Filmed on what is said to be the largest creek in America, Pine Creek, this section is about 10 miles on what they call the Upper Pine. This was a rare trip made in late July 2021 because the season on the Pine only lasts March to early June typically. After early June the trees suck up all the water and the levels and pressure drop to tubing levels. However it was a wet year and if there is enough rain, sometimes it is possible to go during summer. Conditions on this day were perfect, average depth 3 feet with about 1000-1500 cubic feet per second of water. This trip takes almost two hours so I cut the footage down to 45 second to 1.5 minute bites of footage all edited together. I will be doing more videos in the future oriented at the casual recreational kayaker who wants to do lakes and easy level creeks. Stay tuned and subscribe.

I enjoyed your video very much and gave it a thumbs up. You probably saw an immature bald eagle. Mature females and males only look different in size (female larger). Also, I have the same paddle and am wondering why you use it upside down? Is there some advantage to that? (at least it looked like the writing was upside down).

Glad you enjoyed the video with a thumbs up, I appreciate it. I'm a total amateur hour recreational kayaker that does easy creeks and lakes so if I am using my paddle wrong, no surprise. I just put a review out on my new Old Town 12 XT on the channel and will do a few more kayaking videos this year.

This trip is Watrous to Pine Creek Outfitters but there are many variations including going from Galeton and also going through the Grand Canyon of PA. The season there lasts from March to late May and occasionally if there is enough water from rain, hit and miss for a few days here or there in summer. This trip I did in July 2021 which was rare to have so much water at that time of year.

@@GPMAX01 Yes, if they keep getting regular rain then chances are good it may be doable at times this summer.

@@wanneroo7106 do you recommend setting this up with Pine Creek to bring my SUV down to the take out spot? How far down stream was that camping spot you liked? I am going to do this. How does the Pa Grand Canyon area wind into this trip? I guess I need to see a good map. I’d like to stick to class 1 and 2 rapids. No more

@@GPMAX01 What I do for this particular trip is leave my car at Pine Creek Outfitters and then have them shuttle me up to Watrous in their van and drop me off with my gear and then I float back down to the Outfitters 10 miles downstream. You should find them helpful and they can assist in setting up different things such as transport and their website has info such as the water levels and flow on the creek. I like the class 1 and 2 rapids, that is fine for me and I find on this creek the sweet spot is 2.5 to 3.5 feet and about 1000-1500 cubic feet per second of water flow. Once it gets higher than that or the water is brown and I can't see the bottom most of the way, not for me. The season realistically lasts from March to June 1. You can also depart Pine Creek Outfitters and go through the Grand Canyon, which is a longer trip, 4-5 hours to Blackwell. I think there are some limited camping options along the creek, such as Tiadaghton. The Outfitters is located on the Upper Pine Creek, just outside the entrance of the Grand Canyon.
