World is the way to go ! lets stay in touch loppy4100
Its pretty impressive you have been in the south, esp Florida and not encountered the fire ants. Now that you know what to look for inspect eveywhere you camp cause yes they hurt you, but they are nasty to pets.
Fire ants have a stinger in their abdomen (butt) like a wasp and are venomous. What makes them so vicious is they delay the stinging to do it as a group through a communication network until tens or hundreds are on the victim. This is how they take down much larger species. If that weren't bad enough the venom is particularly nasty. I've had as many as 50 sting me at a time and believe me, it is not pleasant. The pain will subside after a few minutes, but then the itching starts and that can cause an infection. Benedryl lotion is great for this. My sympathies to Morgan.
