Every adult around Harmony failed her horribly.

I’ve adopted this sweet child in my heart. Harmony, I’m so sorry this world let you down. Your story, the pictures of you, your sweet little smile has left an imprint on my heart. I promise to pay closer attention in this world if it means I might see or hear something that leads to a child who needs immediate help. Rest in peace, sweet Harmony.

I just don't think it should be allowed for people to not be present at the trial. He deserves to listen to every single moment.

I listened to the testimony twice after I read the negative comments aimed at Kayla’s mom. I thought I missed something but, I’m still confused. 1) people came at her because she referred to Harmony as “Adam’s daughter”. Well, the prosecutor asked, “Who is Adam Montgomery?”. Her response, “He is my daughter’s husband”. Then the prosecutor asked, “Who is Harmony Montgomery?” Her response, “She is Adam’s daughter”. Aren’t these the most clear and concise responses for the jury? Had she answered, “She is my step granddaughter”, the prosecutor has to follow up with some question so the jury understands how Harmony is her step granddaughter like, “How is Harmony your step granddaughter?” She’d then have to respond with “she is my daughter’s stepdaughter” which would probably lead to another question to answer how she is the daughter’s stepdaughter. What a roundabout confusing way to get to the same information. 2) It’s ridiculous to imply she somehow hated Harmony. She hardly knew Harmony. She briefly met her 1x. She didn’t witness any abuse and not report it. 3) I don’t understand how she was such a horrible grandmother. She immediately picked them up, took them in, and gave them money. 4) Her lack of intervention. Maybe she knew KM and AM were using drugs. Maybe she didn’t. But, even if she had reported some alleged abuse of the grandchildren. Ok, and the police do what? Write a report. Maybe she asks the court to intervene on what emergency? At that point, the grandchildren are safe in her home. She can’t prove abuse. She may have knowledge they lived in a car. Where is the emergency? And, can the court punish the parents retroactively? No. For what? Maybe she goes to CPS? Well, what is CPS going to do? Nothing. Where is the evidence of abuse? Why is it when a witness (who is a relative of the accused) testifies people have to try to find some conspiracy? Like, this lady who met HM 1x is somehow “leaving out information” because she loves helping people who abuses innocent children?! She helps the abusers out by cooperating with the investigation and then gives the police free access to her home? Or, she wasn’t sad enough while testifying? I guarantee had she shown emotion, people would come at for “fake tears” or “you didn’t cry then, why now?” Give me a break. What do we know about drug addicts? They are highly manipulative. Isn’t it reasonable to think they manipulated her too?

I cannot get my head around how anyone could harm a beautiful child. So heartbreaking.

This grandmother does not look as if she had any feelings towards Harmony's death.

Why isn’t the judge making Adam come to court?! He needs to sit and face what he did to his daughter! Shame on that judge! So lame!

How can a child lay dead in your hallway even in a ice chest for 2 weeks and you not know.

I don’t understand WHY he hasn’t been in court in my opinion humiliation is part of the process accountability

This case is HARD to watch... heart breaking.. that sweet baby girl..I cant help by cry adter hearing what he did to her, driving in a car through a blanket on her drove through a Burger King drive-thru and then put her in a duffel bag and threw her in the snow. That is absolutely worse than a horror movie

They need to make a Harmony Montgomery law stating that if any of the parents have a history of addiction or bad parenting, neither ever get custody until they have at least 5 years of rehabilitative good behavior and the means to support them.😢

Why did so many people know and never say anything? Every single one of them should be held accountable

What a story. That woman too, what kind of person stands by while a grown man beats a little child like that and stays with him after he kills her and totes the body around? Why didn’t they take her somewhere she’d be safe before and just leave her if they didn’t want her? The wife said the body was curled up, it must’ve been to fit in a cooler. It’s sick!

I'm Canadian so I don't think I can do it But maybe you guys can start a petition for harmony's law meaning someone who commits a violent crime or murder has to be present in the courtroom for all due process Including Sentencing And impact statements Even if they have to wheel them in a wheelchair

I don't understand how this grandmother isn't emotional. Whether she was her biological grandmother or not. She was a precious, innocent child. And her emotions are like she's testifying about a lost toy.

I believe if he has a public defender trying to defend him and it doesn't cost him a dime and my tax dollars are paying for his sorry ass to be defended he should HAVE TO BE MADE TO COME TO COURT!!! THIS LAW NEEDS TO BE CHANGED A PETITION SHOULD BE STARTED BY ALL TAXPAYERS!!!

I think the mother did a good job telling what she knew. Apparently she was not close to the couple and the kids until they had a chance to stay with her for those few weeks. Therefore, I understand that she had not had much of a relationship with them, so thus referred to Harmony then as Adam’s daughter. I see nothing wrong with that.

Emergency ex parte for immediate temporary guardianship. You can go online and file the paperwork. The sheriff comes to the residents and serves the papers to the parents. Happens quick and fast like in New Hampshire. Especially a city that has numerous family courts

It just seems extremely odd to me that she had no idea there was a body in that cooler. It just keeps nagging at me, that at some point they told her or she discovered something. I feel she’s lying. Is that the real reason they got kicked out?

Why the questions of her tools? Do they think he used them?

Everyone failed Harmony it’s a very sad story. So many times child protection services fail these kids. They should be fired including the judge who gave Harmony to Adam.

My mind cannot justify holding a civilized trial for these people.

They were dope fiends. That's why she didn't get involved more. Out of control addicts have estranged families for a reason: u can try and help them, do everything possible, when they're using, it has to be the person themselves who want help. We can criticize all we want. Imagine the fuckery of a person who marries a guy who already has a daughter, they have now 3 kids, they still are using, living in a car, it's just fucked up. Not every grandparent has a relationship with their drug addicted daughter to take care of their grandchildren and raise them. Especially if they haven't been doing that throughout.

I fought for 3 years to be a co parent with their mum. Finally 50/50 custody and loads of flexibility based on what my little best friends need/want ! Humans dont do this to kids ! The thing thats too scared or high to be in court had control anger issues and he used that little princess as much as possible to hurt harmonys mum ! This case haunts me. That poor girl, I probably have more feelings towards her than this ghoul.

............after the fact, so many people come forward and talk about this little girl being abused, WHY did they not speak out when she wa alive and maybe she still would be! The mother’s part of the testimony is fascinating. She seems very honest, trustworthy, and a decent human being very different than her daughter.

This case will not leave me. This sweet little girl never stood a chance. No one loved her enough to keep her safe - not family, not child services in MA or NH, not the police. At least there is no more pain. No more being smacked around. No more drug addict trauma and living in a car under a blanket so no one sees how much she is being beaten.

They were living in a car, with children, on the winter. I understand, it can be frustrated, the situation they found themselves in, but those kids were not the decision makers. There were more adults than children in this scenario scenario. And what about all these places they went, were all those people blind, uncaring, not tuned in, could not sense something was wrong? Our country is so sympathetic to the illegals entering, and I can't help but wonder, would the outcome be the same if they had not been on the streets?
