@@daizyflower272 chemistry reads are when they get two potential actors for the parts and they act a scene out in front of the director, producers, and writers to see if they have any believable chemistry for the parts they are playing and Freddy and Amita had none
kaz in the books is so mysterious (and i'd like to think that bcs we couldnt actually see his expressions and all) but on on-screen his fondness and admiration for inej is rlly transparent IM SOFT BYE

I know a lot of people didn’t like show kanej but I honestly loved it. Kanej is also a very unique ship and their relationship is based on their care, intense stares, yearning and longing, and inner monologues in the books. I think if they showed their relationship just like the books, non readers wouldn’t root for them and it’ll make them assume that kaz is toxic to inej. I’m honestly just so contented with show kanej, it makes me happy that non readers are also rooting for them Ps. Freddy and Amita did an astounding performance with kaz and inej
I think most people enjoyed it. There were few who thought it was moving too fast but from non readers pov nothing happened between them and it all seems normal so that's fine. If they had exactly kept it like Book where we didn't even get to see kaz's inner thoughts it would translate very wrong on screen
This!!!! I’ve see so many people complain(which understandable) but my friends who are non readers think that none of them confessed anything but they doo feel the tension and the love and care they have for each other
The fact that a lot of people dislike kanej is such a shock to me since I just finished six of crows and am moving on to crooked kingdom just for kaz and inej :)))

YESSSS and not that you can portray this but I loved how he told her not to slip away and she said that’s what she does best, he tightened his grip on her like he needed her closer and needed to ensure she was still with him. But honestly I need that entire scene it’s so amazing and then he goes into a nice rage and then it takes him three days to talk to her after she gets better bc he doesn’t know what to say ❤️

No kisses or any physical contact for these two. Kaz has an aversion to physical touch because of serious trauma. And Inej was literally sold and forced to become a sex worker. The absence of physical intimacy is what makes their bond so special.
@@nazl3161 SPOILERS FOR SoC No, they never kiss in the books. He kinda brushes his lips against her neck once but that's it. They only hold hands at the very end of CK. As for his trauma, basically he had a brother when he was younger, then came some kind of plague and both Kaz and his brother got it. His brother (Jordie) died from it but Kaz didn't, however, some people thought they both died so they were dumped into some kind of pond (I can't remember really) with a lot of other bodies. And Kaz basically had to use his brother's dead body as a floaty to get to the shore. He was touching his dead brother's skin for a looong time, so now everytime he makes skin to skin contact with someone, it brings him back those memories and he gets sick and faints even.
But in the end they do hold hands which is a biiiggg thing for kaz. I really found the last scene really satisfying considering their backstory and it keeps room open for our imagination that in the future maybe, maybe Kaz opens up more.
@@ananyachatterjee2323 I think it's really satisfying that last sene and it also gives justice to their whole journey and to a really important thought Inej has (which I love) a few pages before, if I remember corretly, where she says something like "I would fight for him, but I won't waste my life trying to save him". I think it speaks volume to that. She knows that the saving bit can happen only if he really wants it, if he's willing to be open and vulnerbale. At the end, we see him doing that, emotionally and phisically. Of course it's just a tiny bit, but the trauma is huge and requires massive work on both parts. But he's willing to do it now and she recognizes it. In my mind she sails with her ship, saves many girls, kills many bastards and every few months is back on the roofs of Ketterdam, silently climbing on his window when he's not looking (but of course finds the window' always open because he already knows she's coming).

One you killed me within 10 second with the “my darling Inej, treasure of my heart” when he was asking for a new hat bc he can say those things to her AS A JOKE but can’t admit to himself that he feels that way… also when he’s drowning and his thoughts are only about her and one of them is “he needs to thank her for his new hat” bc he was THINKING OF THAT INTERACTION. That entire chapter got me but that line was the nail on the coffin I’m just not okay
You can actually see what Kaz feels everytime he looks at Inej... Freddy Carter is one hell of an actor... Their relationship totally eclipses others in my opinion

Okay, but here’s the thing with her handing over the knives, I feel like that’s the biggest declaration of love she could possibly make. It doesn’t come across in the show very well but they’re so fucking important to her. Giving Kaz her knives is like. A fucking huge thing.

These two made me feel things I haven't felt about a ship for a very long time. the love and trust they have for each other is something I could write a whole essay about hahah. With everything they've been through, there were so many moments where they could have been toxic but their relationship never felt like that to me. They respected each other's traumas and they were willing to let each other grow individually. God I just really loved them and how wholesome and unique their relationship is🥺

Yeah, a bit much, if Kaz can only actually say she is his I N V E S T M E N T, probably not, the best thing you’d get is probably “you’re more than a investment to me” or “I care about you” or something on the lines of that but in a way Kaz would say it
Same when I read the shadow and bone trilogy I shipped mal and Alina due to the fact that I hate toxic relationships and how they are portrayed in Media but when I read the soc duology I just fell in love with Kanej and how perfect they are. I’m so glad they were able to portray their chemistry on screen from the books
@@locke5046 omg I loved that scene so so much I can see why people didn’t like how they executed Kaz’s character and me too (Freddy understood the assignment but they low key did him dirty) because the show didn’t show much of his potential like in the books but I’m glad your dad caught it because I wonder if nonreaders see the chemistry and tension

I was shocked when i discovered that some of show stans ship inej with jesper and kaz with jesper or alina. I mean... Jesper and Inej are best friends jeez. I dont get it. They have good relationship so it has to mean that they are in love? Its stupid xd
Another non reader here (at least not yet) and I really like them together. There is some history between them and they clearly trust one another. Him putting the Crow Club up for collateral was for me a big sign of his feelings for her. That is not something you’d do if you don’t trust and care for someone. For me that was the point where I started shipping them. After binging the show I read up on them a little trying to dodge spoilers from the books and I now know that the both have quite some demons in their past and that letting someone in and showing their affection isn’t easy for them, so I expect it would be a very slow burn for hopefully upcoming seasons and I’m okay with that. My favourite Grishaverse couple next to Helnik🤗

Oh my gosh. I was fangirling so hard all through this first season, and this video made me relive everything I ever felt for this ship. I physically cannot believe how perfect Kaz is and Inej, Queen, you have my everything. This edit was brilliant and captured every single *MOMENT* in the series!!
