Been a direct-lunger for the longest time. For the last few months, I've been almost exclusively mouth-to-lung vaping. I totally need a Kayfun in my life. This one looks perfect for me; a great balance of ease of use, quality, performance and a nice price tag to boot (I'm not usually a high-end vaper). Great review, as always. I'm seriously considering buying one. Shafe.
Been loving mine since it arrived. Love it to bits already. It is absolutely massive but willing to put up with that until a short kit or bell kit comes out. Top review - agree with everything completely. :)
the kayfun isn't exactly my type of vape but I always wanted to get one cuz of how well made they are and everything, I'm Gonna have to pick one of these up. great review as always Damian
I have put a build in the deck and wicked it. It is better than the V4 in many ways as it has been refined some areas and made it easier to obtain the expected results. It is easier to build than the V4 and has the ability of building thicker complicated single coils. More forgiving than the V4. The juice control is very subtle and the airflow options are very good. I found that in order to change the levels of airflow, the juice control has to be loosened to allow the ring to slide down to go on to the next levels of air flow adjustment. The 510 drip tip can be swapped out. The only bit of the V5 I did not like against the V4 is the shape of the mid-section as it has lost its curvature making the V5 less appealing aesthetically. The performance of the V5 is better all way round. I rate the Russian 91% V2 better on flavor and airflow than the Kayfun V4. The V5 overtakes the Russian 91% and the Rose V2 for the traditional flavor chasing experience with a good mouth to lung hit. The V5 does not have the direct suction vacuum direct lung hit in the same way of its older brother V4 but the V5's performance is better nevertheless. Two Thumbs Up and now the V4 becomes a museum piece.

Definitely prefer 5 mls myself.. I vape at least that much through a day so I prefer to not to have to carry a bottle to refill in me (which is sometimes downright impossible). Thanks for the review.

This may just be the perfect Kayfun for me. I love my mini V3 and I don't mind my V4 but man, using something bigger than 28 gauge in a Kayfun alone is a huge improvement lol.
I really don't understand how can you MTL it in the widest airflow setting!! I'm having hard time to MTL it in the smallest setting!! It seems there 's a lot of ways on how everyone does MTL... kl+ is MTL for me, K5 not really. I am really looking forward for the airflow reducer, i hope they bring it soon enough!! So is the drip tip designed to actually get hot? As an anti heat resistant drip tip, is a bit of a contradiction. Bloody Londoners, lol, other than that, I might have to get myself my first Kayfun, I've never had the pleasure, I fancy a posh mouth to lung tank..
I'm sure I'm being massively ignorant here, but could anyone explain why this cost £100? Is the flavour stronger or something? I don't really know much about building your own coils. What benefits would this have over pre built tanks? 100 quid!? I was expecting this to be made out of gold. I've been vaping for some time now using Aspire products: Nautilus 5ml and Triton Mini for MTL vaping and Cleito and Atlantis Evo for Sub Ohm direct lung hits,These have been very satisfying and got me off the evil cigs.
You seem like the kind of a guy to know a thing or two about MTL. I love the idea of MTL, but I have never had a good vaping experience with MTL. Most of us loves MTL since that's where we came from, but vaping and doing MTL just sadly isn't great. I get a really muted flavor. Can barely taste it, and when I can't taste the flavor I typically will not vape. I have a Kayfun mini v3 and used 26g Kanthal A1, 2.5mm ID, and think about 8-9 wraps. It reads 1.1 ohm or so, and I think that's pretty good. 1.1 is what I'm aiming for, since it will get me around 15w even on an unregulated mod if it pushes 4.2v. 15W when MTL should be good, and I use a 50/50 PG/VG blend. I do know use to much cotton and I don't get dry hits as I would do when I first started to build on this tank. For some reason, I still get a really muted flavor. I'm not sure if it's my build or my juice since I do make my own juice, but from good recipes that has been posted on ELR. I can use the same juice on a RDA/RTA and get nice flavor, so I don't think that the juice is the problem, or maybe it still is but the flavor is not strong enough when you MTL or something. I don't know. I can hear bubbling sounds when I vape the Kayfun. Not gurgling, but bubbling. I read a bit about that, and they say that bubbling is normal when it's time to change your coil. I can put a fresh build in it, and it still bubbles. Is it normal, or do I use to much power or to little airflow? I like a really strict draw. Kind of a cigarette. I know many people simply just removes the pin, but that is just way to airy. Have you experienced the same thing? I jut want to enjoy MTL, especially since the summer is coming. I really don't like chugging tits when I'm out in public. I much rather MTL.
+Sean RobinsonJR On the KFv3 mini - I use a 4 or 5 wrap Clapton coil - dry burn it, and then quench it a few times (dry burn and then run under water) - this gets rid of any nasty oils from the clapton wire (it gets trapped inside the wrappings) Cotton it less is more (but not loose) Open 2 turns and it produces a great mouth to lung hit When vaping MTL - do a few chuggs (into the mouth then blow out and repeat) just to get the coil and wick working well - this should be giving you great flavour in your mouth - then take a slight draw into the mouth - remove the device and inhale MTL should always give you better flavour because you are using your palette - with Direct Lung inhales you are basically by-passing your palette on the inhale - but of course you get tons more vapour :) I hope this helps

I can use the same juice on a RDA/RTA and get nice flavor" assuming u mean D2L when u say RDA (cuz a kayfun is also an RTA so you're confusing me) you have your answer right there, most popular recipes on ELR are D2L stuff, ive discovered this by trying DIY OR DIE highly praised recipes (forgot his name on ELR) and couldnt figure out why they just didnt taste good (or rather were as you said very muted) then i tried to D2L them out of curiousity and it was delicious. point here is i'd say 90% of recipes taste different as M2L or D2L some are heaven as M2L but hell as D2L and vice versa, nothing to do with your builds. if you like pineapples i recommand trying this one e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/94129/Moms+Pineapple+cake+clone its one of the 10% of recipes that is both as D2L and M2L (altho i like it a bit better as D2L cuz the cake portion comes out a bit more) but give this at least a week to steep (aint gonna get no cake out of it otherwise) but preferably 2 weeks and test it you'll have your final answer if the bubbling is paired is air flow cutting on and off (feel it with your tongue) in witch case you have liquid obstructing the airflow a bit and is moving around when ur sucking
+Simon Wilson honestly if you have to do all of this to get a good vape out of a v3 i'd return it as defective, the fact that its top fill put enough pressure to make your "few chug" aka primer puff completly useless, the pressure should be rushing liquid to the coil at this point and also you should google vapers tongue just to learn that its not your tongue nor your palette that tastes flavours in juices
Hey Sean I thought I would post some of my experiences with MTL that may be of some help to you so here goes... 1- 8/9 wrap 26g sounds like a lot of mass for only 15w. Plus you have to account for voltage drop of your mech and so on so you're probably getting lower watts. I would suggest trying out a 7 wrap 27 or 28g at around 16 to 20 watts with the v3 mini. Also try closing the airflow half way. It will make a huge difference regarding flavor and quality of vape. 2- Something that is virtually never spoken about is that some juices just don't taste good in MTL. I have some theories about what might be causing this but in short I find that any juices with creams/custards and such heavy creamy flavors need a lot of watts and so much airflow to give you that nice mouthfeel and flavor they're designed for. I wouls suggest you stick to simple fruity/tobacco recipes for MTL. You may quickly change your mind about how flavorful your kayfun is. If you mix your own juice I say stick to flavourart for MTL (just a vague rule for me with many exceptions ofcourse). Let us know if you end up changing your MTL vaping experience!
DrBen i literally spoke about your point number 2 but anyway your theory is wrong, i test flavour on the same RDA which is really set for m2l with no adjustable airflow but i test all my stuff both as m2l and d2l on it and even at the same temperature (300-330F) and tight airflow (obviously) they taste different, a better theory would be that certain flavour require higher % to be detected when m2l them, sugar cookie from CAP is a good exemple 5% or lower and its unnoticeable as m2l go to 7% and its there 8% and its equal m2l and d2l. this theory also makes more sense because as you said (altho i disagree again) FA can taste better but only because its well known they're more potent/stronger flavours, but its really just that, bump the % on any other vendor and you'll eventually find a number where u get same taste as m2l and d2l dont even get me started on sticking with fruit and tobacco, im vaping banana ice cream atm no problem taste any ingrediants, i just took a recipe, liked it as d2l better, bumped up the % of the things i couldnt taste and here i am vaping it as m2l tasting just as it did d2l

DrDongs Well I live in the States and for a while now it's been all about Sub ohm tanks and blowing clouds. Most of the MTL tanks rarely get a mention. But sub ohm sucks juice whilst Kayfuns sip it.I think the FDA will severely restrict nicotine and I believe that people will try to purchase quality pieces of Juice efficient equipment once they see that the government is determined to steer them back towards patches, gum and lozenges. ...which we already know don't do the trick.
i dont get this tank iv owned one since August last year and iv literaly tried everything. had better flavor from a subtank mini. tried all gauges 22 up to 32 .ohms between 0.4 up to 1.8 ohms tried various devices .wicked it until my fingers bled. orderd straight from manufacturer aswel :(
I vape 12mg juice, so full lung hits would make me collapse and probably convulse lol so small drags into the mouth then into the lung like the drawer of a cigarette, I prefer a looser draw to do this so it doesn't feel like sucking a golf ball through a garden hose I also have a huge gob 😆
